Commodore Terrence Voridian Thorne, also known as Darth Khaine, was a decorated officer in Emperor Vodo Bonias' Galactic Empire,[1] and later a well-known member of the Force-sensitive Imperial Knights in the separatist movement known as New Imperial Order.
While serving in Bonias' Empire, he was captured and tortured by the SoroSuub Corporation. Due to the alleged intractability of Grand Moff Daelin Zerk, Thorne was not rescued by the Empire and abandoned to his fate. Zerk's unwillingness or inability to rescue Thorne was later publicly cited by Steward Garen Karrade as greatly disillusioning a large number of high-ranking officers with Zerk's leadership as the Imperial Chief of Staff and thus precipitating the Third Imperial Civil War.
