Early Career (Years 2-4)

The man known as Slicer enlisted with the Imperial Core in Year 2 under the leadership of Admiral Jennifer Dreighton. He continued to serve through the reorganization into the Dark Empire where he first came into contact with Emperor Vodo Bonias. Shortly before the infamous merger with the Galactic Empire, Slicer joined what would become the Order of the Dark Hand underneath Sith Master Vodo. Commanded at the time by Admiral Machkhit, Slicer served at the rank of Captain, leading the Emperor's star fighter squadrons.

The Order was at the center of conflict not long after the merger between the two Empires when Emperor Charon sent ISB Director Matrel Byden to seize control of the Order's ships with the help of Admiral Machkhit. Vice Admiral Dreighton was arrested on board the flagship Darkness and the fleet was flown back to Coruscant. On arrival, Vodo and Darth Knyte reinstated the Order and freed the captive Admiral. To prevent another potential civil war from breaking out, Grand Admiral Veynom arrived to help settle the issue diplomatically. It was then determined that the newly revealed Sith Lord Uebles should lead the Empire, with Vodo Bonias as his Exector while Emperor Charon chose to abandon the Empire and enter exile.

Captain Slicer served diligently through most of the reign of Emperor Uebles, briefly taking command of the Order until he was struck with an illness which prevented him from serving, regretfully, in the Battle of Beta. He recovered shortly into Emperor Vodo's reign. Upon return to active service, he was introduced by the new Emperor to Daelin Zerk, a skilled administrator who had risen through the ranks quickly in the aftermath of Beta. As Emperor Vodo took power and organized his administration, he placed Zerk at the head of the Navy. Wanting some change in his career, and some possibilities to branch out, Captain Slicer turned down the Emperor's offer to rejoin the Order, and instead asked the Emperor for a commission in the Imperial Navy. Slicer quickly became friends with Admiral Zerk since the two had many similar ideologies and soon the Captain found himself serving in the 2nd Sector Fleet underneath his former commander, Machkhit, as well as Commodore Incubus Kaine.

After a short time Slicer succeeded Kaine as the fleet's executive officer and was promoted to Commodore. Proving himself to be a capable and skilled leader, Slicer was next given the prestigious command of the 1st Assault Fleet, a command normally only held by the acting Navy Commanding Officer. Leading the 1st Assault Fleet in the Allied Tion campaign, and serving alongside Rear Admiral Crog's 2nd Assault Fleet in the Bacta Wars earned Slicer much esteem in the eyes of Emperor Vodo and Admiral Zerk. Slicer received a promotion to Rear Admiral and a number of ribbons for his service.

Navy High Command (Years 4-6)

Admiral Zerk soon retired from the Navy to become Grand Moff and virtually the master of the Empire during the frequent absences of Emperor Vodo. He appointed Admiral Goth to the position of Navy Commanding Officer and Rear Admiral Crog to the position of Navy Executive Officer. Slicer rose to take the position of Navy Chief of Staff.

Goth did not last long as the Navy CO, after disagreements with Grand Moff Zerk he was driven into retirement. Rear Admiral Crog took the seat vacated by Goth and Rear Admiral Slicer became the new Navy Executor Officer, both Rear Admirals were given a double promotion to Admiral.

As the newly appointed Navy Executive Officer, Slicer spent much of his time communicating with the many officers of the Imperial Navy and trying to orchestrate policy reforms. During this time he became friends with one particular officer, Commodore Michael Pangborn. Slicer and Pangborn worked together for over a year developing much needed policy reforms for the Navy and reorganizing the fleets into a more general and capable design than what existed previously. Primarily this involved the removal of Assault Fleet and Sector Fleet status, and merging the two designs into a single fleet which they simply named Imperial. At the time, the Imperial Navy consisted of two assault fleets, which handled most offensive operations, and at least four sector fleets which mostly idled and patrolled their designated home sectors. The new Imperial Fleets were given zones of operation that covered not just their home sectors, but neighboring allied, neutral, and enemy sectors as well. From now on, each of the fleets would be given a chance to participate in significant operations that had a real impact on the galaxy.

