== Introduction ==

Late in the [[year 7]], members of [[Rebel Alliance High Command]] and [[SoroSuub Corporation]] Middle Management began to discuss the possibility of a merger between the two groups, realizing that the combination of the Alliance's military might and [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub's]] economic prosperity would give the [[Galactic Alliance]] the greatest chance of defeating the [[Galactic Empire|Empire]]. Delegates from the [[Rebel Alliance]], such as [[Phymp Mindano]], [[Nim Orlan]], [[David Kellar]] and delegates from SoroSuub, including [[Adam A Flynn]], and [[Maradin Sandwalker]] held a conference where they set out the initial plans for a new government, which they called the [[New Republic]]. Using the Old Republic's Constitution as a model, they began writing a new Constitution for the new government.

When the leaders of each group announced the potential merger to their citizens, there were mixed reactions. Some agreed that the joining of the two groups would create a powerful new government. Others did not care for the idea, arguing that they were proud to be a member of their current government, under its current name. In order to get an official measure about their citizens opinion regarding the merger, both sides held a poll. Both the Rebel Alliance and SoroSuub Citizen voted with a 'Aye' in favor of the merger.

Once both sides had officially approved the merger, the completed Constitution was presented to the public for approval. A referendum vote was held, and the New Republic's Constitution was ratified on [[Year 8|Day 98]]. The day is now known as Restoration Day, a celebration of the restoration of the Old Republic.

== Formation of the Republic ==

With the Constitution ratified and the New Republic officially formed, the various departments began merging. SoroSuub logistics, which had been housed in [[SoroSuub Munitions]] moved into [[Corellian Transport Services]], under the leadership of SSC Logistics Director [[Van Harrad]], and CTS Director [[Azzi Blackgate]] and Assistant Director [[Kit Lorcan]]. [[Liberty Medical Center]] and [[Riviera Medical]] merged together into [[Republic Medical]], under the leadership of [[Miko Niepe]]. Members of the SoroSuub military were transferred into Alliance battlegroups, and the various nationalized companies of the Republic began to collaborate on production, mining, and construction projects.

However, with all the merging came some problems. Former members of the Rebel Alliance and SoroSuub Corporation began to disagree on how things should be run, and there were times of tension in the beginning. Over time, the problems were solved and the two groups unified, with similar ideals and the goal to defeat the [[Galactic Empire|Empire]].

During this time, the first [[New Republic Advisory Council]] was formed. Initial plans had SoroSuub’s Chancellor [[Adam A Flynn]] serving as [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of State|Minister of State]], with the members of [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub’s]] Middle Management team filling the roles of civil Advisory Council members. The Rebel Alliance’s High Command members would fill the [[New Republic Military|Military]] positions. However, just after the merger, the co-leaders of [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub]], Adam A Flynn, and [[Ingo R Vailis]] resigned their positions and decided to leave the Republic.

== Chief of State Elections ==

With the Advisory Council positions filling in, the need to elect the Republic’s first [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] arose. The first Chief of State race was initially between multiple candidates; however, after a few drop-outs, two names remained on the final ballot – [[Maradin Sandwalker]] and [[Phymp Mindano]]. Both candidates had been very involved in their former governments, the Republic’s restoration and the writing of the Constitution. In an extremely close election, Maradin Sandwalker was confirmed as the first Chief of State of the New Republic on [[Year 8|Year 8 Day 121]].

Maradin recognized Phymp’s experience and dedication, appointing him as [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of State|Minister of State]] and declaring him the Republic’s official second-in-command. With Chief of State [[Maradin Sandwalker|Sandwalker’s]] election, and Phymp’s appointment, the first Advisory Council was officially complete.

The three military commands were assigned to former members of the Rebel Alliance High Command. [[Jax Dorvek]] was appointed [[New Republic Military#Starfighter Command|High Marshal of Starfighter Command]], [[Edyn Solers]] was made [[New Republic Military#Army|High General of Army Command]], and [[Atoris Ligauten]] filled the position of [[New Republic Military#Navy|High Admiral of Naval Command]]. All three of the military high command members were under the command of Chief of Military Operations [[Thies Windu]].

On the civil side, [[Gawayne]] was appointed [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Civil Engineering|Minister of Culture]]. [[Owyn Darklighter]] was made [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Natural Resources|Minister of Economic Development]], and [[Alph Virphen]] became [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Trade & Industry|Minister of Trade and Industry]]. [[Nim Orlan]] continued his directorship of the [[Rebel Alliance#Center for Rebel intelligence|Center for Rebel Intelligence]], which was renamed to the [[New Republic Advisory Council#New Republic Intelligence|Center of Republic Intelligence]]. Jedi Knight [[Uzziah Akim]] was appointed as [[New Republic Advisory Council#Republic Diplomacy Command|High Ambassador]].

== Senate Elections ==

With the Advisory Council set and Chief of State elected, it became time for the election of the New Republic’s first Senate. Thirteen sentients ran for a [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] seat in the first election. After much campaigning, where the candidates presented many different views on a number of issues, the election was held. Many New Republic members placed their votes, and when the results were in, all nine Senate seats were filled.

The first Senate was made up of [[Azzi Blackgate]], [[Chrono Van Talisman]], [[Dracul Elensar]], [[Eli LaSalle]], [[Jake Azzameen]], [[Kit Lorcan]], [[Corvis Orion]], [[Van Harrad]] and [[Wolfgang Nospe]]. The first Senate’s official inauguration date is [[Year 8|Year 8 Day 139]].

Shortly after the election, the Senate set to work making an official set of procedures and electing a [[New Republic Senate#Speaker of the Senate|Speaker]]. Wolfgang Nospe was elected the first Speaker of the Senate by his fellow Senators on Year 8 Day 169. The Senate also set to work debating many other subjects, and setting forth a variety of laws and regulations.

== Operation Forging Freedom ==

== Completion of Dunkiphor ==

Towards the end of [[Year 8]], the New Republic completed a massive project, the Dunkiphor tax planet. The project’s primary goal was to construct hundreds of skyscrapers, to serve as homes for refugees. Over 32 million refugees, mostly aliens, were able to flee [[Galactic Empire|Imperial]] oppression to live on the ecumenopolis.

The master architects behind the planet included [[Gawayne]], [[Gojin Zen]], and [[Owyn Darklighter]]. Gojin Zen led the massive construction effort with the assistance of [[Riviera Ship Shop|Riviera Ship Shop’s]] Assistant Director [[Zhadum Dharun]]. Associate Minister Zen drew from his experience while leading [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub’s]] first tax planet project, Galalyrn, which is now home to over 50 million sentient beings.

