Given its size, the Mon Calamari Attack Sub is considered surprisingly agile and fast. Using the same sleek lines that made the Calamari capital ships so renowned for their elegance and practicality, the Attack Sub utilizes its space to the fullest extent. The sensors and ECM modules are mounted inside hydrodynamic blisters on the top, bottom and sides of the sub providing maximum coverage at minimal drag dynamic cost. The stern of the sub has some buoyancy cells, but is dedicated to the power core which drives a water jet system at the rear of the sub. The core and bow contain a more complex and extensive buoyancy system that allows for rapid ascent and decent. The forecastle is a sleek elongated blister, located towards the top of the bow and slightly to the port side on the vessel. The torpedo room, engineering, and all other areas of the ship are easily accessible from the myriad passages that extend from the forecastle, making the crew complement of the sub smaller than would be necessary given its size. As in typical Calamari battle design, there are no central sleeping quarters. Rather, the bunks are dispersed throughout the ship to cut possible losses in case of surprise attack, and to improve response time when all crew are called to battle stations.