As Navy XO, Slicer spent time as the Fleet CO of the 1st Imperial Fleet which was a merger of the 1st Assault Fleet and one of the sector fleets. Taking the former Order of the Dark Hand flagship Darkness as his own command vessel, Slicer was lauded for the care he gave his subordinates and his leadership skills, as well as the respect he showed to his fellow officers.

The Empire on Fire (Year 6)

Despite these successes, Slicer and Pangborn regularly argued with Admiral Crog and Grand Moff Zerk over their faulty leadership as well as their often neglecting and sometimes abusive behaviors. Near the end of Year 6, Rear Admiral Kaine, who was universally admired throughout the Empire, was murdered personally by Grand Moff Zerk who also sought out Kaine's sister, Saige Kippenbrock. These actions sparked a veritable powder keg in the Empire. Officers and enlisted alike from all branches came together to protest the actions of Zerk and to demand his removal from power. Secretly and early on, Slicer reached out to Grand Admiral Veynom, hoping to avoid violence and to find a peaceful resolution, his concerns were noted, but dismissed. Within a week, several leading Imperials representing the various branches came together privately to discuss their options. Among them were Slicer and Pangborn who represented the Navy at the meeting. Jointly a document was constructed that declared the injustices committed by Grand Moff Zerk and pleaded with Emperor Vodo to remove Zerk from his positions of power. In response, Emperor Vodo expelled all signers of the document along with suspected associates from the Galactic Empire. What became known as the NIO Rebellion had begun.

The NIO Rebellion (Year 6)

This was a critical moment in the Empire's history and in the career of Slicer, the results of the rebellion would shake the Empire to its core and result in a second split of the government. Slicer and Pangborn immediately began working together to reach out to those officers and enlisted who were not aware of the situation and many of the injustices that had been hidden from them for the sake of morale and stability. Every Navy fleet answered the call of the Navy Executor and the Navy Chief of Staff and entire fleets began defecting from the Galactic Empire in mass. At the core of this movement were the Fleet CO's and XO's, along with other high ranking Navy officers, after them followed the many junior officers and enlisted men. Garren Karrade who had been appointed as the leader of a special organization in the last year representing enlisted men of the Empire with the intent to provide a friendly social environment also played a key role. Karrade rallied many of the enlisted men who did not automatically follow their superior officers in defecting. The Imperial Army, COMPNOR, and the Regional Government largely avoided the conflict, though several members from those groups also joined the gathering movement. Of those who chose to stay in the Empire, many became informants for the movement passing along communications and news from inside the Empire to the rebels.

The movement quickly grabbed the attention of the galaxy sparking outcries of support from many collectives and prominent beings throughout the galaxy. Grand Admiral Veynom soon became involved in the situation hoping to avoid a major split in the government like the one he had caused so many years ago. At the same time, a council was gathering of the various leaders and supporters of the movement, which now represented an astonishing 150+ member count. To the disappointment of Slicer and Pangborn, the council grew to incorporate various non-Imperial supporters, several of them members of deposed Emperor Charon's administration, and the council membership began pushing for more organization and leadership. Slicer, though asked to lead, opted out knowing acceptance might make reconciliation impossible with him as a symbol that Emperor Vodo could more easily attack. Slicer felt that the leadership should instead maintain itself as a representative body and avoid taking on the characteristics of a separate government knowing that doing so might force a split. After the leadership elected Garren Karrade instead, there was soon a serious push towards establishing an independent entity that the leadership was starting to call the New Imperial Order. Continuing influence on Karrade and others caused many to begin demanding that Vodo needed to be deposed as well as Zerk, and that any treaty short of that should not be accepted by the movement.