The economic plan behind the project was that the housing and many public services would initially be free. After sentient had settled in and were making a solid income to live off, they would begin to give parts of their profits to Republic, to help refund the cost of construction, and develop other planets in the future.

== Corvis Orion’s Betrayal and the Death of Thies Windu ==

One of the issues that arose early on in the Senate was how Dark Side force users were to be handled in the Republic. Several Senators and Advisory Council members took a strong stance against having any Dark Side users in the New Republic. Some believed that the [[Jedi Order]] should be consulted on all force issues. Several Senators, including [[Corvis Orion]], a force user who was a self proclaimed “grey user”, argued that the Constitution granted all citizens of the [[New Republic]] the choice whether or not to be a Light Side force user.

During the debate in the Senate, some people grew suspicious that Orion was not a force sensitive at all. In an attempt to prove that [[Corvis Orion]] wasn’t a force user, Chief of Military Operations [[Thies Windu]] called the members of the newly created New Republic Security Force to the Republic’s flagship, the NRS Nautilus, for a christening ceremony on [[Year 8|Year 8 Day 159]]. During the ceremony, Orion executed a plan to arrest the Chief of Military Operations. With the help of a friend, [[Mat Cauthon]], Orion was able to subdue Windu, and drag him aboard his personal warship.

Orion disappeared into Deep Space, a fugitive of the Republic. All rescue operations to try and locate Thies were unsuccessful. It was revealed a short time after that Orions's force sensitivity was a sham created when he was [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub’s]] Director of Intelligence. It was part of a scheme to capture [[Galactic Empire]] members. Orion's now vacant Senate seat was filled by [[Rhodan Flaka]].

== Appointment of Edhrikhor as CMO and Concurrent Dissolution of NRSF ==

Eventually, news reached the [[New Republic|Republic]] that Orion had executed Thies Windu. The official date of death is marked as [[Year 8|Year 8 Day 315]]. [[Edhrikhor Tlakh`sar]] was placed in command of the [[New Republic Military]] following Thies’ passing. As his first official act, Provost General Tlakh`sar awarded Jedi Master Windu with the Kalidor Crescent and the Republic Heart. Many members of the Republic, both military officers and civilians attended the ceremony on board the NRS Nautilus.

After Edhrikhor’s appointment as Chief of Military Operations, the New Republic Security Force was dissolved. Most of the members transferred to a newly created, fourth battlegroup, under the command of Vice Marshal [[Aiden Taan]].

== Chief of State Maradin Sandwalker replaced by Phymp Mindano ==

Following a long period of inactivity of Chief of State [[Maradin Sandwalker|Sandwalker]], both the [[New Republic Advisory Council|Advisory Council]] and [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] approved a vote of no confidence. Minister of State [[Phymp Mindano|Mindano]] officially took over as Interim Chief of State and immediately began planning elections.

Several Republic citizens came forth to campaign for the position. Initial candidates included [[Edhrikhor Tlakh`sar]], [[Eli LaSalle]], [[Azriel Pitot]] and [[Wolfgang Nospe]]. [[Oilios Katastrefor]] entered the race a short time after the others. LaSalle and Pitot both dropped out of the running stating various reasons for withdrawal.

As campaigning was coming to an end, former [[SoroSuub Corporation|SoroSuub]] Chancellor [[Ingo R. Vailis]] made a very controversial return. With the Republic in a difficult time, many members, mostly former SoroSuub members rallied behind Ingo, remembering his successful leadership of SoroSuub Corporation. On the other hand, many members were disappointed that Ingo was allowed to return and join in the campaigning this late into the race. Stating that he couldn’t run against Vailis, who he felt was the best man for the job, Edhrikhor Tlakh`sar withdrew from the race. To oppose Vailis, [[Nim Orlan]] entered the race a day later, prompting Oilios to drop out and back Nim.

When the final ballot reached the public, 3 candidates remained: Orlan, Vailis, and Nospe. When all of the votes were tallied, Vailis had defeated Orlan by a mere 5 votes. The people had spoken, and Ingo was officially the second Chief of State of the Republic.

== Black Sun Proposal ==

When Ingo returned from his extended leave of absence, his old friend and partner, [[Adam A Flynn]] also returned. Upon his election to [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]], Vailis appointed Flynn his Executive Advisor, and gave him Advisory Council level security clearance. This caused much controversy, as Flynn was accused of going beyond his authority several times.

Shortly after Vailis’s inauguration, Flynn presented a proposal to the New Republic populace. Vailis and Flynn intended to sell one of the Republic’s nationalised groups, [[Black Sun]], to [[Eidola|Eidola Pirates]] Queen, [[Teniel Djo]]. The sale would include the planet of [[Kiffex]] and Black Sun’s flagship, the [[Darkstar Battleship|Darkstar]].

While some members sided with the [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] and his advisor, most of the population strongly opposed the sale. Arguments took place on all levels, within the [[New Republic Senate|Senate]], the [[New Republic Advisory Council|Advisory Council]] and between citizens. All of the discussions led to several resignations. Prominently [[Alph Virphen]], [[Nim Orlan]], [[Kit Lorcan]], [[Natalis Oro]], [[Nov Chebot]] and others stepped down. As the discussion continued, [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] Vailis went missing. He rarely showed up for meetings, and for a period time seemed to completely vanish.

High Marshal Virphen was replaced with [[Dan Russ]], and Director Orlan was replaced with [[Mandor Bg]]. Just a few days after his resignation, the Republic received word that Virphen had executed [[Samus Augill]], a Dark Side force user, onboard his personal freighter. Augill had been captured during Operation Forging Freedom. Virphen agreed to go to court and be tried for any charges that the Republic wanted to bring against him.

== The Betrayal of Amun Sokar ==

After Chief Executive Nov Chebot resigned his position within [[Republic Mining Corporation]], he recommended that Amun Sokar take over as the corporation’s director. Just a month after accepting the position and being given full control over all RMC assets, Sokar made a deal with the [[Order of the Sith|Sith]], and he stole everything that he could from RMC. On [[Year 8|Year 8 Day 328]], he made off with millions worth of credits, vehicles, ships, and mines.

Sokar also took the opportunity to free a captured Dark Side Force user, [[Max Powers]], who was being held captive onboard RMC ship. Amun’s betrayal destroyed the Republic’s morale and crippled northern mining operations. Luckily, through diplomatic work, [[Kapryn LaSalle]] and [[Edhrikor Tlakh`sar]] were later able to retrieve enough of the stolen assets to complete the Akrit`tar tax planet project.

== Vote of No Confidence and the Elections ==

Just prior to Sokar’s looting of [[Republic Mining Corporation|RMC]], a Vote of No Confidence in Chief of State Ingo R. Vailis had passed in the Senate and the Advisory Council. Both bodies had become frustrated with Ingo’s unannounced leave of absence and his techniques and ideas, especially the sale of [[Black Sun]].

