More commonly known as the Jedi Starfighter, the Delta-7 Aethersprite is an advanced, single seat, starfighter design. The armament is somewhat weak compared to other starfighters, with two heavy lasers equipped. Its true value comes from its electronics package with an integrated R-Type droid assisting the pilot. This package provided the Delta-7 with an ECM field hiding this starfighter from several other starfighter scanners. It made for a very useful starfighter in dogfights, however ships with advanced sensor packs are able to track through the ECM field. It makes for an ideal individual ship when there is need to slip past patrols but in a heavily populated system, its advantages can become a liability. The Delta-7 design made it too small for the starfighter to be hyperdrive capable on its own, instead it relies on an external hyperdrive ring for interstellar travel. Used widely by several Jedi, the Delta-7 became a symbol of the Order until its collapse. Several examples of this rare ship found their way into the hands of individuals, some incriminatory associated with the fall of the Order. Other Jedi retained their rare starfighters in exile until recently. The designer for this ship would later work on other potent starfighter designs such as the highly rated A-Wing, decades later.