Secretly, Slicer and Pangborn decided to continue talks with Emperor Vodo that were moderated by Grand Admiral Veynom. Their hope was not to betray their fellows, but to continue seeking a resolution that would not cause serious harm to the Empire, and because many members of the leadership began refusing to talk with Vodo, they felt forced to do so without the participation of those members. Shortly, Vodo capitulated to many of the demands that the original leadership of the movement had made. All were granted amnesty for a period of several months, any crimes were to be forgiven, any prisoners were to be released, and all privileges were to be restored. Zerk was removed from his position as Grand Moff and lost administrative power over most branches of the Empire. Unfortunately when Slicer and Pangborn brought the proposed treaty back to the group to be discussed, they were immediately branded as traitors with no chance to explain themselves, they were blacklisted and the leadership began a serious move towards creating a new government independent of the Galactic Empire.

A Restored Empire (Year 6)

Within 24 hours of this rebuff from the leadership of the newly formed New Imperial Order, Slicer and Pangborn along with other high ranking members of the Navy, Army, and COMPNOR decided to move against their former allies. Within days all but one of the Navy fleets that had defected with the Admirals rejoined the Empire along all of their officers and personnel. Two Fleet Commanders remained, Rawius Titan and Adam Diggins who kept a small number of active members in the NIO along with most of Titan's fleet. Over the weeks and months that followed, Slicer and Pangborn continued to reach out to disenfranchised Imperials who were uncertain about their futures along with existing members of the newly formed NIO. Aside from personnel, the Order was unable to obtain any Imperial technology, ships, territory, or credits. In later years this was something that was often diluted by the Order's propaganda machine, but estimates at the time suggested that the Order only kept 20-30 of the estimated 150+ original membership. As the Order moved forward, they grew and recruited, but continued to lose their original members at a steady rate. Despite the efforts of both organizations, many Imperials also took this opportunity to leave the Core Worlds and seek their fortunes elsewhere. Adam Zad and Adam Diggins were some of the best known Imperials who took this route. This great struggle between the two organizations continued for many years to come.

The Same Book, A New Cover (Years 6-7)

When the Galactic Empire finally did settle back down, it started to become clear that very little had actually changed. Zerk lost his Grand Moff title, but was given a new one, Chief of Staff, essentially third in command of the Empire. He did lose some of his influence over the military branches, but kept his authority over the Regional Government and COMPNOR. This brought him into constant conflict with other Imperials once again and on a very regular basis. It is safe to say that at the time, Zerk was almost universally hated and blamed for the problems of the Empire. However, in his position he stood in for Emperor Vodo who was often absent, and for Darth Knyte who was always absent.

As a part of the treaty, the Emperor demanded that Slicer and Pangborn be split up. Pangborn was sent to the Regional Government to work under Zerk, while Slicer was left as the Navy Executive Officer. While this probably made sense to the Emperor, splitting up the team that had caused so much trouble for him, it was in fact a blessing in disguise for the duo. While Pangborn was unhappy to leave the Navy and go to work as a civilian, the separation paved the way for a multi-branch alliance that would propel both men to greater heights within the Empire and bring their opponents crashing down. Together the two worked covertly to enforce existing policies that moved the Empire slowly in the direction they wanted. Both men used their alliance and the freedom allowed by their mostly inactive superiors to appoint not just favored and like minded persons to positions of power like previous administrations, but primarily people who were actually qualified to hold those positions and who would focus their efforts on what came to be thought of as "positive policy."

As time moved forward, Admiral Crog grew less active and less involved in the running of the Navy, leaving the task almost entirely to Admiral Slicer, except for Crog's vote and influence on Imperial High Command. This could only continue on for so long however before the Emperor finally took notice and decided to act. Despite the clear need to appoint a new Navy CO, Slicer was still neglected by the Emperor for his participation in the earlier rebellion, so he reached deep into the pockets of the Navy and elevated Fleet Admirals Samurai and Machkhit to the NCO and NXO position citing the ever increasing public conflict between Slicer and Crog as reason for removing both from their positions. Slicer continued on as Navy Chief of Staff, while Crog moved into a place holder position on IHC, retaining his rank while Slicer was demoted to Rear Admiral.

