Era of The Shadows: Children of Chaos

The Pentastar Alignment in its early history was a collection members primarily consisting of the Trellik Hive with their leader Archduke Aeonian Masha, the former Chief Executive Office of Huppla Tisc Shipwrights Collective and his friends who left the Falleen Federation. The group traveled the stars as nomads away from the public eye, sowing discord wherever they went through black market trade, and intelligence trading. This is how they chose to call themselves the Shadows.

From Nomads to Bureaucrats

Over many months the group went about their own way until one day when, Aeonian Masha was contacted by an old friend, Luke Turton. He was about to take charge of the United Coalition of Rachuk as second-in-command while Emperor Uther Von Kaldreon, was to undertake a personal adventure.

After brief negotiations with Luke with the Emperor’s blessing, the Shadows slowly became integrated into the United Coalition of Rachuk. On Y10 D317, Lord Tigris Ninx became Regent of the throne and Luke became official Prime Minister, while Archduke Aeonian Masha became Minister of Engineering, with the majority of the Shadows and Trellik Hive making up the engineering and defense ministries.

The End of the Golden Era of Rachuk.

Aeonian Masha being Minister of Engineering of the Coalition, implemented vast changes and reformed the ranks and departments into more cohesive units and things progressed with peace. Unfortunately just a few weeks in, sudden waves of turmoil rocked the government to its very core. Emperor Uther Von Kaldreon made a sudden reappearance and royally reversed many of the policies and insisted his old policies be enforced again.

In a few short days the sudden reinstatement of old ineffectual policies caused an economic shock to the economy and the Coalition fell into a heavy and sharp recession. To make matters worse the Emperor disappeared, and Prime Minister Luke Turon was left with few options to deal with the crisis. The golden period of Rachuk had ended.

The Great Sundering

Tensions across the government had begun to rise, and the Emperor was quickly losing favor and support of the populous. This came to head when Luke Turton publically denounced Uther Von Kaldreon at a meeting with the commanders and ministers of the government. Sides were quickly being drawn between supporters of the prime minister and the emperor. Minister & Archduke Aeonian Masha decided to remain neutral along with many members of the Trellik Hive. While members of the Shadows outside the Hive decided to side with the prime minister. Around this time a secret meeting had occurred between Luke Turton, his supporters, and the Shadows group, the contents and actions of which were not released until much later.

On Year 11 Day 114, the coup d'état was set in motion; some members of the Shadows group, elements of the navy, and army staged a systematic takeover of UCoR while Aeonian Masha and members of his Trellik Hive decided to remain neutral but supported the Prime Minister. Forces loyal to Uther Von Kaldreon were quickly suppressed while Uther himself was driven into the nearest sun due to a suicide hijacking of a member close to Luke. The coup was a success or so it appeared. Luke was proclaimed the new Emperor while Aeonian Masha was proclaimed Prime Minister of UCoR.

On Year 11 Day 120, the loyalists struck back, Uther had reappeared to personally start culling the new government of its supporters in a bid to reclaim the throne. Aeonian Masha decided it was time to call together his Hive and with the rest of the Shadows group started pulling out of the government and headed to neutral Corporate Alliance territory to regroup and acquired the corporation Courier Communications and saved it from dissolution.

Luke and many of his supporters like Tisha Sperry eventually joined up Courier Communications and provided much of the capital required to form the group. Soon after Phoenix Recycling Corporation and The Mining Guild were acquired and added to the Shadows group; a new era had begun.

Tragedy, Betrayal and Death

Several events took place that eventually caused the Shadows group to split apart and caused a merger with the Corporate Alliance owned and led by Siejo Kutol:

Luke Turton, never officially recovered from the incident surrounding the UCoR, and having all his assets transferred to Courier Communications, went on vacation. Unfortunately he suffered an engine malfunction, and his ship crashed into the sun. A day of mourning was declared in his honor.

A few months into the sunning of Luke Turton, a massive looting took place in which caused the selling of Phoenix Recycling Corporation to Siejo Kutol. Shortly after, due to the lack of assets and the need for jobs, The Shadows group joined the Corporate Alliance conglomerate at the behest of Siejo Kutol who offered to give a good position in the group and offer of funding and providing room to build. Courier Communications was closed and all assets moved to Mining Guild.

While on a mission to build a city; Aeonian Masha was arrested by the Falleen Federation government over trumped up charges. After a brief but sharply fought trial, Aeonian Masha was declared free by order of the King and was to be delivered to freedom. Sadly it never happened, on the way to Hapan space Aeonian Masha was murdered by Weylin vi Cron of Star’s Nova who was paid by Xias a Minister of the Falleen Federation.

The reaction from the Corporate Alliance was in shock, especially from several leaders such as Siejo Kutol and Alex Track. The Mining Guild’s leadership transfered to Trellik Hive member Alex Masha while ownership of the Shadows group fell to Siejo Kutol who was steward and legal guardian of Aeonian's only child and heir Solarius Masha.

The Dark Era

The period following the assassination was marked with widespread anger and frustration at Falleen Federations ability to give answers. A few leaders during this era was Alex Masha, Sasuke Drol, Sabo Magus, and Trace Magus.

While greatly weakened, the group began its recovery under the supervision of Siejo Kutol who followed through on his dreams to recreate the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During this time the Shadows group was condensed around The Mining Guild to rebuild its stability and the power, credits, and assets, it once controlled.

Era of the Confederacy

Mid Year 11, Siejo Kutol finally achieved his dream by reorganizing CIS by brining together the Order of Kampar, Haor Chall Engineering, and Kaos Galactica, and his own Corporate Alliance. First named the Confederate Remnant it was quickly changed to reclaim the name CIS. With Horley Cyan as the Head of State and Siejo Kutol serving as Supreme Commander. The document stating the alliance operating procedure that was written by Aeonian Masha before his death was accepted post-humorously as the main constitution of the alliance where it remains to this day.

The Shadows was later accepted as a member of the CIS a few weeks after the formation along with Galactic Medical, Loronar Corporation, Hawkbats, and Horizon Corporation. These series of events ushered in another era of peace, prosperity, and growth unrivaled between any of the CIS members in their respective histories. Around this time CIS was considered one of the largest grouping of factions outside the Imperial Union and Galactic Alliance.

This alliance was especially a boon to the Shadows. Mining contracts, and production requests came flooding in from various other allied member groups. This helped fuel the regrowth of all that was lost prior to the Dark Era.

Birth of the Confederate Government

On Year 12 Day 337, CIS was reorganized as a recognized government by Siejo Kutol as the CIS. This marked a rapid upward swing into the fortunes of the Shadows. Over the course of the year the Shadows went again from a small time organization to a galactic level conglomerate of finance, information, and trade.
