The StarVengers were a feared outfit of galactic mercenaries that existed circa Year 3 and was led by Lukastar Narvaka. The motley unit was cobbled together by four veterans of the Black Dragons Escort Company. After establishing a headquarters on Ingo at the very edge of New Anzat Order territory, the StarVengers engaged in kidnapping and ransoming various notable figures for exorbitant sums. Their provocative acts ultimately sparked the Galactic Hostage Crisis and resulted in a galaxy-wide manhunt for their personnel. After existing for merely eight months, the StarVengers were ultimately destroyed by the avaricious Venom Kazvar and its assets merged into Kazvar's infamous Horizon Corporation.

History

Formation

In Year 3, President Lukastar Narvaka (also known as Lukakin Skywalker), his best friend Max Solusar, Squall Chitose, and Headmaster Flich collectively departed the Black Dragons Escort Company. The intrepid band formed a mercenary unit known as "the StarVengers." At that time, the StarVengers and The Wraiths were the two most notable mercenary groups in the galaxy.[2] Lukastar Narvaka appointed himself as Grand Admiral of the StarVengers, and Solusar was chosen as his trusted second-in-command. Squall Chitose, a future Eidola pirate,[3] was later appointed third-in-command. In the beginning, the StarVengers had only four personnel, but their ranks swelled with the enlistment of Vice Admiral Lynx Cor, Commodore Keilan Morgan, Line Captain Javal and Line General Dmitri Piett.[2]

Once their mercenary unit was formed and the ranking system established, The StarVengers colonized the beautiful planet of Ingo (previously identified by astral cartographers as Ordint). The planet was replete with sparkling glaciers, monstrous volcanoes, and swamps. The StarVengers used this planet as the headquarters of their for their mercenary contingent just outside of New Anzat Order space. Baron Arca Fenris, as defacto leader of the New Anzat Order, struck a deal with StarVengers and granted them recognized sovereignty over Ingo. However, an unexpected insurrection occurred within the New Anzat Order and Fenris was overthrown by Prime Minister Yarbles as ruler. Yarbles' new regime canceled the existing deal with The StarVengers. This decision created much tension between the StarVengers and the nearby Anzati government. The New Anzat Order would not pay the price that the StarVengers demanded in exchange for the planet. Both sides prepared for a violent conflict as vigorous negotiations failed to lead to an agreement that would allow both parties to be satisfied.

Infamy

While these latter tensions were increasing, a black-haired Wookiee brigand in The StarVengers known as Serj Seinwill kidnapped half-a-dozen important dignitaries who were allegedly plotting to murder or to overthrow Eldrik Kuraine. Seinwill's motives for this crime remain unknown. Nevertheless, the kidnapping and ransoming of these officials by The StarVengers created the incident known as the Galactic Hostage Crisis.[4] The ensuing outcry by various galactic governments damaged the StarVengers' reputation and resulted in a galaxy-wide manhunt for their personnel. On Year 3 Day 185, prominent figures in galactic politics such as Angobba the Hutt of The Hutt Council called for the galaxy to unite against "the disgusting criminals" known as The StarVengers and destroy them.[5] On Year 3 Day 186, Lord Tholin Dur'aak of the Falleen Federation also denounced the StarVengers' villainous actions and urged various great powers to cooperate in ensuring their destruction.[6]

Serj Seinwill, a StarVenger, was responsible for sparking the Galactic Hostage Crisis.

Shocked at the unified response of the galaxy against their terrorism and fearing a massive retaliation, the military council of the StarVengers held an emergency meeting. They decided to banish Serj Seinwill and pretend his actions were beyond their control.[7] Upon his disavowal by The StarVengers, Seinwill fled and was reportedly killed within the year. Other StarVengers' personnel soon fled as well, but were likewise caught by various galactic authorities.

Downfall

During this chaotic time, Lukastar Narvaka likewise chose to disappear on an unexplained leave-of-absence, and Solusar became the leader of the StarVengers. (Narvaka briefly returned from the Unknown Regions before disappearing for good. His whereabouts are unknown, although some old spacers swear to have seen his derelict ship in the Outer Rim.) During the troubled times that followed, a traitorous individual named Venom Kazvar stole the StarVengers' last battleship that Solusar and his subordinates were planning to use in their search for Narvaka. Eventually, Kazvar destroyed the StarVengers, and its former personnel were scattered throughout the galaxy.[8]

Years later, a StarVengers officer Squall Chitose would become leader of the Eidola Pirates, while Max Solusar would become the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Sector Authority. Ironically, the two would become bitter enemies as their rival organizations engaged in operations against each other.

Description

"A mercenary is a professional soldier hired to serve in a foreign army, working or acting merely for money or other rewards. Many centuries have passed since the creation the StarVengers by Argomst Narvaka. Argomst Narvaka wanted to create a small band of mercenaries who could be hired by people to do whatever they desired. He chose different people with different skills, and that was the beginning of the StarVengers.

The StarVengers are known throughout the galaxy not only for their elite pilots, but also for their skilled commandos. Their determination made them a force feared by many. Only a handful of these commandos turned the tide of the battle at Ukio where the landlords protected themselves against an overwhelming pirate force. Throughout the ages, the StarVengers grew from a small band of warriors to become one of the largest groups of mercenaries in the galaxy. Recently, a new leader has arisen in the StarVengers: Lukastar Narvaka. The last leader died when his ship crashed into a sun."[9]
