The Bronze Spectre was one of the most feared carrier/frigates in the galaxy for nearly a decade. During that time, it served as fleet command for a band of mercenary warriors known as Cy`een's Band. As their flagship, the Bronze Spectre fought in dozens of planetary wars, and several honor feuds, before being retired from service.

Early Service

The Bronze Spectre started its fabled existence as Quasar209283 on the shop floor of an Incom Corporation factory somewhere in New Republic space. Exact details are unclear, as much related to Quasar209283 remains classified by New Republic intelligence. The public story is that, due to numerous mechanical failures, she was decommissioned, stripped of her weaponry, and sold to a private collector. However, rumors surfaced soon after the supposed sale, that Quasar209283 had been stolen, along with an armory load of supplies, by a Zann Consortium defiler. Zann denied the allegations and Quasar209283 soon surfaced on the galactic market. Since it was known to be stolen, the price tag was low enough that an ambitious Quarren female could afford it. Her name was Shesa Kuolor. Kuolor was the leader of a small band of mercenaries she had dubbed the Cy`een Band. Until she acquired the stolen Quasar, the Cy`een Band had been a rag tag band of derelicts. Kuolor believed that the newly repainted and rechristened Bronze Spectre would instill pride in her men and attract other recruits to her team. She was right on both counts. The repainted Quasar began to show up as additional firepower for trade disputes, village quarrels, and other small disputes. As it did so, the reputation of the Cy`een's Band began to grow, as did their numbers. As their popularity grew, Kuolor was able to equip the Bronze Spectre with multiple fighter squadrons. The Bronze Spectre became known for spewing both incredible amounts firepower it threw at enemy ships and what seemed like an innumerable horde of fighter squadrons. Kuolor's men modified the Bronze Spectre's hold to hold twenty-eight fighter squadrons, of several varieties.

Kinyen Debut

The first true test of the budding Cy`een Band and their newly minted flagship was the Gran civil war on Kinyen. Two small time warlords had joined forces to overthrow the ruling warlord Jaku Wan. Wan had the support of a nebulous secretive organization known as Darkness as well as tacit support from the Hutt Cartel which permitted him to mass produce some of their starfighters. However the challenging warlords, Kell Kynnie and Guld Corsh, called in the Cy`een Band. Seeing the civil war as a way of making a name for the Band, Kuolor accepted the call. Within a week of arrival in the system, the Cy`een's Band pilots had completely gained both planetary and atmospheric air supremacy over the older Starhoppers. Their pilots roamed with complete freedom, bombing and strafing ground troops with near impunity. On the ground, Cy`een's Band mercenaries battled Wan's soldiers for months. However, with the Bronze Spectre and her fighters blockading the planet and faced with a steadily crumbling front line, Wan elected to make a run for it. Using the few Starhoppers he had left and his personal Lictor, he made a run for safety. His small suicide task force lasted a mere fifteen minutes. The Cy`een's Band pilots and the Bronze Spectre pulverized the task force and destroyed the Lictor. The war was over. However, despite their meritorious service, the Cy`een's Band would not receive payment. The alliance of warlords broke down as Kynnie poisoned Corsh and took sole control of Kinyen. Instead of paying, Kynnie tried to blame the Cy`een's Band for the casualty count of the war. Rather than demand payment, Kuolor took her band of mercenaries off to search for more valuable targets.

Alvorine

The massive success gained by the Bronze Spectre over Kinyen made the Cy`een's Band a galactic name. Contract offers began pouring in. Kuolor was choosy about accepting offers, taking only those which offered a chance to gain honor and renown for the Cy`een's Band. She took four jobs, completing each flawlessly, before recieving the call from Drax Industries. A band of pirates, complete with a pair of Lictors and dozens of support vessels, accompanied by hundreds of fighters had blockaded Alvorine. They demanded a two billion credit ransom to lift the blockade. The ransom would have bankrupted Drax. They contracted the Cy`een's Band fleet, augmented with a pair of dreads and dozens of additional fighter squadrons, and still headed by the Bronze Spectre, to break the blockade. The Cy`een's Band stormed in on the pirates. It was a bloody, vicious struggle. The Cy`een's Band lost one of their newly acquired dreads, while one of the pirate's Lictors changed hands five times. In the end, one the the Lictors was a burning wreckage and the other was captured. The rest of their fleet was either destroyed or scattered. Drax paid their fee, and allowed the Cy`een's Band to refit using Drax shipyards.

Lantillies Moon

The Bronze Spectre remained the mainstay of the Cy`een's Band fleet for years, functioning as their primary carrier and flagship. The Lantillies Moon incident brought even further honor to the Cy`een's Band. The moon was a nest of pirates and smugglers. After one of their transport convoys was hit by these pirates, Kuolor determined to clear the nest out. She took the Cy`een's Band to the moon and demanded the smugglers and pirates surrender. They laughed at the demand. It was a foolish choice. The Cy`een's Band ground troops quickly wrested large portions of the moon from the pirates. The skies were another matter. The smugglers and pirates were very good at what they did, but the overwhelming numbers of the Cy'een's Band fighters was too much for them. The few pirates who escaped capture or death were dispersed. The Lantillies Moon would be the Cy`een's Band home base for the remainder of its existence.

A Reckoning

The Cy`een's Band had long memories, augmented by Kuolor's relentless ambition. Thus when a contract came down from Sienar Technologies requesting their aid against a Gran warlord and pirate master named Kell Kynnie, the Cy`een's Band jumped at the offer. They took their whole force to Nauton to break Kynnie's pirate blockade. That part was not difficult. The more difficult part was taking the fight to Kynnie. The Gran warlord had fortified Kinyen into his own personal fortress. The Cy`een's Band hit this fortress head on. Ferocious fighting took place both in space and on the ground. The Gran pirate fleet, plus his own personal guard took to the skies to fight the Bronze Spectre, while the Cy`een's Band infantry ground it out against hundreds of thousands of Gran troops. The siege of Kinyen took five months, but Sienar Technologies was serious about taking down Kynnie. As the siege drew to a close, a group of Kynnie's officers had him assassinated and made peace with Sienar. After the conclusion of the siege, Kuolor retired as commander of the Cy`een's Band, leaving the Bronze Spectre to the organization.

Current Employment

Unfortunately for the Cy`een's Band, Shesa Kuolor's successor was unable to hold the organization together. It splintered into five different bands, one of which ended up with the Bronze Spectre. However, lacking the reputation of the Cy`een's Band, the new owner was forced to downsize. This included selling off the Bronze Spectre. An Ortolan businessman named Narmo Colmven purchased the ship and currently possesses it.
