The Tartan-class Patrol Cruiser was designed by the Damorian Manufacturing Corporation and is also known as the Tartan-class Corvette. S Specifically created for use against starfighters pirates using small, fast ships for hit and run attacks, the warship's original production run was very successful and it may still be key for any well rounded fleet.
Tartan-class cruisers are built with a sophisticated power transfer system that can quickly redirect energy between various systems without unexpected surges or shut-downs. Agility is key to the vessel's ability to combat the nimble starfighters it was engineered to defeat. Powerful engines enable the small warship to keep up with, and actively engage, starfighters and affords it a more aggressive posture in dealing with them. With the addition of the heavy lasers and advanced tracking and sensor systems the Tartan-class patrol cruiser is well equipped to engage multiple waves of numerous, fast-moving targets.
A relatively large number of personnel are required to crew all of the ship's systems and weapons. While originally designed for Imperial use, the ship has become very popular and it hasn't taken long for the rest of the galaxy to notice. As a result many private fleets seek to add the Tartan Cruiser to their armada. Some have even fallen into the very hands of the pirates the ship was designed to combat.
