The Amani are a primitive race of sentient beings that were thrust throughout the galaxy due to strife and slavery on their homeworld. They are bipedal sentients that evolved from a form of tube worm found on its homeworld as living fossils. Unlike its lesser evolved kin though, the Amani have developed both sentience and a working limb structure that allows for them to lead an arboreal lifestyle on their home planet. They have elongated arms and short legs and are between the same height as an average human to approximately twice the height.

Their faces are similar to many other species; two eyes, nose structure, and a mouth. However that is where most of the similarities end. Amani have poisonous skin, wide gaping mouths filled with rows upon rows of serrated teeth, and bodies with few features to distinguish males from females. Indeed amongst this species, both male and females lead similar roles in their society, making it nearly impossible without someone accustomed to dealing with an Amani from telling the difference, and even then it is conjecture at best. Their long arms and short legs though give them a loping gait that may seem humorous to some, yet their legs are stout and very supportive of their body, leaving their long powerful arms to use thrown or melee weaponry favored by the culture.

Tribal in nature, the Amani do not shy away from combat, either with its own kind or that of others. Amani or Amanin as they are known in plural form, are a war like race that believes in ritualistic warfare. These characteristics along with their exposure to the galactic environment has seen a great deal of Amanin leave their homeworld for other locations and professions throughout the galaxy. While their technological grasp may be basic, they make up for it with persistence and a single minded focus common of many feral cultures. Many have exploited the Amanin throughout the years. Trading trinkets and weapons of war with tribal elders, or even deals for travel with indentured servitude of slavery for lesser members of tribes. While this is not always the case, such events have allowed the Amanin to spread throughout the galaxy which seems to suit them just fine.
