The Scotia is a star cruiser of the MC-60 model that serves as the flagship of Tomas o`Cuinn's Woldona Defense Fleet. Stationed in the Woldona system, the MC-60 star cruiser is tasked with the defense of the sector and system from any foreign or domestic threat. The warship is captained by Maarek Stele, though o`Cuinn reserves the right to assume command when necessary. Prior to Year 18 (CGT), the Scotia was stationed in the Gree system.
Background
The MC-60 model is a lighter variant of the MC-80 cruiser series and was the first Mon Calamari design intended primarily to serve as a warship. While unable to effectively engage an Imperial Star Destroyer on its own, the MC-60 relies on operating in packs or with the support of frigates and starfighters, vastly increasing its operational capabilities. Combined with the support ships, defensive stations, and reserve squadrons of starfighters in the Woldona system, the Scotia provides an effective deterrent to anyone who would seek to attack Tomas o`Cuinn's interests in the Sevetta sector.
This particular MC-60 star cruiser, galactic registry ID#458950, was manufactured by Holowan Mechanicals and The Resistance in Year 17 (CGT). Shortly after, a New Republic Senate-approved trade deal between Tomas o`Cuinn, then-CEO of the Gree Trade Authority, and Crueya Vandron, Supreme Commander of The Resistance, transferred the cruiser in the hands of the former. Commissioned as the GSS Scotia, the MC-60 was assigned to the defense of the Gree system. When Tomas traded Gree for the Homon and Sevetta sectors in Year 18 (CGT), the warship was recommissioned as the RMS Scotia and reassigned to the Woldona for the same purpose.
