Akira Misato was born in year -9 on Af'El and immediately orphaned. The names of Akria's parents were never recorded, and so he was quickly taken in by a small group of Defel smiths. From an early age, Akira showed an aptitude for the craft, and started practice as early as age five. Starting with only basic armor repairs, by age ten Akira was fully capable of working in any Defel forge, able to craft complex heavy and powered armors, vibro weapons, blasters, and a few small ship components. At age fifteen, Akira left the Defel that raised him, moving to the surface of Af'El to a house he built for the sole purpose of surviving the storms that were there.
Away From Home
After Akira left the group of Defel that raised him, he spent the next five years on the surface of Af'El wearing specialized gear, testing himself on the planet, and digging up old records on his people. Akira quickly grew in determination. During his time on the surface, Akira suffered several serious injuries while scavenging for materials and supplies, honing his abilities as a thief, trader, and tracker. Several of the oldest histories of the Defel that Akira found during his more educational hours were in ancient languages, though the only ancient language Akria learned was his own people's, and is one of the few that can still read and write it.
