Early Years

Selene on Taris (Upper Town)

Selene was very injured and in an unconscious state when a lady found her, Selene lying on the floor in a dark alley on the verge of death in a puddle of her own blood originating from a wound on her head. The Anzati was found alone wearing torn clothing, who or what ever lead that savage attack on Selene had left her there to die. Selene's 'saviour' Camilla Kahn was a Human, a very kind woman with a huge heart, she took the Anzati on the verge of death into her home and treated her severe wounds and with time, she recovered from those wounds though Selene could remember nothing of her past. The trauma caused by the severe head injury it seems had blocked all memories. She had lost her past in seconds, but she still shared all the same powers and skills as any Anzati would display. Camila and her husband, Dr. Yurther Kahn, a Kiffar geneticist, adopted her and called the Anzati Selene Kahn due to the fact she could not remember her own name. The Kiffar geneticist saw a huge chance to study a live Anzati whilst he helped her try and remember and recover from her wounds and trauma.

When Selene was growing up she was healthy and happy with her new life. Her adopted father studying her feeding needs over the years, even going as far as splicing her Anzati genes and her parent's Human genes together. He was trying to decrease her hunger but in the end. Failed. All experiments that she suffered had collateral effects on her body, like: her appearance became more Human like where as compared to most pale skinned, bulbous nosed Anzati, she lost near all Anzati characteristics; when her wounds healed they did not leave a scar; Selene due to the genetic splicing is able to change the colour of her eyes at will ranging between dark green to light blue, she also as a result of the genetic splicing is able to 'extend' her canines and also became sterile, meaning she could never have children by natural means and her feeding needs decreased, but not disappeared. Dr. Yurther Kahn also taught her the Kiffu language and Kiffar history, he also taught her of the Anzati’s actions against the Kiffar, trying to make her understand the way the Anzati all think the same way about all other races and how wrong that view was. She kept living by and learning Human and Kiffar morals, she couldn’t remember anything about her roots nor even places from her homeworld. Meanwhile Selene met Aetius Morbus, another Anzati raised by humans. They become very good friends and passed all of their free time together. She learned many things with him, but never asked him anything about his roots and how he did end up on Taris. It was a prohibited subject for both to ask each other about their roots.

Some years had passed since she was found on Taris, Selene's adopted parents were getting older and Selene, after having been trained and gaining much more experience slowly became an amazing hunter, weapons specialist, became adept in combat tactics and melee fighting capabilities. Her adopted father was very proud of his daughter and the amazing, talented woman she had become. In that time, Aetius and Selene grew distant slightly, each one focused on following their own different paths, though one fateful day Selene was glad to see the family was reunited and were reconnecting at their home when someone knocked on the door, Dr. kahn opened it, someone entered and told the Geneticist that a crew of Bounty Hunters were looking for him, asking about him. He looked to both his daughter and wife in panic, saying scattered words in Kiffu with seemingly no sense to them until suddenly, the door exploded into a scattering mess of thousands of pieces and a trio of humanoids wearing battle armour and armed with DLT-20a's and DL-18's breached the home, one of them immediately upon taking a lazy aim sends a blaster bolt towards her adopted mother without warning, killing her instantly. Seconds later another bolt was fired against Selene but misses, barely due to the Anzati's constant movement as she tried to be a hard target. The third humanoid grabbed her adopted father. Dr. Kahn, set their armour covered gaze upon Selene and spoke a plethora of words in Kiffu while Selene's father flashed her part of a Thermal Detonator inside his pocket. Selene understood what her father had in mind and sprinted as fast as her legs could carry her, leaping through the nearest window she could see. Selene's speed not stopping for a second as she lands on the othe side of the now broken window a foray of blaster bolts soaring after her as she ran as fast as fast as she possibly could. Eventually collapsing a long distance from the home. Finally. Selene looked behind her with tears covering her face, just in time to hear an explosion and see a huge fireball like mass of embers and flame erupt into the air in the exact same space where her home was simply a few minutes prior. With her heart thundering and her father's last words hammering in her mind she stood, barely able to keep going through her grief and exhaustion and just kept running, lost and heartbroken.

Leaving Taris

Leaving Taris

Selene left Upper City where she had previously lived the most happiest times of her life with her adoptive parents, and one of the worst times too, her parents death was going to be forever in her mind, she could forget the way her adoptive mother was coldly murdered, or how her adoptive father had committed suicide to protect her. She felt frustrated and helpless for not being able to protect them or do anything, it made her feel a deep growing rage and sadness inside herself. She never thought about seeking vengence, mainly since the Bounty Hunters died in the explosion together with both of her adoptive parents. Now, she was alone again. In the following years, Selene wandered lost and alone in the dark and dirty streets of the Lower City where she fed her needs with any 'intelligent' being, no matter the race. No one ever discovered that she was Anzati, everyone had always thought that she was human which gave her a great advantage when hunting for soup. She joined a local gang and proved quickly that she was a soldier, a warrior, not a woman to serve any man's desires. All the combat trainging she received from her adoptive father seemed to be a crucial skill at this stage of her life, though she had to prove her value in an underground fight ring, of which was simply a choice made by the Anzato to prove to herself that she could win in the ring. All of her melee combat training gave her a huge advantage in the ring, where she won many battles proving her worth and improving her standing with the gang, her many unperiled victories gaining her the full confidence from her leader. As a soldier, Selene did all sorts of violent, dangerous and un-safe work, such as drug sales (Death Sticks and Ryll Patches), gang warfare was always present, difficult credit collections for loan sharks, where she was often wounded but such actions were essential to unload her rage. One day, after a drug sale operation, the gang leader called Selene and accused her of stealing some of the money from the sale, which she answered naturally with violence, killing the leader and the two bodyguards the leader had with them. She would not allow anyone to suspect her, after years of dedication to the gang. Immediately, she escaped from the gangs hideout without a trace, unseen, unheard. Her time in Taris had come to an end it seemed, now it evidently seemed was a good chance to get to know her adoptive father’s roots, if she had to leave the planet quickly.