With Ingo out of office, campaigning for [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] was opened by Minister of Culture [[Gawayne]], Vailis’ second in command, just before he passed on the position of Interim [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] to Minister of State [[Phymp Mindano]].

* [[Nim Orlan]], recently returned after his resignation
stepped forward to campaign for CoS office. Orlan ran a campaign similar to his first one, and was generally considered the favorite.

== Takeover of the New Republic ==

Just as election week was about to begin, numerous military officers and civilian workers were surprised to find that their crew, work teams, and squadron members were no longer under their authority. They had received direct orders from [[Adam A Flynn]], who Vailis had placed in command of the entire Republic, not to obey any orders given by their commanders and to not allow their commanders to leave their ships.

With the entire Republic on a virtual lock down, Flynn began transferring hundreds of millions of credits to his personal account, along with the deeds to numerous Mon Calamari Cruisers and Republic fighter squadrons.

As Flynn stole the Republic’s assets, several [[Black Sun]] agents boarded ships and captured Republic officials. Among the most notable captures were [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] candidates [[David Kellar]] and [[Nim Orlan]], Senators [[Chrono van Talisman]] and [[Eli LaSalle]] and Jedi Master [[Bengro Evabri]].

[[Black Sun]] agents who participated in the kidnappings included [[Aiden Taan]], [[Corvis Orion]], [[Dracul Elensar]] and [[Sergei Korolev]]. Soon after the captures took place though, Elensar had a change of heart, and released the two officers he was holding captive, Senators [[Chrono van Talisman]] and [[Eli LaSalle]].

After an intense week of rescue operations to secure stranded Republicans, Flynn disappeared to [[Black Sun]], leaving the New Republic back under the command of [[Phymp Mindano]]. News shortly reached the Republic that the prisoners [[Black Sun]] was holding, including Orlan and Kellar had been executed. The New Republic mourned the losses that they had suffered, but did not look back as a period of rebuilding began.

== Rebuilding ==

Minister [[Phymp Mindano|Mindano]] got to work immediately planning elections. [[Phymp Mindano|Phymp]] announced his own intention to run. [[Chrono Van Talisman]], [[Zeff Traner]] and [[Edhrikhor Tlakh`sar]] also stepped up to announce their candidacy. In another close election, [[Phymp Mindano|Mindano]] captured 43 votes and Edhrikhor captured 41 votes. Due to a recently passed Constitution amendment, a run off election would be required, to ensure that one candidate gained 50% of the total vote. In the run off election, Tlakh`sar earned 53% of the vote, pushing him in to Office.

Under Edhrikor the [[New Republic]] began a long period of reconstruction and rebuilding. [[Incom Corporation]] began constructing a massive shipyard complex in the Praesitlyn System, to serve as a main production base for building the Republic’s capital ships. The Akrit`tar tax planet project also came to a close under Edhrikor’s watch. During Operation NR Rehab, production teams were able to replenish the NR’s fighter and cruiser supplies by numerous times over. The [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] was hard at work as well. With the completion of the Governor’s Act, the New Republic was able to further their territorial development.

== Expanding the Galactic Alliance and Leadership Changes ==

One of High Ambassador [[Jake Azzameen|Jake Azzameen’s]] key objectives when he took over from [[Uzziah Akim]] was to expand the [[Galactic Alliance]]. After working very closely with the [[Falleen Federation]], Ambassador Azzameen was extremely pleased to announce the expansion of the Alliance to include the [[Triumvirate Coalition]], the [[Red Star Alliance]], and the [[Jedi Order]].

The [[New Republic]] was surprised when [[Phymp Mindano]] resigned his position as Minister of State. Phymp’s service record went back nearly 9 years, including the position of Supreme Commander of the [[Rebel Alliance]]. He was replaced by [[New Republic Advisory Council#Navy|High Admiral]] Kapryn, who was already serving on the Advisory Council as Chief of Naval Command. A short time later, Zeff Traner, the former [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Trade|Minister of Trade and Industry]] who had resigned after the controversial discussion about the sale of [[Incom Corporation]], returned. Traner was appointed Chief Administrator of Employment and immediately was back into the swing of things.

== Betrayals and Deaths ==

When Tomra Kotar became leader of [[Toskan Industries]], Altomac Whiskers was appointed leader of [[Astralwerks Engineering]]. Shortly after the change, both leaders looted their organizations, and Kotar attempted to arrest Jedi Master High Admiral Eli LaSalle. In the fight, Tomra failed and the former Senator LaSalle was able to apprehend him, but not before Kotar sent the ship via hyperspace towards [[Black Sun]] space.

When the ship arrived, Black Sun member, [[Order of the Sith|Sith]] [[Jett Blackheart]] boarded and arrested the Jedi Master after a lengthy duel. [[Jett Blackheart|Blackheart]] later killed Eli and kept the restrained Tomra with him. The New Republic would later recover Tomra and put him on trial.

Around the same time, [[Black Sun]] also attacked one of the Republic's private sector companies, [[Offworld Mining Corporation]]. It was owned by Oilios Katastrefor, a New Republic senator. He started his business in the Ku'bakai system with other members of the Republic. The company grew to the point where Oilios decided to apply to the Republic to have his corporation recognized as part of their Private Sector Agreement, giving his employees NR citizenship and rights.

The CEO of the company, Mott Skyblade, was contacted by [[Black Sun]] agents. While Oilios was leading a prospection team, Mott gave all employees a task to keep them busy, using the time to fly to the planet Gondyn, where Oilios was working. Mott entered Oilios' vehicle and kidnapped him, leaving him on board a [[Black Sun]] ship. Oilios however managed to change most [[Offworld Mining Corporations|OMC]] access codes, protecting the corporation from completely being taken over by [[Black Sun]]. He quickly contacted [[Andre Archer]] and appointed him as the new CEO.

Mott Skyblade still managed to steal a handful of ships and all the credits of the [[Offworld Mining Corporation]], right before having his access to their accounts removed. Oilios was later murdered by Ingo R. Vailis and Nicholas Haines.
[[Offworld Mining Corporation]] managed to survive and the new CEO, [[Andre Archer]], promoted [[Twiggy Samp]] and Mambo Starr to Directors.

== Election of Zeff Traner ==

When Edhrikhor’s term as [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] came to an end, he decided not to run for reelection. A very intense campaign was run between Zeff Traner and CRI Director, Mandor Bg. Both candidates had different stances on many issues. After the votes were all tallied, it was confirmed that Traner was the Republic’s new [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]] on [[Year 10|Year 10 Day 12]].