The Balance Shifts (Year 7)

It was during this period of time that several very good things happened for Slicer. Firstly, Zerk was finally removed from all authority due to the rapidly increasing hate for him and his policies, he stormed out of the Empire and never came back.

Next, the Emperor had come to rely on Pangborn and his work in the civilian branches greatly, much in the same why he had been reliant on Zerk, however Pangborn was not well liked by the rest of Imperial High Command, and like Slicer, his reputation as a maverick left him unfit politically to hold higher office in the eyes of many. So a plan was decided by the Emperor to give Pangborn a new identity, one with history, and one that would command the respect of his peers. They faked his death. While it was not meant to be widely known, Pangborn kept his ally and friend, Slicer, along with other key Imperials aware of events. The Emperor decided to wrap Pangborn in the identity of the former Admiral Goth who had not been heard from since his departure. Immediately, "Goth" was accepted by IHC and eventually promoted to Grand Moff for the Empire.

At the same time, Admiral Machkhit took a leave from the Navy, and Fleet Admiral Samurai promoted Rear Admiral Slicer back up the ladder to Admiral, and then to Fleet Admiral right before he himself departed, suggesting that the Emperor appoint Slicer to be the Navy Commanding Officer. Vodo had no choice, whether it still mattered to him or not is not known, but he quickly and quietly confirmed Fleet Admiral Slicer's appointment. While these seem like major events that would take place over a great deal of time, they in fact took only a few months. Though Slicer had earned the position by his own merits, virtually running the Navy unofficially under Admiral Crog and then Fleet Admiral Samurai; Chief of State Goth gave Vodo an extra push to accept Samurai's recommendation.

Within a very short period of time, Slicer had become the head of the largest branch in the Empire, and "Goth" had become virtually the head all the civilian branches.

What Seemed a Golden Age (Years 7-10)

At this point the story does not pick up much more interest. Slicer and Goth continued to work together, now overtly, and in time the Navy became the most influential and powerful branch in the Empire with the help of both men who saw the importance of the average Imperial citizen over the bickering politics that had previously dominated the Imperial Government. For probably the first time since Grand Admiral Veynom's era, the Navy was freed from all bonds of servitude to other branches, they ruled themselves, the ISB had no authority over them, II did not go near them, and RADE which had been dissolved after Zerk walked away was integrated into Navy High Command which delegated ships of all kinds to the branches and personnel that had need of them. The system was very organized, but also free-flowing and easily adaptable to changing circumstances. Because of the communication and co-operation between Slicer and Goth this free-handed approach to government was not only possible, but very effective.

Years passed in this fashion and the galaxy changed. After the retirement of Pro-Consul Zee Wulf, Goth became Pro-Consul and the heir apparent while he began major construction projects along with an overhaul of the civilian branches. What happened next is up for debate, but this account is purely from Fleet Admiral Slicer's perspective and no one else.

It All Comes Crashing Down (Year 10)

After almost three years, Slicer found himself consumed and overwhelmed with the task of running the Navy and its now vast operations. Attempts to band-aid the situation by delegating more work and promoting more Admirals were failing and no successor appeared ready to handle these titanic responsibilities. Slicer went deeper into a private state as he attempted to hold the Navy together under his careful administration, and because of this, he and Goth grew apart by virtue of simple distance between what each man was doing. In this last year of Slicer's administration, Goth seemed to grow vain as massive construction swept through the galaxy and brought much more importance to the civilian branches apart from COMPNOR. Goth also grew more certain that Vodo would step down any day now and leave the Empire to him officially. Unfortunately it became more and more apparent that this was not the case driving Goth to become angry and petulant.

At this time, Slicer finally received a reprieve in the form of "Calor Assam," who was in fact the true Admiral Goth in disguise. Slicer was tired and more than happy to hand over more and more authority to his friend and former mentor. In hindsight, this was very reckless and went far too quickly, Assam was a great Admiral and a worthy successor, but he proved to be very different from the man Slicer had known years ago. Too quickly, Slicer struck a bargain with Emperor Vodo, with the help of Pro-Consul Goth that granted Slicer something he had long worked for, a promotion to Grand Admiral, but there was a cost. Vodo felt that a Grand Admiral should hold the rank of military commanding officer, not just NCO, and Slicer was all too eager to hand things over to Assam while accepting a job that was very different from what he understood it to be.

