Onboard the Battle Dragon HRS Honour in system Lorell.

As this week's episode of "Imps of our Lives" draws to a close, the symbol of the Hapes Consortium appears momentarily. Yes, yet another disruption of your daily viewing time by a government official who seems to think his words matter to you, but they probably don't. Regardless, the seal vanishes quickly, to be replaced by a tall, exotic looking man. Its obvious from the limiting viewing area of the camera that the small area is rather packed with military reporters. Behind him, on the wall, the crest of the Lorell Garrison can be seen. The HNN broadcasting station shows the location to be that of the HRS Honour, the flagship of the Royal Hapan Navy's 1st Fleet.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the man identified as Vice Admiral Lord Vang Tyrridon begins, "I apologize for disrupting your day. After careful consideration and consultation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I come before you to clarify of what may be little importance to most of you, but is of serious importance to those of us here in the cluster."

Pausing, he takes a sip of a glass of water, and then continues his speach. "Earlier, a clip from aboard a vessel from the Order of Krath was played over the GNS network. In this clip, what appears to be the acquisition of stolen property of The Antarian Rangers is displayed. While I am still uncertain regarding the precise details of this situation - I've heard the stories of both sides and have yet to see conclusive evidence supporting either side's position - I am more concerned that the Order of Krath has attempted to implicate Hapan involvement in this situation."

"In the recording," he continues, the scowl on his face deepening, "a voice nearly identical to my own is heard to authorize Order of Krath ships for entrance into the system. Later, it shows Thraken Solo supposedly thanking me for my 'cooperation.' He also supposedly informed me of 'rogue forces' threatening ships in space I am responsible for."

"Let me be clear on this matter: I have not had contact with Mister Solo for several weeks now and I do not appreciate either him or any of his subordinates attempting to use my name and voice to implicate Hapan involvement in these affairs. Furthermore, I have never tolerated the theft of any ships in the Lorell System or in any location under my supervision. Those found to be doing such shall reap the fruits of their labor, either at the time the infraction occurs or afterwards."

"On another note, regarding The Antarian Rangers..." Lord Tyrridon sighs briefly. "My own opinion on this matter is divided. Though I do pity them for what occurred, it was also their own fault for trusting a known traitor. Several of us in the upper echelons of the Consortium attempted to warn them regarding Lucas Parahopper's previous conduct, but they chose their own fate."

"As for threats from the group itself in the system, I could attempt to prevent and prosecute every single threat that occurred in this system, but then I would spend so much time in the court I would hardly be able to concentrate on my real job, that being the defense of this system. Let them make threats, but realize that should they attempt to fire upon anyone, they will be dealt with in the same manner as anyone who fires a weapon in this system - complete and utter destruction. I make no exceptions in this regard. Furthermore, if you attempt to return fire, you will also suffer Hapan prosecution. I will accept no brushfires in this system, period."

"Order of Krath, I have no quarrel with you. However, I will make it clear that should you continue to falsify my voice and use my name to lend improper credence to your actions, you will no longer be welcome in this system or in the cluster as a whole. Hapes is neutral. Neutral in the galactic war and neutral in your conflict. We have no attachments to either side now, so do not think to draw us into your conflict. Good day."

A blank screen displaying the seal of the Hapes Consortium appears for another heartbeat and then you are finally returned to your standard daily viewing...