Several changes in the [[New Republic Advisory Council|Advisory Council]] took place at the time of Traner's inauguration. [[New Republic Advisory Council#Republic Diplomacy Command|High Ambassador]] [[Jake Azzameen]] and [[New Republic Advisory Council#Army|High General]] Edyn Solers both stepped down and were replaced with [[Owen von Ismay]] and Wolfgang Nospe respectively. [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of State|Minister of State]] Kapryn was made the Republic's official second in command. [[New Republic Advisory Council#New Republic Intelligence|CRI]] Director Mandor Bg also resigned his position and was replaced by Deputy Director Dan Neo.

Under Traner’s leadership, important changes in several sectors took place. Regarding the economy, the tax planet at Belecalaryn was completed, wages were increased, and the Trade Bursary program was reopened for the [[New Republic|NR]] citizens. However, the most impressive action was the mergers of different but similar companies, carried out to streamline the processes and increase the level of cooperation among all the parties involved. This led to a lot of changes in the [[New Republic Advisory Council|AC]], Ministers, and Associate Ministers. A new position was also created: the Executive Employment Administrator. Moreover, CRI renovated its inner structure.

Regarding the military, the reorganization involved mainly the Army, and a new Battlegroup was created.

Traner’s administration saw also the looting of [[Astralwerks Engineering]] and its renewed management under the name of [[Noga-Ta Industries]], an unfortunate event balanced by the quick response and support to one of the [[Galactic Alliance|GA]] members, [[The Antarian Rangers]], which was struck by the [[Galactic Empire]].

== Creation of the Justice Department ==

In the beginning of [[Year 10]], the NR citizens started discussing on the possible benefits of having a department dedicated to deal with judicial matters. Such a new "power body" seemed necessary after the [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] had been handling trials to no one's satisfaction.
The strongest point against the fact of the [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] administering justice was that Senators were - and are - directly-elected representatives. The important consequence to this, is that the popular vote weighted too much on delicate issues, where popularity must be set aside and objectivity is of paramount importance. In other words, there could have been the risk of Senators not judging according to what the trial exposed, but according to what decision could bring the most popularity, and therefore votes.
In addition to these opinions, it did happen that some people managed to successfully manipulate trials through the [[New Republic Senate|Senate]].
The following steps were therefore to create a Justice Department based on legislation, and to charge the Minister of State to set up an Associate Minister for just these purposes. After this was achieved in June of [[Year 10]], the JD started its task by writing and devising new procedures and new legislation, when appropriate.

== Fifth Chief of State Election ==

The [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]], Zeff Traner, officially announced he would not be running for re-election after completing a full term as [[New Republic Chief of State|CoS]], like his predecessor. The Republic is yet to have a leader run for a second term in office, the reason for which CoS Traner alluded to, stating:

He went on to advise citizens to consider running, but to be sure they give “much thought and meditation before making such a decision.”

The campaign was marked by the astounding personalities involved. All four candidates have served in the [[New Republic]] since the galaxy-changing merger between the [[Rebel Alliance]] and the [[SoroSuub Corporation]] with excellence in their fields. Senator [[Aves Sunfell]], Colonel [[Jake Azzameen]], [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Civil Engineering|Minister of Culture]] [[Nat Dues]] and [[New Republic Advisory Council#Military|Chief of Military Operations]] Kapryn LaSalle. The voting system was renovated in order to increase the security and trust in the electoral system.

"Holding the rank of Marshal within the Republic’s famous Starfighter Command, Senator Sunfell stood for election in the early [[Year 10]] Senate elections and has since been working in the Republic’s legislative body in addition to his military duties. If elected, he hopes to provide a stable governing body, increase revenue and production capacities for both military and civilian fleets as well as reach out more to foreign nations."

"Colonel [[Jake Azzameen]] has an extensive background among the NR and her allies. == Aves Sunfell's Administration ==

Under [[Aves Sunfell|Sunfell’s]] leadership, the NR experienced a period of stability and constant growth.

The [[New Republic Senate|Senate]] proposed several amendments to the Constitution, revised laws and acts and tried to clarify and streamline any loops or unclear legislation.

Following the breakthrough in ship design research, the NR was able to start a mass production of [[MC80 Home One-class Star Cruiser|MC80 Home One-class Star Cruisers]], and the military [[New Republic Advisory Council#Military|High Command]] devised new strategies to exploit this ultimate addition to their fleets. [[New Republic Advisory Council#Starfighter Command|SFC]] introduced new rank definitions, more appropriate to the effective role of the officers. On the war front, the [[Galactic Empire]] attacked in the N'Zoth and Tatooine systems, while [[Shoki Shoen]] struck in Geedon system. However, the NR response was immediate and all the enemy forces soon left empty-handed. On the other hand, the NR took control of the Quelii system from [[Black Sun]] and participated in the liberation of several planets (e.g. Malgolfin and Sacorria).

[[Aves Sunfell|Sunfell’s]] administration also saw the birth of a force sensitive group within the NR. The “Knights of the Republic”. After long debates, it was decided that such a group would have more advantages rather than disadvantages, and Ghon Webb was appointed as supervisor of all matters related to force sensitivity within the NR and the Knights.

The Diplomacy Command made improvements at galactic level. It maintained relations with the NR allies and reached out to a much wider base of groups in the galaxy to establish contact and seek opportunities for cooperation. Within the [[Galactic Alliance]], the NR helped the [[Triumvirate Coalition]] to secure control of planets within their territory as well as aiding the [[Krath Dynasty]] in their home Sector, Kathol, for the same purpose. [[Falleen Federation]] and [[Ailon Nova Guard]] helped the NR secure several planets.

Several improvements on the civil side were also made. A new tax planet was developed, while [[JUGANOTH Mining Corporation]], a nationalised subsidiary, set up and opened a new South Sales Depot. The NR at large cooperated on large-scale projects regarding the increase of demographic population and provision of minimal sustainability to every city in the galaxy.
CRI, lead by Director Evan Traner, set up a joint operation with the [[Jedi Order]] to arrest Salvor Higgs, who was responsible for looting of the RA subsidiary.

The New Republic News Service (NRNS) started its publications with a brand new staff.

Due to a galaxy-wide agreed decision, all hidden systems in the galaxy were disclosed to the public, as a first step towards a complete reorganization of the sectors.

[[Aves Sunfell|Sunfell's]] term was marred however by the resignation of several important members of the Republic, including Evan and Zeff Traner, respectively the Director of CRI and the former [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]]. They formed their own organization, [[Alliance Special Operations]], claiming that the Republic didn't do enough to fight the [[Galactic Empire|Empire]]. Under Sunfell's administration, a [[Black Sun]] agent, Elix Solaris, also succeeded in killing the leader of [[Merr-Sonn Technologies]], a nationalised subsidiary of the NR.

