The Blackscale Clan is the oldest surviving can of the Trandoshan clans. Founded thousands of years ago, much of its history is lost to time, but the early Blackscales were known to be a violent and isolationist clan, even by Trandoshan standards. For this reason, they were therefore mostly avoided by the other clans of the time. Blackscale Trandoshans are raised from a young age to excel at hunting, and for this reason, produce some of the most feared and prolific bounty hunters in the galaxy.

In modern times, the clan is lead by the Tandoshan who was known to have scored the most Jagannath points, sometimes changing leadership multiple times in a year. Cirxis Cronossk of the Blackscale Slavers is the current leader of the Blackscale clan with a confirmed 794 kills, mostly Wookiee.
