The Imperial Academy is the Galactic Empire's educational institution which prepares recruits for service in the Imperial Navy and Imperial Army. The Academy is run by the Academy Commandant who reports to the Vizier of the Coalition for Progress, a sub-branch of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR).

The Academy is divided into the Imperial Basic Training (IBT) school that most Imperials are requested to attend, the School of Officer and Command Studies to train the future officers of the Imperial Military branches, and the School of Engineering that is aimed at the education and training of civilian officers.