== Sixth Chief of State Election ==

At the end of his term, Chief of State [[Aves Sunfell]] officially announced he would not be running for re-election. The candidates for the new CoS campaign were initially [[Nat Dues]] – who was also a candidate in the past elections - and [[Taka Aioko]], current Minister of State, at his first candidacy.

[[Nat Dues]], former [[New Republic Advisory Council#Ministry of Culture|Minister of Culture]] and current [[New Republic Senate|Senator]], allegedly resigned in favour of the high-caliber position of Minister [[Taka Aioko|Aioko]] because he didn’t feel right running against what he considered such an excellent candidate for the [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]].

Jedi Knight and current Senator Ghon Webb, on the other hand, entered the voting arena because he felt that for the ideals of democracy the NR represents in the whole galaxy, the people of the NR deserved a choice. He therefore put himself forward as another option to be [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]].

Minister Taka Aioko had much experience in the civil sectors, spending time as CEO of many nationalised subsidiaries before being appointed Minister of State.

On [[Year 12|Year 12 Day 3]] the [[New Republic Chief of State|Chief of State]]-election resulted in Taka Aioko, with 85% of the votes, and on [[Year 12|Day 17]] he was officially appointed.

== Leader and Looter of JMC ==

[[JUGANOTH Mining Corporation]] was shaken from its inner core on [[Year 12|Day 142 of Year 12]], when its current leader, [[Morden Veritas]], decided to loot the organization. The motives for this brash action are widely speculated on, ranging from personal greed to freedom fighter.

Morden Veritas, who had proved himself a hard worker and trustworhy sentient till then, managed to steal millions of units of raw materials, over one billion in credits, cities, and numerous facilities. The theft was speculated to total in the billions of credits. As a result of this action, JMC closed public sales and all remaining materials in the New Republic were used for Governmental use.

After back-channel negotiations regarding the return of the stolen property failed, Morden began selling said property on Centrepoint Marketplace. The ensuing debates among the leaders of the NR, on the complete looting of one of the biggest nationalized subsidiaries, led to the decision to issue an advisory notice to the galactic trading community regarding the purchase and ownership of stolen property. This advisory came two months after the looting, and subsequent sales.

On Day 200, the NRI together with the RDC, finally made a public statement concerning all access requests related to stolen goods. The statement declared that access would be denied and, under the Criminal Code, possessing or trafficking items through the black market should be punishable by anything from a heavy fine to a custodial sentence. All restricted Republic technology, most notably military equipment and ships, found in traders lounges and marketplaces across the galaxy were to be considered as stolen property and therefore subject to the same penalties.

During that same news post regarding accessibility of stolen merchandise, the NR alleged Morden was defrauding sentients across the galaxy. After much deliberation and discussion amongst the prominent traders of the galaxy, it was decided that Morden had indeed not defrauded anyone, but rather the NR had dropped the ball on the advisory notice by the two month delay.

On Day 274 of Year 12, The New Republic arrested one of its most accomplished and decorated citizens, Andrew Steczo. His crime was purchasing a few piles of stolen raw materials listed by Morden on Centrepoint Marketplace, with the intent to return them to the New Republic. A warrant was immediately issued for his arrest, and he was subsequently taken into custody. Months later, after a lengthy and secretive legal process, he was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment, confined to 24-hour lockdown. Rumors have surfaced that the accused has killed himself, though no evidence has ever been produced.

On Day 138 of Year 13, Morden approached the New Republic with a chance to reclaim the last of their stolen materials. In exchange for a a public apology for the claims of Morden defrauding traders, the New Republic would receive all materials not yet sold on Centrepoint Marketplace. The New Republic turned down the offer, as a result the remaining 25 million units of raw materials were sold for a half billion credits to Seele, of the Galactic Empire.

== The End of the New Republic ==

In [[Year 21]], newly elected 15th [[New Republic Chief of State| Chief of State]] [[Galen Darksol]] surrendered the Republic to Emperor [[Seele]], dissolving the government and starting [[The War for the Republic]]. As a result of the conflict, former Republic assets and personnel were divided into several camps, including the [[Rebel Alliance]], led by former interim Chief of State and military leader Orion Chran, and [[Rebel Scum]], led by the most recent Chief of State, Jin Solas. Territory that formerly governed by the New Republic was secured by various groups such as the two mentioned, in addition to [[The Resistance]], [[Jawa Offworld Enterprises]], and members of the [[Imperial Union]].

The [[Moon Bandits]] were the jackals of the shipping lanes circa [[Year 0]] and were led by Captain [[Friar Blues]], a man with an insatiable thirst for Lum and a certain rough-edged charm. The Bandits plundered all that attracted their attention.<ref name="Juganoth History"/> Only one other band of pirates dared to challenge these rogues: The [[Raptor Pirates]]. The Raptors thought to make a name for themselves by muscling in on the Moon Bandits' territory. Through backroom intrigues on Friar's part, the Bandits quickly sought alliances with other criminal organizations, including smugglers and mercenaries. The upstart Raptors were soon squelched and yielded to the Bandits' supremacy.<ref name="Juganoth History"/>

Times changed with the ascension of the [[Bounty Hunter Alliance]] on [[Year -1|Year -1 Day 28]]. Their hunters ravaged smaller crime organizations like a wildfire. The Moon Bandits adapted and became the [[Screaming Banshees]], a Bounty Hunter squadron even fiercer than the scum they preyed on. It was then that the Banshees and the [[Black Sun|Black Sun crime syndicate]] reportedly fell at odds. The exact cause of their feud is unknown, but it raged on with both sides bitterly hating each other. Due to an injury sustained in his ongoing feud with Black Sun, Friar Blues had to temporarily retire from active duty. Although it had been rumored his Lum addiction had finally consumed him, there were whispers that he was plotting a new bold venture.<ref name="Juganoth History"/> These rumors proved true when the grizzled captain and [[Talord|Tal'ord the Wookiee]], his longtime comrade since the Bandit days, joined [[Owan D'arc|Owan D'arc's]] [[Centrepoint Space Station]]. Blues was in charge of station security, and Tal'ord served as his second-in-command. Unfortunately, the Wookiee's reputation across several star-systems as a trigger-happy gunman and Blues' own hair-trigger temper proved to be ill-suited for Centrepoint's respectable image. The duo became exasperated with abiding by Centrepoint's strict code of conduct and rules of neutrality. They resigned their positions to seek fortune and glory elsewhere. Always faithful, the rest of Friar's security crew followed them. Together, they established the Juganoth Mining Corporation circa [[Year 0|Year 0 Day 300]] or later. Although veteran Juganoth personnel objected to these peculiar newcomers being hired and receiving security clearances, they were nonetheless placed on the company payroll due to an acute labor shortage. Originally, Juganoth had been situated on the planet Alk'lellish I in the Alk'lellish system of the Sumitra sector. This large temperate planet had wild jungles, forests, swamps and mineral deposits, ideally suited for mining operations. Juganoth came under new corporate ownership years later, and was moved to the Abrath system in the Jospro Sector. There the corporation was rebuilt from the ground up and once again began mining for the materials essential to building everything from buildings to starships.