As his first task, Slicer was directed to focus on reforming the Army which Vodo and Goth both felt was in dire need of attention. The Army officers did not feel the same way of course and Slicer had a hard time earning their friendship and trust, though this became easier when Dale Chambers chose to vacate the position of Army Commanding Officer. Slicer eventually promoted Bacara Kex to the position of ACO and the two developed a close friendship. After doing what he could to reform the Army with the help of Kex, Slicer was directed to find some way to bridge the gap between the Army and Navy which had grown over time. Ultimately it seemed to be the wish of the Pro-Consul to merge the Army and Navy branches into one single branch and though Slicer supported this idea privately he felt compelled to advocate the concerns of the Army Officers who were very opposed to such a merger despite the efforts of Slicer to lay down an acceptable framework.

As it became more apparent that a merger was not going to happen any time soon the Grand Admiral looked for other ways to bring the Army and Navy together, initially creating a military intelligence unit, intended to replace the long dead Imperial Intelligence division, which was comprised of personnel from both branches. Though the branch itself achieved many successes on its own, Calor Assam felt that his control over the Navy was being usurped by the Grand Admiral. Even after handing the division over to Assam as a way to maintain peace between the branches, he grew selfish and insecure, eventually forcing the Grand Admiral to disband the division due to Assam's poor leadership and antagonistic behavior to the Army officers involved in the project. The disbanding of the division was seen by Calor as a grave insult to his person though it was never the intention of Slicer to do that, he was perhaps a bit too clumsy in the handling of the situation. These offenses continued to stack up in the mind of Calor Assam who began working with Pro-Consul Goth to subvert the works of Slicer in his role as military commander.

Over a very brief period of time, greater and more ridiculous expectations were put on Slicer, and every effort was made by the Pro-Consul and NCO to limit the authority of the Grand Admiral, eventually reducing it to a mere advisory position. Unfortunately, Slicer was not immune to many insults that were racking up against him either. In a very weak moment of mental break down, Slicer revealed some buried secrets during an Imperial High Command meeting that were not very flattering for the Pro-Consul. At the heart of this was a previous, though not too long ago, attempt by the Pro-Consul to hold the Empire hostage and demand Vodo step down. The Pro-Consul, without the knowledge of IHC and most Imperials sent his guard to seize control of several planets, space stations, and other facilities. The matter was dealt with quickly by the Emperor and had been kept very quiet up to the point where Slicer chose to attack the Pro-Consul's character and career during the meeting. Slicer was severely punished by the Emperor, receiving a demotion to Fleet Admiral and being required to formally apologize to the Pro-Consul. The Pro-Consul was forced to apologize as well, but no other punishments were levied against him. However, these revelations and the treatment of Slicer did not go unnoticed by members of IHC, many of whom began to grow very hostile towards Goth.

The Trial of Slicer (Year 10)

The situation in the Empire grew more serious as lines began to be drawn. Many members of IHC and officers of the Empire began to take a closer look at the behavior of both Admiral Assam and Pro-Consul Goth. Some of these began to privately speak out against both men and pretty soon Goth got wind of these whisperings, his first thought was to put down yet another Imperial rebellion before it could begin, though it is not clear that the situation would have ever escalated to that point. Goth made good use of his power to threaten those around him into submission and to punish anyone found to be making unacceptable whether private or public.

Unfortunately something happened in this period of chaos that gave the Pro-Consul exactly the excuse he needed to put the final nail in Slicer's coffin. A rogue Imperial officer made good of his status and privileges to take revenge against Calor Assam and his increasingly insane demands. Calor was cornered, captured, and to cement the insult, he was flown into a nearby sun. The true motives of this rogue were never known despite the efforts of the Pro-Consul, Emperor, and eventually Slicer as well in an attempt to clear his name.

