Avatars

We have real-people avatars for Connel, Uebles, Old Vodo, and Cherokee. We have an almost photorealistic avatar for Piett. We have non-person (cartoon/game character, etc) images for Mccarthur, Charon, and Young Vodo (these I'd like to get substituted for look-alike real-people avatars eventually).

We have nothing on Drayson, Suntzu or Spytek. Does anyone know anything about what avatars they might have used (ignoring that they were in the early days where avatar use was non-existent or minimal), or should we make up images for them? Drayson we could probably base on the canon Drayson, Suntzu would imply an Asian-looking avatar, Spytek could be tricky being he might have been non-human. Orphaea Imperium 06:19, 5 March 2011 (GMT)

Why would we need real people avatars to begin with?Personally, Real poeople avatar freak me out, because to me this is stealing the image of a really existing person and violating his or her rights (I am not talking about copyright here, this can be involved to, but cpyright would be a different can of worms). They alos raise the question, if the person depeicted is or is not the RL person ehind the character. Which is clearly not the case for non real people avatars. Now choosing an avatar is up to the user, so if someone chooses the image of a real person, I will not respect it, but I can't see, why it should be necessary to replace non-real people avatars with real people avatars for the wiki. Addititionally it is a matter of twisting history again. The image used as an avatar by a player at some time is as much a part of the history as anything else.--Dreighton 20:07, 6 March 2011 (GMT)

On the other hand not every darkness avatar is representation of the character - some are blatantly OOC or animals that have nothing to do with the characters or their races, e.g. Bunny had nothing to do with Kyle Rainer, who was Falleen, or Penguin had nothing to do with Jevons character, whatever his race is... IC/OOC separation. And this is supposed to be IC wiki, right? ;) --Xanyarr Chyakk 22:53, 6 March 2011 (GMT)
Spytek had some sort of cartoon character as his avatar, but I have no idea where it was from. Will need to do some research to figure it out. --Alex Tylger 23:34, 6 March 2011 (GMT)