Years later, the [[Sorosuub Corporation]] purchased Juganoth circa [[Year 5]]. Under the leadership of Count [[Irving Howie]], the storied company relocated its headquarters to [[Sullust]] in an effort to better supply the ever-expanding shipwright market. The Minister of State is responsible for overseeing a large part of the civilian portion of the New Republic Government. '''Taka Aioko''' is a Thyferran jedi best known for his two terms as Chief of State of the [[New Republic]].

Before holding that position Taka Aioko worked exclusively in civil sectors, and covered many positions leading several nationalized companies, eventually becoming Minister of State. Taka Aioko refered himself many times as a man of action.

As Minister of State, he worked in the restructure of the New Republic organization and was appointed Second in Command of the New Republic. Before his election to Chief of State, he commanded successfully [[Battle of Sacorria | Operation Chiron]], which liberated the planet Sacorria from [[CorSec]] and the [[Galactic Empire]], for which he earned the Perlemian Star of Freedom.

Soon after elected Taka Aioko successfully commanded two other operations: [[Operation Blackbeard]], which liberated the planets Galus and Hararyn from Eidola, and [[Operation Argo]] which liberated Adbauniac from [[Black Sun]].

Aioko was re-elected in Year 13 Day 17, becoming the very first sentient to have filled the role of Chief of State for two consecutive administrations. In addition to be a record ''per se'', his two-year administration managed to break what the galaxy had called "the curse of the New Republic Chief of State," referring to the past gloom history of the New Republican Chiefs of State.

Taka Aioko's double election made him the sixth and seventh Chief of State of the New Republic, despite some sources indicate Cheda Quche as the seventh CoS. Taka Aioko was also elected as Secretary General of the Galactic Alliance for two consecutive terms while holding the chair of Chief of State of the New Republic.

==Biography==
===Physical Description===

Taka Aioko is a Thyferran man with a lean frame. He has dark hair and brown skin, and
looks to be around 38 years of age. He wears formal jedi gear most of the time, but enjoys
wearing Hawaiian shirts when he is kicking back. He is very active and full of energy, which often spurs others onward. He is easy going and
straight forward, maintaining a sense of calm through adversity.

===Early Years===

Taka was born in the human colony of Mirega on Thyferra. The world is a primary source for
bacta, and farming is a way of life there. As a youth Taka would labor with his father, working
their land to produce Alahzi to be used in bacta creation. It was hard, back-breaking work, but
as a young man Taka learned to value the simple things in life, that anything worth having must
be earned. His mother, Naoki, was a beautiful, gentle hearted woman and his father, Sono, was a
hardworking man of the land.

Growing up he always had a special place in his heart for starships and space travel. Late at night
after working the fields all day he would look through a book he owned that detailed various
starships. He must have read through it a thousand times, but it didn't matter. Any chance he had
to see a ship or even set foot in one he was there. Taka longed to leave the planet but it was almost impossible under the rule of the Empire. While he enjoyed the
simple life of Thyferra, he knew deep down inside that if he were to stay here he would forever
wonder what might have happened.

Eventually the New Republic liberated the planet and Taka decided it was a good moment to travel
to their Capital Planet, Adbatar.

===Corellian Transport Services===

In Year 8 Day 119 by chance or by the Force and while travelling around Adbatar City, Taka made the acquaintance of
Johnny Moon, a Corellian Transport Services (CTS) officer who offered him a job in the company. Taka quickly adopted Johnny as a father figure and kept in contact for a long time, even after Johnny was found to be force sensitive and left to join the Jedi Order.

Taka thoroughly enjoyed himself while working for CTS. He was doing the things he loved and he excelled in his pilot training, quickly moving up to captain of a starship. He also met a lot of friends that he learned to depend on along the way like, Kit Lorcan, Adhrakhon Tlakh`sar, Van Harrad, Mosiah Brightblade, Nathos Alzoon, Rekka Deott, Craulani Ortesma, Jenssar Drovvad, Kurva Darksword, Draelin Dumas and Azzi Blackgate, who would eventually become his main mentor.

Things were really looking up for Taka back in CTS, and then he met a girl, a new CTS recruit. Her name was Craulani Ortesma and she quickly became his best friend's student. Taka and Lani became good friends and continued in this way for a while, but they both knew there was some chemistry between them. However, they were both just starting out in their careers and were hesitant to take the relationship any further. Sadly for him, they fell out of contact for a while when Taka was sent to help outside CTS.

Taka was sent by Kit Lorcan, his CTS liason, to work with Republic Mining Corporation (led by Nov Chebot) and Alph Virpen on the reconstruction of Tierfon system after the war against the 12 Colonies. Taka worked side by side with other pilots like Braiden Novalis.

The New Republic at the time was under a constant state of turmoil, and after a couple of months working in that project and a tax planet with them, Nov, Alph and Kit quit the NR leaving Taka's career in a crossroads: with all his direct bosses gone he decided to leave as well, just a couple of days before Amun Sokar would loot RMC.

Since he first joined the New Republic, Taka was always interested in Republic Medical. His Thyferran blood had always made Taka interested in pursuing a career as a doctor. While he was still in CTS he started taking his medical classes, where Sylesta Orion was the teacher. With time he made many more friends at Republic Medical, like Cyon Silverwing, Mabilah Gaian, Kaito Mizuno, Keishi Miahr and Sephe Nighthawk.

During one of his visits for the medical courses at Republic Medical, Taka Aioko was hired by Master Uzziah Akim as project lead in the technological department of the Safety House Program. Said program compiled different locations where allied personnel could get medical assistance accross the galaxy.

While in CTS Taka started the Thyferran Social Club, a place for Thyferrans from all around the galaxy and from all sort of goverments to keep in touch. The list of Thyferrans included Alanna Taralom, Josh Jericho, Selene Tal-Kyrte, Bento Hadaar, Aeternal Conclave, Mabilah Gaian, En Sabah Nur, Sylesta Orion, Kaede Kazegami, Craulani Ortesma, Hiyo Rogo, Wolfgang Rasolam, Kaito Mizuno and many more other non-thyferran friends.