There are a lot of reasons why, at this point, charges were brought up against the Fleet Admiral for conspiracy and treason. Not the least of which were the ever increasing insults exchanged between the former friends. Responsibility and blame was placed on Slicer for not catching the rogue before he acted, despite the reduction of Slicer's authority and privileges to nearly nothing. The Emperor demanded Slicer turn himself in for arrest, along with several known associates including Bacara Kex. A few fled, but Slicer and Kex turned themselves in voluntarily, though a great deal of effort went into convincing Imperials that Slicer and Kex had been "captured."

The first few days were a rush of accusations. The Emperor, fearing that some comrade of Slicer's might seek to free him or that some enemy might seek to kill him, put the greatest possible security around the Admiral, initially bribing some Imperials before he could be handed over to a Sith apprentice, and eventually her master, Gunther von Esling. Earning the trust of his captors was easy, and most of them were more than happy to relay and accept messages between Slicer and various other Imperials. In this way the Admiral was able to keep up with events and reach out to combat the Pro-Consul who was using every ounce of his power to turn Imperials against Slicer and influence the trial that Emperor Vodo had declared would take place.

To this day, it is not entirely certain whether the Emperor simply felt the trial would avoid a rebellion and deliver quick justice, or whether he was genuinely concerned and interested in the results. What is known is that such a trial had not been held in nearly a decade, most criminals and suspected criminals chose to flee rather than risk imprisonment and almost certain execution. The actions of Slicer were an enormous surprise to most Imperials whether they thought him innocent or guilty.

As the trial got started, the Pro-Consul was given the task of selecting the prosecution, while Emperor Vodo selected the judges and recommended that Valusa, the current chairwoman of the Imperial Union, take on Slicer's case. Unfortunately this is a period of time that many are curious about, but in truth the entire affair was very simple. The prosecution only had circumstantial evidence against the Admiral, and Goth attempted to press false information on the investigators he had appointed. Quickly, the trial became less about Calor Assam and more about the Pro-Consul and the state of the Empire. All the way to the end, the trial was deadlocked in a stalemate. The head judge, Lord Admiral Machkhit, and his lower judge Azrakh Raleep were nearly ready to hand out a verdict not guilty when the Pro-Consul began attempting to block the decision of the court by persuading IHC to disregard the judgement and make a new decision.

This was a serious crossing point for the Pro-Consul, the judge still had not delivered their verdict and IHC was lining up to make a decision without reviewing the events of the trial. Ultimately, IHC was split down the middle, and the Emperor chose to demand a final decision from the judges while staying out of the IHC arguments. It became clear that the final decision would lay with the Emperor regardless of any other decision and no one could guess which way the Emperor would go.

During the events of the trial, another serious discussion was taking place. From his lavish cell on board Gunther von Esling's private ship, Slicer had reached out to friends outside of the Empire who might speak to his character. Perhaps because of the trial, or perhaps because the opportunity simply seemed ripe, Lord Seele, who had been in contact with Slicer, began negotiating with the Emperor on behalf of the New Imperial Order and to some lesser degree on behalf of Slicer himself. I say on behalf of Slicer because Seele targeted the major hiccup in Slicer's situation, the Pro-Consul. Somewhere along the line an agreement was made that would merge the two Empires finally and remove the Pro-Consul who seemed to be growing crazier every day as he hit more road bumps in his attempt to collect Slicer's head.

Emperor Vodo agreed to confront the Pro-Consul who became so furious and insane that he flew his personal ship into the nearest sun. Almost immediately, the trial turned around for Slicer, the pressure from IHC evaporated and Adar Machkhit issued his verdict of not guilty which was later confirmed by Emperor Vodo.

