A Falleen female, Syn began her career in the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire, where she rose to the rank of Captain while serving as Fleet XO of the Second Assault Fleet, and was ultimately placed on Naval High Command prior to her resignation following the removal of Emperor Charon. After covertly working with two different pirate groups, she took advantage of the reputation she had sustained as a widely-regarded middleman, and founded two sister production companies within the Rachuk sector that she controlled: Starsign Shipyards and Starsign Mining. After several years of providing a variety of YT freighters to the public at low costs, she abruptly sold both companies, as well as all of her real estate within Rachuk, to interested parties, and returned publicly to the Eidola pirates with whom she remains allied today.

Biography

Early Years

Syn was raised as a Human on the neutral world of Qat Chrystac, the adopted daughter of a man and woman known as the Becketts. Her youth was hardly one to be proud of. As Imperial rule had thus far failed to extend to such reaches of the galaxy, her homeworld was undeveloped and relatively uneducated, thus the limited public education system failed to keep her mind occupied. She turned instead to theft and crime, but this, too, ultimately failed to provide the challenge for which she had hoped. Yet that came to an abrupt end when she tried her hand at the largest theft she had ever planned, and was subsequently discovered and arrested.

With her adoptive parents in league with the local authorities, she was given no choice but to join the military, and so, at the assumed Human age of 18, she was shipped to the Imperial Naval Academy on Obroa-Skai, thus beginning what would soon become a lengthy and illustrious career within the Imperial Navy. It was at this time that she adjusted her surname to "Becket," in an attempt to distance herself from the parents who had sent her away. There are no reports of any subsequent encounter with the Becketts, who have seemingly since relocated to an unknown location.

The Galactic Empire

Although she resisted substantially to such a dramatic change in lifestyle at first, Syn began to discover her talents while within the Navy. And so she rose through the ranks, assigned as fleet fighter commander in a squadron of TIE Interceptors, then commanding a Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser, then a trio of Carrack Cruisers, and finally a Victory-class Star Destroyer of her own as she was promoted to the command staff of the Second Assault Fleet, the Navy's top offensive fleet. She spent much of this time managing a private ship rental service during her free hours that was renowned for targeting the poor and taking in only minimal profits while trusting her personally acquired goods to strangers. This started her career as a respected middleman among the trading community. Following her additional work in handling all Naval personnel assignments and starship logistics over a two-year period as an officer, she ultimately received a position on Naval High Command as a highly-decorated Captain in charge of coordinating with all of the fleet commanders as Naval Chief Communications Officer. During her time as an officer, she was also charged with overseeing the Empire-wide Tactical Essay Contests, leading Navy meetings, helping to develop Naval Academy course material, and administering the Imperial holonet and various newsgroups and mailing lists.

It was also during her time in the Navy that she met Kosh Naranek, Falleen Lord of Black Sun, and the two were wed. The marriage did not last long, as she learned after a time that Kosh had been seeing another, and she was able to have the marriage annulled, a move which her Imperial peers seemed to fully support, likely due to Kosh's shady reputation.

However, during the months following her promotion to Captain, when an Imperial splinter faction rejoined the Galactic Empire, and ultimately resulted in the removal of the popular Emperor she had served throughout the majority of her career, Emperor Charon. It was also during this time that she began to notice a number of changes occurring within her own body, perhaps spurred by the significant stress she was undergoing. She met with her personal medic and learned that, in an advanced medical procedure, her DNA had been spliced with that of a Human at an early age to disguise her true identity, perhaps to give her the chance the biological parents she had never known had lacked in a galaxy so consumed with bias against non-Humans. She was a Falleen.

This did not bode well for her as the new leadership of the Empire took a much firmer stance against aliens in the ranks than Emperor Charon had, and the breakdown of her splicing was irreversible at such a late stage and with the relatively limited knowledge of the field. She had been contemplating a resignation for some time, and this solidified matters. She turned her resignation in to Uebles, the new Emperor, along with the rest of the once-magnificent Second Assault Fleet. She then sought out Tembre Fe`ll, a half-Falleen with whom she had become closely acquainted after her first marriage had ended, and accepted his proposal of marriage. The two were wed on board Tembre's Carrack-class Cruiser, the Hangover.

