Ternion Corps, founded in 24 BCTG, was attached to the second sector army during the Clone Wars. Bloodied on Geonosis, Kamino and Malastare, the Corps established itself as an experienced and reliable battlefield group. The Ternion logo, an inverted arrow, originated as a NCO designation, but as the war progressed, it became a symbol of veterancy to the Clones and republic troopers who bore it. A symbol the entire Corps would earn with its long and successful service during the war.

History

Throughout much of the war, it consisted of three divisions: the 105th Armored Division, the 9th Infantry Division, and the 18th Infantry Division. At various points during the war, the corps was also reinforced by the Squib Rangers Battalion and the Malastare Rifles. After the war, after the military disbanded, the various Ternion Corps veteran associations remained connected to each other. Uncharacteristically, the camaraderie passed down to the children and grandchildren of the veterans, officers and enlisted alike, and membership grew rather than dwindled as time passed. While most Ternion Corps local chapters are no more than mere community groups meeting monthly to commemorate and celebrate the military achievements of their elders, some believe that as a whole the umbrella organization holds potentially significant influence through their members in high places in political and industrial arenas.

Mission of the Corps

  • To uphold the ideals of the Grand Army of the Republic.
  • To recognize the sacrifices made by veterans of the Clone Wars.
  • To preserve the memories of the Clone Wars.
  • To care for veterans of the Clone Wars.
  • To foster camaraderie among veterans of the Clone Wars.
  • To educate the descendents of veterans of the Clone Wars.
  • To maintain readiness for future armed conflicts.
  • To preserve the Clone template.

Notable Units

18th Administrative Division

Malastare Rifles Regiment

Bluntly put, Malastare's Pride originated from a group of veterans who failed to find gainful employment. During the Clone Wars, the Malastare Rifles participated in the defense of their home planet, fighting alongside of the 18th Infantry Division of the Grand Army of the Republic. They were mostly Dugs, though a noticeable number of other sentient species served with the regiment as well, for the planet of Malastare, the city of Pixelito in particular, was diverse and metropolitan. Returning home after the war, the post-war transitional economy offered them few career options. A group of veterans banded together and formed a loose network helping each other secure odd jobs in order to stay afloat. With their military background, it was not unexpected that many of such jobs were the likes of part-time armed guards at banks or serving as temporary police auxiliaries. As time went on, as many of these veterans gained fame as hired guns, fewer and fewer longed for regular employment. The loose group gradually became tight knit, and many of their children grew up together in their own type of a small village. As their exploits became known over drinks, some of the 18th Infantry Division veterans who longed for their former lifestyles traveled to Malastare to join the group who now called themselves Malastare's Pride. Some decades later, some of the older veterans faded into the background, and the younger ones stepped up into leadership positions. Their children continued their semi-nomadic lifestyle that their veteran parents had created. The sentients of Malastare knew that, though rough around the edges, if they needed assistance, they could always seek out Malastare's Pride and make their case. Famously, the group helped maintain order during the hectic events of the Year 20 semi-annual galactic swap meet. Many traders and tourists came to know these tough and just mercenaries from Malastare.

Operations Battalion

37th Scout Regiment

Often referred to as 'swampers' based on their various deployments to less than desirable terrain and by their ability to quietly infiltrate and overrun enemy outposts. Marked only by an unusual camouflage pattern on their helmets, the 37th prefer not to replace weathered armor and equipment over time, instead allowing the natural grime of their designated world to remould their appearance.

Having originally served in skirmishes in the Battle of Geonosis, the troupe were later assigned to the mires of Nimban to run long term reconnaissance. As dark operatives, communications were one way and after the fall of the Republic the 37th had no further standing orders. Reestablishing contact with fellow divisions many years later, the troupe look to train future generations of Clones.

9th Ranger Battalion

105th Armored Division "Forgotten Sons"

The 105th during the war, was one of units that saw heavy integration with the much needed "Clone Troopers". With flash training, these clones were the best choice to replace experienced vehicle pilots in the field . Their birth born counterparts, saw levies coming from the then mysterious Hapan race. The ostracised men of the Hapes Cluster and the cylinder born clones found a commonality in their, as they put it, "Bastard" status. Fighting alongside them, would be a young Con Semper of Concord Dawn. Today they serve as the military backbone of the reconstituted Ternion Corps. Under the command of veterans like Semper, the division has shifted more towards an armored infantry division, utilizing lighter armor such as the AT-RT and Blaze Trooper Armor to supplement the short supply of combat effective TX-130 Saber-Class tanks.

62nd Airborne Special Operations Legion

The 62nd are a specialized unit, trained for high altitude drops, and ariel combat utilizing jetpacks. Their black plastoid armor is designed to operate as low grade stealth tech, obscuring not only line of sight, but weak and distant sensor scans. The 62nd is grown from the original Clone Template used in the Grand Army of the Republic. However due to available cloning technology, the members of the unit are grown using inferior spaarti cylinders. While not as stable, their growth time is significantly lower. Clones within the unit undergo flash training designed for the Grand Army of the Republic, rendering them familiar with all republic weapons and tech of the time. Further training is conducted by Con Semper, to mirror their abilities with the ARC troopers of the Clone Wars special operations branch. While not nearly as independent, they have proven themselves superior to the rank and file.