===Outback Industries===

When Taka found himself without instructions for days due to his bosses leaving the New Republic he decided to pursue other ventures. Taka's Thyferran friend Selene Tal-Kyrte had asked him for help in Outback Industries (OI) and he just couldn't refuse. After working and getting to know Selene better they
both discovered they had the shared dream of rebuilding their home planet, Thyferra, and OI could be a great tool for it. Tragically
this dream came crashing down when Adam Flynn and his gang looted the NR and took over
Thyferra.

As soon as Taka heard the news about the coup in the New Republic, he grabbed his pilot suit and hurried to lend a hand, rescuing a few people like Republic Medical Doctor Keishi Miahr and SFC Marshal Jack Niels. The damage was already done and Taka soon returned to OI.

Taka Aioko became OI's leader just after a couple of months of working in the company. The successful was big, the company grew from just a handful of members to over 30 people, allowing them to become the backbone of the Tamerin Foundation. He recruited many people who would later become friends and follow him back to the New Republic, like Walter Griffiths, Colin Saracco and Kristina Roberts.

Taka continued on in his life, fulfilling several positions in government at different points in
time, such as Counselor, Governor and Lord Lieutenant. Taka also performed as a diplomat for the New Anzatan Order in the New Republic mediation between NAO and Kathol Republic.

But before leaving the New Republic he had promised he would go back in a non distant future. Many of his longtime friends were still with the NR and he sorely missed them, especially Lani, whom
he happened to run into when he previously returned to assist during the aftermath of the coup.
After making the decision to return he started talking with her again and this time it was clear
there were feelings of more than just friendship present. As Taka got more involved in Anzatan politics he didn't like what he saw. He described their leader Wilhelm von Ismay as the equivalent of a third world dictator, someone who had many lackies around, people who would flatter the Regent when around him and plan his assassination the rest of the time. Not long after Taka resigned to all of his positions and titles and returned to the New Republic, with his journey in the Tamerin Foundation only lasting six months.

When Taka decided to go back to the New Republic, joining Republic Medical was no brainer for him. Taka had developed a friendship with Republic Medical's doctor Keishi Miahr after the coup, and she recommended Taka for one of the jobs he always felt attracted to, Director of Operations in the medical department of the New Republic. Taka Aioko joined Republic Medical on day 121 and he was able to repeat the success he had in OI, taking command of the operations department, where he reinstated the RMSUs and recruited many members. While coordinating with the medical area and the military Taka met someone who'd become one of his most admired and trusted colleagues, Jahu Skyla, also known as Husky.

Just after a few months of coming back, Taka didn't like what he saw in the Republic's leadership. He grew more and more suspicious of the likes of Edhrikor Tlakh'sar and Owen von Ismay, so he decided to get more involved. He was also concerned about Keishi, who had met Wilhelm von Ismay when she visited Taka at Outback Industries and whom she started to develop a relationship with.

At the same time Taka and Lani continued to meet, often, and developed a much deeper relationship. Taka proposed to Lani, who though surprised at the suddenness of it all, felt the same and she accepted. They planned the wedding for a few months
out while Taka settled into his new job working the medical department of the NR and Lani
departed on a long mission. Upon her return they enjoyed their wedding at the Home One Cruiser NRS Nautilus.

===Associate Minister of Technology===

Recruited by his old mentor Azzi Blackgate, who at the time had become Minister of Trade & Industry and a Jedi Knight, Taka is appointed as Associate Minister of Technology, overseeing the vehicle and droid national companies (Triton Dynamics, Industrial Automaton and Ubrikkian Industries). Azzi and Kit Lorcan continued to develop Taka's abilities as company administrator, instructing the basics of delegation. With time Taka would become what they used to call 'Nat Paramedic', someone who could take over a stalled or headless company and jump it started.
During his time as Associate Minister Taka was also in charge of the Middlemen Program.

Year 9 Day 214 was the day Taka Aioko took over leadership at Ubrikkian Industries & Associate Minister of Technology. Taka Aioko was once again able to take a company with a low amount of personnel and turn it around, keeping a base of over 30 active workers during his administration. Nevertheless his focus was on training new leaders that he could delegate his work, and eventually leave the company to dedicate himself full time to his role of Associate Minister.

On year 10 Day 288 Taka Aioko proposed Ministry of Culture Officer Ruben Wan a new project, a library of maps. The project quickly became a joint effort between The Ministry of Culture and the Associate Ministry of Technology.

After a brief discussion Minister Aioko came up with the first version the very next day and kept growing during the following years. The Library was managed by Officer Ruben Wan and included maps of vehicles, ships, facilities and space stations that were mostly donated by different citizens. With time it became an information hub that was used as reference by senbes around the galaxy, including many people from outside the New Republic.

On Year 10 Day 333 Taka Aioko is appointed as Minister of Trade and Industry by Chief of State [[Zeff Traner]]. Aioko's continuous work, recruiting and delegation were enough to revitalize the Ministry of Trade and Industry. As result, military and civil production bloomed, and the department was also able to help with several crisis: the galactic housing crisis (Pop Op), the galactic city decay crisis, the Boolfin and Geedon IV crisis.

The main focus during his Ministry administration was implementing solar system based nats. Before, nats had production centers in distant planets, depending on JMC for materials. Under this new plan a nat would be allocated in one system, and they would manage their own mining, aiming for efficiency and self-sufficiency.

On year 10 Day 347 Taka was replaced by [[Izjna Khaldho]] as the leader of Incom.

On year 11 day 86 Taka Aioko was appointed as governor of the uncharted system of Vyzerod (later Tythe). With time this system would become the base of operations for Taka, a system where he trained and planned future operations. In one of the system planets, Shocore, Taka developed a planetary design that would become a literal symbol of freedom for the galaxy. Rates for housing there sky-rocketed in because of this and millions
of citizens decided to move to different parts of this true symbol of freedom.

On year 11 day 219 Taka Aioko was appointed as Minister of State by Chief of State [[Aves Sunfell]]. In this period Taka continued to remain very active and the civil side of the New Republic was able to keep fighting new galactic crisis, like the the galactic taxation crisis. Taka also kick started project Odiseo,
a joint project between Republic Medical and Ubrikkian Industries which produced large amounts of medical hardware for the New Republic at large.

During this time Taka also created the position of Secretary of State, which he basically described as second in command of the Minister of State or 'Ministry Paramedic', and appointed Azzi Blackgate in that chair. Also the mass production of Home Ones in the Galactic Alliance started.

Due to his continuous work in the handling of day to day general obligations, Taka is appointed Second in Command of The New Republic. During that time Taka also noticed that the New Republic had tactical advantage in a few enemy planets, so he began researching and planning the feasibility of their liberation. Time was a big factor due to the city decay crisis and inminent volatility of the solar system reorganization. Operation Chiron is conceived and executed, triggering what's also known as the [[Battle of Sacorria]].

