Zethos Yarl is just a simple man trying to make his way in the universe. In the past, Zethos has served in the Hapes Consortium and as a journalist for Galaxywide NewsNets. As an employee he is insubordinate but very reliable. He is intelligent, cocky, and sarcastic. A superior tactician, he can defend himself in a street fight against several foes. In his spare time, he is often found in a darkened cantina sipping a Corellian ale and impatiently waiting for a chance to do something great.
Biography
Born into an impoverished Corellian family on Nar Shaddaa, a filthy planet known as "The Smuggler's Moon," Zethos Yarl was the son of a disgraced Imperial officer whom he only saw but once in his lifetime. Zethos was raised by his simple-minded mother, Alexis, a part-time prostitute who owned a dilapidated hovel and sold various mechanical parts. Zethos has an older brother named Matthias Yarl, but Matthias disappeared when Zethos was young to join the Rebellion and he never learned what became of him.
When Zethos was eighteen years old, his pock-marked mother died due to an infection by neural parasites. Alone and angry at the galaxy, Zethos desired to become a bounty hunter in order to revenge himself upon those numerous criminals who had harassed and violated his mother when he was a child. However, fate had other plans.
In order to leave Nar Shaddaa forever, Zethos booked passage aboard a tramp steamer captained by Karl the Wookiee, an ill-tempered creature with giant fangs. Although the Wookiee greatly disliked foul-smelling Zethos, the hairy beast nevertheless honored their bargain and together they departed the Smuggler's Moon within a week for Altyr V. The voyage was hazardous one due to an astrographic miscaclulation that resulted in a minor collision with an asteroid. Further trouble ensued when the Wookiee captain strangled to death a Nemoidian passenger for cheating during a Sabacc game. Despite these problems, Zethos successfully arrived on Altyr V and, within a week, was approached by smooth-talking recruiters employed by Hapes Consortium.
Shortly thereafter, Zethos joined the Hapan Navy and was dispatched on several long-range reconnaissance missions in hidden systems. Disillusioned by the bureaucratic ineptitude of Hapes, Zethos resigned his commission after a drunken brawl with a Hapan officer and joined Galaxywide NewsNets as a field reporter. He eventually became a prospector and, at the moment, leads a hand-to-mouth existence in backwater worlds in the Outer Rim.