41st Harvester Regiment

The 41st Harvester Regiment soldiers served as special scouts in the Grand Army of the Republic and were often deployed into situations that required operating on swamps or dense vegetation terrain while mantining stealth.

The 41st Harvesters Regiment was a combat engineer unit attached to the 105th Armored Division, with extraction and asset recovery as its specialty. It is known as the most decorated engineer regiment of the Ternion Corps, and it was often ranked as one of the best in all of the Grand Army of the Republic.

Easily recognized by the green markings on their armour, the 41st Harvesters Regiment played a crucial role in several major battles such as the Battle of Teth, the Battle of Coruscant and the Battle of Thule, where they were deployed into energy farms to take down their enemy's shields, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

After the war, as many troopers were deemed not fit for the army anymore, several members continued to employ their engineering abilities as a way to carry on with their lives, which led to the creation of several small mining and recycling companies as those services were on high demand at the time.

As time went by, several of those companies, realizing their shared past and common interests, decided to unite. As their founders once did, they grouped together under a single flag, a single goal and a single name: The 41st Harvesters Regiment.

9th Infantry Division

The Tehom-18th Naval Reconnaissance Group

The Tehom is a Hunter-Class Corvette that was used as a training vessel on Kamino during the Clone Wars. Clone cadets who were slated to be assigned to aquatic units trained aboard the Tehom as one of their final stages before graduating and being deployed. While on board they not only became accustomed to the technology and tactics of submarine warfare, but also to deploying from a submarine for subaquatic missions of reconnaissance, assault, or sabotage. The ship was used exclusively to train cadets, and only ever saw combat during the Separatist attack on Kamino in Year -24. After the Tehom was decommissioned by the newly formed Galactic Empire when they closed the cloning facilities. The ship eventually came to rest at a planetary scrapyard where scavengers picked through the refuse of what was once the womb of the Grand Army of the Republic.

Captain Lyman Kalar was the commanding officer of The Tehom for the entire thirteen-years the Kamino facilities were operational. He was a former Republic naval officer, and helped design the aquatic combat training the clones would undergo. After the cloning facility was decommissioned, Kalar received orders to command the 18th Naval Reconnaissance Group stationed on Qiilura, a planet in the heart of former Separatist territory. For the next five years the 18th scoured the planet’s oceans and waterways for Separatist holdouts, pirates, and smugglers. The 18th was unceremoniously discharged in Year -17, and the sailors grew bitter about the fate of their brothers who had sacrificed so much for the good of the Republic, and then the Empire. Shortly afterwards, Kalar was also dismissed as the Imperial anti-alien policies took full affect throughout the armed forces. He retired to his homeworld of Mon Calamari, keeping in touch best he could with his former team.

The Kaminoans were reluctant to insert themselves once again into galactic politics, but began supporting the Rebel Alliance around Year 0, motivated by the Empire’s destruction of their economy and laboratories. The Rebels quickly sorted through the abundant surplus and scrap left behind, taking what they could use and selling what they couldn’t to raise funds for their expanding war with the Empire. What was left of the Tehom soon found its way to auction after the Rebels had cannibalized its weapons, scanning, and communication equipment to outfit their fleet. When Kalar and the veterans of the 18th learned of the auction, they pressed the Tenrion Corp to help them save it from being scrapped. Con Semper contacted longtime friend Paul Luz, who graciously agreed to finance the purchase and restoration himself. Now the veterans of the 18th Naval Reconnaissance have put the Tehom back into service in the arctic oceans of Visnoth, where Kalar and his crew use their years of experience to help new batches of clones find their sea legs.

32nd Military Police Platoon

The 32nd Military Police platoon was nearing the completion of their training on Kamino when the Separatists attacked in Year -24. Because production of new clones was stilted in the aftermath of the attack, the platoon’s first official deployment was as an infantry platoon during the Battle of Dolomar, during which the Republic destroyed that last remaining Separatist-aligned sector in the Core Regions. After a few months enforcing martial law on the planet Twith, they saw action at Iridonia and again at Ottega under Arkanian Jedi General Garne Mund, who arranged for commendations for the unit for bravery. While Master Mund continued pursuing the droid menace throughout the Northern Dependencies, the 32nd was redesignated as a Military Police unit, and remained in the Ottega system for the remainder of the war. There they enforced Republic laws and curfews, apprehended Separatist agents, and fought pirates and other criminal elements. In the chaos of the war’s conclusion, the 32nd were redeployed to Binquaros where they assisted in uprooting the last major Separatist stronghold and establishing Imperial Rule. They continued serving there until Year -15, when the unit was retired and replaced with a unit of the Imperial Security Bureau. Today, a reconstituted 32nd of fresh clones serves their original purpose as a security force at Ternion Corp facilities and ships, or where contracted.

