Ngsasekhohlo

Ngsasekhohlo is one of nine The Cardinal Swords of Tau. The sword was forged by the master-smith Noghri Bladesmith Sekou Tau himself and embodies the essence of the south.

Forging

Ngsasekhohlo was forged seventh among the Cardinal Swords. Noghri Blademaster Tau embodied Ngsasekhohlo with the essence of the east. The essence of the east is a complex essence. While parts are unknown, the essence of the east contains a mix of mountain air, fog and cold breeze. During the forging process, the blade was repeatedly held up to the east wind to capture as much of its essence as possible. This essence of the east gives the blade an added combat advantage. When Ngsasekhohlo is swung through the air, it generates a dense fog cloud, shielding its wielder from view of his opponent. Upon connecting with an object or sentient, the sword generates a searing cold sensation causing frostbite and lowering the opponents combat response time. Ngsasekhohlo also generates a blast of cold air as it is swung, temporarily distracting any nearby opponents. Due to the care needed to avoid frostbite, the forging process for this blade was over a month in length.

Battle-testing and Ownership

Upon the completion of the forging process, the sword is turned over to a Var Kelen high priest. This priest endows it with special Force powers, unique to the Cardinal Swords. Once this was done, an acolyte field tests the weapon, ensuring that it was of sufficient caliber to be sold. Ngsasekhohlo underwent difficult field testing. The acolyte charged with testing Ngsasekhohlo attacked a pair of Varactyl. The incredible force of the Varactyl was no match for Ngsasekhohlo. Having passed the combat testing, Ngsasekhohlo was placed on the market, but not just to anyone. The Cardinal Swords are priced to be for those who understand their true value and will thus put them to good use. Ngsasekhohlo was purchased by Alysia Kaine of Mecrosa.