A New Beginning (Year 10 - Year 12)

After his release, Slicer was integrated back into the Imperial Navy at the reduced rank of Captain. He took a few short weeks to re-cooperate, during which the merger with the New Imperial Order was mostly completed. The events of the last year had caused Slicer to lose his taste for the military and its politics, he knew he was no longer interested in the overseeing of fleets and the never ending procession of Imperial recruits, so he began to look at his options. Almost immediately, Slicer began to receive job offers both within the Empire and without. Although he had lost his taste for the military, he knew deep inside that he was an Imperial at heart and could not make a break with the Empire even after everything that had happened. He was quick to accept one of the first invitations, an offer from Moff Adar Machkhit to become the Sector Adj of Kuat. Slicer knew he would have to start at a reduced rank regardless, but surprisingly the loss of rank did not seem to bother him in the slightest.

After the better part of a year, and working all the way back up into the Command ranks as a true Sector Adj, Slicer received an offer from the newly appointed Executor, Guinar Ndengin. Slicer's efforts had once again caught the attention of IHC, no doubt thanks in part to Moff Machkhit's glowing reports, and he was offered the newly created Moffdom of the Extended Territories. This was not exactly an ideal job, it would consist of monitoring numerous planets spread across the galaxy along with many cities on foreign worlds, but one does not easily turn down the offer to become an Imperial Moff.

Slicer spent months working in the Territories, attempting to draw some order out of the chaos, and he succeeded in establishing a real foothold for the Empire in rebel space. It was the furthest Imperial development inside enemy territory, and though it was not a significant blow by any means to the rebels, it gave the new Moff crediblity. Not many months after this appointment, Slicer applied to the Moff Council and the Executor for command of the Corporate Sector whose Moff, Hack Skice, was stepping down.

In Year 10 Moff Slicer held command of the Corporate Sector and participated in Projects Scarlet and Crimson, under the command of Moff Tanez Kalrade, which reconfirmed the Galactic Empire as the dominate and true government of the galaxy.

By the start of Year 12, Slicer was moved to the Coruscant Oversector with the retirement of Moff Tanez Kalrade. Despite this position change, he was not given the title of Grand Moff nor true leadership of the Government branch. Much of this coincided with Guinar Ndengin's rise to Emperor and the appointment of Seele as Lord Executor. Many things began to change in the faction and gradually opposition to any ideas coming from Seele were quashed.

Final Years (Year 13 - Year 15)

By year 13, Slicer was attempting to make peace with Executor Seele and starting to make in roads as an ally. This work for peace was drastically undone without warning or reason, but Slicer had no choice but to continue his work as a Moff despite many warnings from friends that he should abandon the Empire. As Moff of Coruscant, Slicer was a good Moff, but his projects were often hampered by politics and infighting at the Imperial High Command level. Gradually support was withdraw from his work and little became of his efforts to improve the Oversector.

It is no secret that by Year 14 he was already talking to Orphaea Imperium and others about presenting proposals to the Emperor for Seele's removal. The Emperor was very sympathetic, but now often absent from his duties. Instead Seele grew more influential, using his control over Imperial Intelligence and COMPNOR to bully the military and the government. Long time, loyal members quite in frustration though there were no arrests or trials, only occasional firings.

By Year 15 Slicer was losing hope that the Emperor would step in, he began to feel the best hope for the Empire was that both Seele and Guinar would step down in time, but he never took any action to hasten this, nor did he speak out against either of them. In fact it is known that Slicer considered Guinar a close friend until his dying day.

Death of a Moff (Year 16)

While in the midst of performing his normal duties as Moff of the Coruscant Oversector. Moff Slicer's ship was hijacked by what appeared to be rogue Imperials, he was quickly assassinated without warning. Later, investigators would find that Lord Executor Seele had ordered an unsanctioned hit on the Moff for what were believed to be personal reasons. After the faction, the Emperor sanctioned the hit and made it official, though no trial was ever held as demanded by the law nor was any announcement made except to those who questioned the absence of the former Moff.

It is believed that this event may have been yet another trigger that drove other Imperials away from the Empire, at least some of whom must have questioned their safety. And so ends the adventure filled, but ultimately tragic story of Slicer. A loyal Imperial. A loyal friend. Cut down seemingly for being an offense to Lord Seele.