81st Survey Detachment

The 81st Survey Detachment was one of many units tasked with mapping, clearing, and securing hyperspace routes vital to the Republic. The 81st served aboard the Aquitens-Class Cruiser Vanguard, and the unit received notoriety for mapping alternate routes between the Corellian Run and the Hydian Way during the hyperspace crisis at the end of Year -25. With their reputation secured, the crew of the Vanguard spent the rest of the war in the Outer Rim mapping new hyperspace jump coordinates that would allow the Republic Navy to push deeper into Separatist territory. The unit was disbanded as focus again shifted to the Core Regions amid the chaos of the power struggles in the early days of the Galactic Empire. The decommissioned clones were able to purchase their decommissioned vessel, and they continued their work as navigators and cartographers in the Outer Rim. The unit designation became a business name, and the children of the clone soldiers continued the business as the clones rapidly aged. When the unit connected with Ternion Corp, the descendants began working alongside fresh clones clearing hyperspace lanes, maintaining navigation beacons, and eliminating the occasional pirate gang that crosses their path.

218th Heavy Infantry

For the first two years of the war, the 218th Heavy Infantry served with the 5th Fleet under the infamous Jedi General Patwal Enos. After the grueling campaign to retake Kashyyk, Colvas, and Boonta, the 218th were one of the lucky units to survive the fleet’s destruction above Af’El and make it to the surface. After nearly two standard weeks fighting their way through the treacherous blackness of the planet and taking heavy casualties, the rest of the 218th was destroyed in a final frontal assault mere hours before the arrival of reinforcements and the mysterious disappearance of their Jedi general. A new batch of clones from Ternion’s facilities took on the 218th’s name and recreated the distinctive black armor of the tragic campaign.

103rd Starfighter Wing “Wrath Squadron”

The 103rd Starfighter Wing, or “Wrath Squadron” as they called themselves, earned their nickname during the Republic assault on Dolomar. The squad flew Z-95 Headhunters at the start of the war, and was transitioned to Alpha-3 V-Wings when they were assigned to one of the Core defense fleets. The unit was dissolved in year -19 when its members were each assigned instructor positions at different Imperial academies to train the next generation of pilots. The old squad got together for reunions when they could find the time, eventually finding comradery with other veteran clones through Ternion Corp. Once decommissioned and retired, the veterans of the 103rd trained clone descendants to fly. Fresh clones and those they taught continue to fly battle-tested Z-95 Headhunters and V-19 Tirrents in a reconstituted Wrath Squadron, performing aerial displays and working to restore original GAR Starfighters.

6th Salvage Corp

The Grand Army of the Republic’s Salvage Corps served an important role. They would be deployed to warzones after the battles had ended to comb through the wreckage to search for survivors and salvage any weapons or components that were either able to be repaired or deemed too sensitive to fall into enemy hands. As time allowed, debris would be gathered and sent to scrap yards to be melted down and reused in new ships and vehicles. The transition to the Empire saw the retirement of most all equipment used in the Clone Wars and there was no longer a need to scour those debris fields. Little by little, the Imperial salvage operation became automated and the clone salvage teams were eventually disbanded. Members of the 6th turned their duty into a business, searching junkyards for ships and vehicles to restore and sell to collectors, planetary defense fleets, mercenary groups, and, eventually, rebel cells. They, their students, and children were natural allies in Ternion Corp’s mission to keep the legacy of the Grand Army alive by saving what was left of it from the junkheap and keeping as much of it up and running as possible.

76th Harsh Environment Battalion

The 76th are a specialized unit, trained for harsh environment combat and recon utilizing specialized winter and heat gear to sustain the troopers during extended exposure to temperatures that would otherwise cause heat stroke or frostbite. The 76th were birthed from the original clone template but grown from spaarti cylinders alongside flash training however select clones of the 76th also receive further training from chiss commandos and are equipped with more updated combat gear to bring on a newer generation of clone commandos

Notable Members

Purchased Commissions

As enacted by the Republic Senate under military article 7-42b of the Grand Army of the Republic, in order to establish and reinforce the defenses of beleaguered Republic worlds, Planetary through System Commanders were allowed to sell commissions within their command to affluent Republic citizens who wished to contribute to the war effort. Rank was thus awarded in direct relation to the funds necessary to raise, train, equip and maintain military units from junior grade officers at platoon level, to Majors commanding entire battalions. Subsequent articles such as 7-42c would allow smaller units such as squads to be raised under non-commissioned officers.

The Ternion Corps, acting within these established articles, allows for the commissioning of private citizens into the Grand Army of the Republic. The Following are recognized by Ternion Corps as rank holding members by virtue of Articles 7-42b/c. Officers and NCOs are placed under the Corps 9th Infantry division. This is in accordance with aforementioned articles, though is largely a formality and honorific as these "Officers" are under no obligation and or affiliation with the Ternion Corps.
