Cael Haetham Graigan, born on Day 30 Year -28, is a freelancer, businessman, murderer, smuggler, pilot, Force-wielder, mercenary, and former sergeant in the Imperial military.

Biography
Early Years
Born at the top of Corellian society, Cael was the only child of Haetham and Reilia Graigan. Haetham maintained tight control of the Corellian arms market as a result of their corporation, Graigan Arms, "acquiring" small arms manufacturers to bring under their umbrella. Haetham's position as CEO ensured this near-monopoly and spun it into deals with a number of militaries across the galaxy. However, when Cael was fifteen years old, Reilia and Haetham divorced following a public scandal that brought to light arms deals with criminal factions. Though the company eventually recovered, the family's reputation would forever be stained.

At age sixteen, Cael became a member of the company board of executives after a replacement for Reilia's position was not found, taking over as CFO. While some members of the board argued, especially some of the more ambitious ones, Cael's economic prowess became evident and all shouts turned to whispers.

At age twenty-six, Cael became CEO after Haetham succumbed to a heart attack during an off-world business trip. One year later, following the increase in unrest prior to the rebellion, Cael sold his shares in the company and left for parts unknown.

An Exile of Their Doing
While Cael did not fear any sort of reprisal from the already-building movement to rebel against the Empire, he felt it would be best to go to ground for a few years to ride out any sort of conflict. With numerous resources still at his disposal, he made a comfortable living in the outer-reaches of the galaxy that warred on itself.

Imperial Duties
After years of his self-imposed disappearance, he finally made the decision to rejoin the galaxy-at-large. His fortune now spent, he decided to commit himself to a greater cause. He then joined the Imperial Army, graduating with honors and promoted to the rank of corporal. Serving with pride with the 2nd Imperial Legion, the Hellhounds, Cael was then promoted once more to the rank of sergeant. However, when he was falsely accused of attempting to abdicate his duty and flee the Empire, he was arrested and interrogated by Imperial Intelligence. Eventually proven to be innocent, a hatred for the Empire began to fester.

Ultimately, he did what he was accused of. He quietly arranged for a ship to be dropped on a lifeless planet in a system he was flying patrol on, and broke from his formation. He then fled Imperial space for parts unknown, now an expatriate.

Adrift
Cael found himself, once again, living in the outer-edges of society. While he did not have as much of a comfortable living as before, he worked for a variety of factions in the mid-rim and outer-rim worlds as a smuggler. Eventually even he tired of the business and opted for more a more traditional career: trading.

A Sense of Potential
Three years into his "legitimate" career, during a slightly-tipsy conversation with a Force sensitive individual, he agreed to be Force tested. Mostly for giggles, but as fate would have it, he himself was attuned to the Force. Forever altering his perspective of his life, and likely never welcomed into the arms of neither the Sith or Jedi, he began to train himself.

The Derra Strain
Mere days after Cael's awakening to the Force, yet another turning point occurred in his life: the Metamorphosis Plague became a galaxy-wide pandemic. This virus was unknown to Cael for the most part aside from muddled and unclear visions from meditation, but he contracted the plague from a bottle of whiskey given to him as a Life Day gift. When he fell asleep in a drunken stupor, he awoke three days later with his biorhythm completely halted. Fearing an attempt on his life, he used lab equipment aboard a Sprint-class rescue craft to discover if there was a poison at work, and if so, an antidote. To his surprise, the laboratory computer registered him not as Corellian--but as Anzati. When he tested the bottle, the presence of a pathogen was discovered. It is unknown if he was purposefully infected, but fortunately, the plague did not affect him as drastically as other sentients. The plague merely awoke latent genes in his DNA that were from his mother, apparently Anzati herself or in descent.

This revelation was earth-shattering to Cael's proud heritage that he constantly touted, resigning from the Corellian Merchants Guild, but continues maintaining the Corellian Alcoholic Enablers League.

Personality
Cael is most certainly a grim, deeply cynical man and is not easily slighted. Though he is known to be a more personable individual to those he is in business relations with, he is derisive to almost anyone else. He also holds a very deep hatred of violence against those unable to defend themselves, which as rumor has it, he beat a man to death with a holo-billiards cue for pulling knife on a woman in a cantina. He has a narcissistic streak that he displays often on the holonet. Ironically, he despises almost anyone with a narcissistic demeanor, except himself of course.

Cael Graigan, the only son of Belenus and Anacea Graigan, was born on day 22 of year -32, in the waning years of the Galactic Republic.

He is, however, not without a good sense of humor. While remaining almost consistently stoic in business and in normal interaction, he maintains the Corellian Alcoholic Enablers League (C.A.E.L.), a satirical brewery/organization that plays on the stereotype of Corellian alcoholism to push a number of alcohols, leading to a fair amount of financial success.

His father, Belenus, was an officer in the Republic Navy at the time of the Clone Wars. The steady pay he sent home kept the family afloat. His mother, a painter by night and cantina waitress by day, brought in little but tips and sexual harassment from patrons. They managed to have a decent living, and Cael grew up without the usual cliches.

His Imperial psychological evaluation profiles him as "while most certainly chaotic in his methods, he is cold and calculated in his premeditation. He is straightforward, forthcoming, and honest; something unlike most that come through my door. His demeanor, while cold, is easily shaken by light conversation but he maintains a certain...distance. However, by my estimates and the evaluation tables put in place by the Academy, he is stable enough to serve and be effective".

His father finally retired at the end of the Clone Wars, and his mother became moderately successful as a painter, quitting her cantina job. They ultimately ended up opening two small businesses, one a gallery for Anacea's work, and the second, a small transportation service that would ferry customers around the Corellian sector. The stable income from each allowed Cael to attend a private school, where he received a classical education in numerous fields.

Possessing an almost-genius IQ, Cael excelled in his courses and graduated two years ahead of his peers, allowing him to work for the family's business interests. Even though Cael's Imperial service was tainted with accusations of treachery and fleeing duty, he regained a modest respect for the Empire after the Vodo regime was overthrown in a coup d'état in late Year 11, even going to the point of displaying his military uniform and armor in his vessel's lounge. He is, however, staunchly anti-Alliance, seeing the New Republic as a corrupt organization using blind jingoism and a disguise of "democracy" to attain power. He also holds a disdain for the Mindabaal League for their flagrant arrogance and childish bickering.

In year 13, Cael would go on to open his own liquor company, the Corellian Alcoholic Enablers League (aka C.A.E.L.).  The company went on to be very successful and would experience times of excess demand.  C.A.E.L. would close for the last time shortly before it's owners death.

— Cael Graigan

Cael Graigan, the only son of Belenus and Anacea Graigan, was born on day 22 of year -32, in the waning years of the Galactic Republic.

Cael then began flying freighters, back and forth, for these businesses. He learned most of the tricks of piloting from this experience.

In year 13, Cael would go on to open his own liquor company, the Corellian Alcoholic Enablers League (aka C.A.E.L.). The company went on to be very successful and would experience times of excess demand. C.A.E.L. would close for the last time shortly before it's owners death.