Outrider Trading, the Jedi Praxium, and Huruk-Rah

Syn spent the month following her Naval resignation holding down a temporary job in a small and unsuccessful trading company, Outrider Trading, acting as head of the transportation department, having rapidly sought out a neutral company in order to avoid being labeled a wanted traitor. Once she deemed it safe, she and Fe`ll joined the Jedi Praxium where they led the Naval and armed forces, respectively. Within the Praxium she became reacquainted with a number of former Imperials who had made similar career choices. During this time she also arranged a visit to Falleen Prime, the Falleen homeworld, where she received a series of blood tests and discovered a portion of her heritage, that she was the descendent of one of the ancient kings. Due to this, she became a part of the Huruk-Rah clan, the heir of the Third Royal Line, thereby rightfully receiving the title of Princess, although no records exist of her active usage of the title. When Prince Jace Meridan, the clan Nathran (or leader), met his demise at the hands of the Sith at the infamous Battle of Beta, she assumed control of the Royal Clan altogether and served as the clan's mouthpiece on the Sejm, the Falleen Federation's conglomerate of clan heads and government officials, before this was disbanded by the Federation due to significant and recurring political drama.

Piracy

Seven months with the Jedi Praxium had taught Syn that the group had fallen into a state of stagnancy and would be unsuccessful in opposing the Empire to any great extent. And so, she again found herself submitting her resignation, and found work instead in the Order of Krath, a group of pirates founded by the former Sith Master, Thraken Solo, seemingly as disillusioned with the Empire as she. She spent several months with him, accompanying him on numerous campaigns and assassinations, and the two reportedly became close friends. However, circumstances eventually led to her departure to the Eidola pirates, founded by the daughter of the legendary thief, Keir Santage, where Thraken soon joined her before he himself was assassinated by an Imperial Army sergeant with whom she maintained a subsequent rivalry prior to his own demise. She remained with Eidola for a few more months, operating as a covert pirate, successfully keeping her affiliation concealed in order to preserve the trading reputation with which she made the majority of her profit.

Starsign Shipyards

However, her activities insufficient in allowing her to maintain her desired high levels of activity, Syn took her leave in order to found Starsign Shipyards, a ship production company, with a number of close friends and allies. Here she enjoyed astounding success as the galaxy's sole producer of the YT-510, providing these and other freighters at a cost so low it opened the market to a significantly wider consumer base than previously known, and ultimately opened Starsign Mining as a sister company to provide the raw materials required for production and further expansion through the Rachuk sector.

Although it was for many years unknown whether connections remained between Syn and the pirate groups of past, after nearly three years heading the mining and ship production companies comprising the Starsign corporation, she abruptly sold both companies without public remark as well as the entire Rachuk sector that she controlled, and was subsequently spotted in the company of various notable Eidola pirates.

Eidola

After several months, her return to Eidola--as well as her previous affiliation with the pirates--became publicized, and her reputation as a trader nearly wavered before it was determined by the trading community that no evidence existed of any untrustworthy behavior as far as middling and trading had gone. She has thus far remained with Eidola since Year 6, primarily assisting with murders and captures of notorious individuals, as well as functioning as middleman for traders with whom the pirates occasionally opt to trade honestly. The details of her association with the pirates remain largely unpublished, but she is frequently seen in the background of Holonet images or recordings and her presence is often mentioned in articles pertaining to some of the group's more renowned activities.

However, she seems to have become far less active within the trading community since her return to Eidola. Whether she is working on new plans or has elected to undertake either a premature or a temporary retirement is uncertain. Her notorious starship, the modified YT-510 Solitaire, known as the fastest ship in the galaxy, can often be spotted among the stars in the Sevarcos system where the pirates are rumored to be headquartered.

Abilities and Personality

Despite her aptitude for starship command, Syn is reportedly extremely skilled in many forms of melee combat. Following her resignation from the Imperial Navy, she was rarely seen in public without her metal staff, but over the past few years during her stint with pirates, she seems to have begun to prefer dual-wielding vibroblades. She has also accumulated a large number of victories in unarmed combat, and her infrequent handling of projectile weapons would seem to suggest a distaste or lack of ability where ranged combat is involved.

Throughout her various careers, Syn has been known by all her employers as cold, dispassionate, and often uptight. This may stem from her practice in enforcing regulations and organizing logistics while assisting with fleet and Naval command within the Empire. It seems to have served her well in business, but this personality has undoubtedly garnered her a large number of enemies, from which she has thusfar remained unscathed. However, her attitude seems to have become noticeably more laid back since spending the majority of her time with the rest of the Eidola pirates, perhaps due to having abandoned so many of her prior responsibilities. She has also been known for a series of public pranks, including the much publicized "sale" of Coruscant, in addition to numerous other planets within the galaxy, towards with a number of companies and governments expressed support. However, this was the final straw that led to an Imperial bounty placed on her head.

Whether she has genuinely cared about any of her subordinates, coworkers, or associates cannot be confirmed, but interviews reveal that she is largely regarded as competent, capable, and direct, in both the areas of business and combat. Even her marital status remains uncertain, as does information in regard to Fe`ll's whereabouts over the past years, but Syn has not been seen using a surname since shortly after the wedding and seems unwilling to discuss the matter.
