With the discovery of the planet Mirial early in year 17, Mirialan culture began to influence the galaxy for the first time. Their arts become popular, and their culture began to permeate the galaxy. Among other influences, was their religion, termed Trikarle for the Mirialan goddess Trikara. Trikarle teachings were very simple, very easy to understand, making it popular with many sentients.

Tenets of Trikarle

The tenets of Trikarle are instilled in all Mirialan children from a very young age. They are taught the basic principles of the religion, but are never told they must follow it. Instead, they are informed that their actions effect the destinies of all Mirialans everywhere. If they follow in the footsteps of their forefathers, then the Mirialan race will prosper. However, if, they chose another path, all of their race would be affected. The path of their forefathers was one of peace, tranquility and harmony. The desire of Trikarle adherents is to maintain a reasonable calm attitude towards everything and everyone. They seek peace, and the benefit of all Mirialans, not just the individual Mirialan.

However, Trikarle is not completely pacifistic. If a member of the faith is endangered, he is permitted to take the necessary steps to defend and protect himself and his family. Members of the faith are also permitted to engage in just cause combat, such as defending the weak, or fighting for ideals. Fighting for personal glory, or gain is forbidden

The end goal of Trikarle is enlightenment. Communion with the supreme goddess is the desire of Trikarle followers in the afterlife. However, many Mirialans believe there is something beyond Trikara, something that permeates all life. Being mildly intune with the Force, Mirialans often combined the teachings of Trikarle with the ways of the Force.

Life

Trikarle views life as a gift to be used to better all those around them. The goddess gives all sentients skills to benefit others and themselves.

With regard to others, followers of Trikarle believe all are equal before Trikara and that she favors those that work to advance the destiny of others. Thus followers of Trikarle actively seek to serve others and be of use to those around them. This is often demonstrated through generosity and kindness to the less fortunate around them. It also manifests in various acts of philanthropy and charity. Life lived in service to others is the ultimate goal of the Trikarle faith.

Death

Death is not something that followers of the Trikarle faith fear. Instead, they embrace the idea, believing it unites them with the goddess Trikara in eternal enlightenment. This makes them fearless in both battle and life. However, they do not seek death. instead, they seek to better others by their life, or by their death. Their belief is that by helping others in life, their afterlife will be better and they will be closer to enlightenment.

Statement of Belief

Those who follow Trikarle teachings believe that if they contribute positively toAmena, the destiny of their fellow believers, they will have a better and more fulfilling stay in the afterlife. The ultimate afterlife is oneness with the goddess Trikara. To obtain this afterlife, they will basically attempt to earn it through good deeds, helping others and fighting just cause conflicts. While Trikarle does not allow for religious wars, it does permit those following the religion to engage in conflict which are just. Liberation wars, battles against criminals and against forces considered evil by the faith are all permissible. Trikarle is very disorganize, in that there is not religious head, nor can there exist one. However, clerics of Trikara can unite in council to speak with the goddess and discern her will. When the religion was confined to Mirial, this was a yearly event, but it has since become one called only in times of great necessity.