On year 11 day 350 Taka gave the last briefing "''This next day 350 at approximately 8 hours we are going to be arriving to our target's orbits, one moon and the main target, a planet. I will talk to you all individually to clear out doubts, so don't worry.

''In this step coordination is going to be a key, we need Beta and Gamma teams to start building at the same time and finish as soon as possible, because every minute is going to count in our favor.''

''I'm not going to lie to you guys, we are going to be fighting a strong and determined enemy who knows their territory like the palm of their hands, so I expect to find resistance and at some point it might get hairy. But if they don't react fast or they don't make the right decisions, we can liberate the planet. We have the advantage, we are prepared.''

After long hours of fighting which costed hundreds of Wookiee lives, on year 11 Day 353 following a rebellion against the Empire, the NR helped toward Sacorria's independency. Brute force was not quite enough to keep the citizens of Sacorria down, as they have stepped up and taken power from the old leader, long hailed as a puppet of CorSec, and forced all CorSec-aligned politicians to resign their positions, ceding power to local control. Six days later Sacorria held elections and decided to join the New Republic.

===Chief of State, First Term===

On year 12 Day 17 Taka Aioko became the sixth Chief of State for the New Republic by getting 96 votes and Ghon Webb finished as runner-up with 17.

'''Advisory Council:'''

Taka's original Advisory Council had a few changes compared to his predecessor, Dan Russ replaced Kapryn and Cheda Quche replaced Gryffin Grayurra. Lance moved back to the SFC and Taka's old position (MoS) was occupied by [[Andre Archer]]. At the same time Twiggy Samp took over the position of MoNR and Franco Nejo was appointed as MoCE. Taka said at the time "''A team not only needs good and skilled people to work well, it also needs that chemistry that makes each person have a complementary role according to the rest. So these 2 past weeks we've been thinking hard how would be the best configuration for a working Advisory Council and talking to all the people involved.''"

During his administration Taka also adopted many special advisors, in particular experienced citizens and AC's 2ICs.

During his campaign Taka stated that "''I think a wealthy State with wealthy individuals has the most chances to succeed than any other variants, that's why everytime this discussion came up I always said we should be encouraging the private sector. And I think I've supported that with actions, for example when I took over the Ministry of Trade & Industry I encouraged our nats to remove the restriction that you would only get the New Republic discount if you didn't resell, because I thought that was a good oportunity for the regular citizen to make their own credits. Apart from that I think I've had good experiences working with different PSAs in the past, like OMC and FreiTek.''

''We can't provide equal opportunities for New Republic Citizens to build on New Republic planets if we don't introduce equal limitations to all private parties, including PSAs. For example, if PSAs intend to build 100% of a planet, that leaves 0% for all the other PSAs, individuals or nats. I think this isn't the direction the NR should be taking and this directly breaks the governor's act. And by the way it doesn't make much sense to have a private company collecting taxes and using entire planets for their sole profit.''

During his campaign Taka stated "''Well, I believe right now there's no legal recognition for any type of marriage, but if some day it changed I think the rules should be the same for traditional than for gay/lesbian/bisexual/transsexual/gender confused (and let me add interracial) couples. I don't see any real reason why we should limit how two mature people can relate in a sentimental relationship.''

''It's true we don't have any written policies about this in particular, but I always thought it was clear that any type of discrimination over sexual preferences could carry serious consequences. If people think it's necessary to have something written, we could add it to our military regulations or (we could) poke the Senate for a more general law.''"

'''Constitutional Amendments:'''

Early on his first term Taka proposed two Constitutional amendments to the Senate:

Removing the Pardon Power from the Chief of State and limiting the amount of consecutive terms for the Chief of State to two. The first proposal didn't get enough support in the Senate but the second one was passed for referendum and became part of the Constitution later on.

Regarding the Pardon Power Taka said in an interview "''Giving the CoS this power with no guidelines is giving a blank check, it can be easily used and abused. It goes against several basic justice principles, like the one that says everyone is supposed to be equal before the law, but a pardon right now can be applied on a whim or on a biased level, there's no guides for consistency. Also the rule of law, in its most basic form, is the principle that no one is above the law, but in this case basically the Chief of State is.''" Later he added than the alternative of "adding guidelines instead, would basically be creating a Supreme Court made of one person."

Later he added "''I also take issue on how the proposal was treated in the Senate, how it was discussed and classified in one session, and revived in another session without declassifying the original discussion, so the public and even many Senators couldn't see many of the reasons behind it. I feel the only purpose was to slam the proposal without even providing the content to back it up.''"

Regarding the consecutive terms Taka told the Senate "''I think a Chief of State shouldn't be able to run again after two consecutive terms, for one or two elections. I believe in a democracy a goverment shouldn't be guided by the same person indefinitely, even if that's what the people chooses. The diversity of views and opinions is what makes us grow and we should encourage that. [...] The most important thing is avoiding the potential for monopoly.''"

During the transition Taka had already moved the troops for [[Operation Blackbeard]] to the Unknown Regions. And just a few days after taking office, the invasion of the Taris system began. As Taka always used to do in his operations, he was the first to set foot on the field. He used to say "In order to inspire your men by your example, you have to be with them. And to address the situation correctly, you have to be on the field."

Taka Aioko was selected as the fourth Secretary-General of the Galactic Alliance on Year 12 Day 62 and served for two successive terms. He was the first one who came from the New Republic. At the time Taka stated "''It's a honor, but it's also a complicated situation, ANG's case and TSK/FF's issue has put the GA between the wall and the sword, so we all agree we need to evolve. That's the only thing we tend to agree tho. But alas, hope is the last thing that dies, so we'll keep trying, we can't fail this time.''"

Taka would also serve a second term as SecGen, and a new treaty was signed. The main objective was allowing non governments in the alliance, and a more fair balance of power. Mandor von Uberwald, Leader of Rogue Squadron, had this to say about Chief of State Aioko's time as SecGen:

"''I've only had the chance to see Taka's leadership abilities in the course of our work in the GA. What I've noticed is that he doesn't strive to do everything himself, but instead gives the right tasks to the right people. That is what makes a good leader in my opinion.''

''As for his work as a SecGen within the GA, the fact that he was the man who decided to start the process of reforming the GA treaty speaks for itself. It was a job that had to be done and done in a way that would keep the GA together as an alliance. Everyone realizes that the GA is found around the NR and everything could have easily gone wrong. Taka tried it and it worked for the GA and as a perfect example - the GE tried to do a similar reform within the IU and failed miserably. That's all that has to be said I think''"

'''Operation Argo:'''

During [[Operation Argo]] Taka and Franco Nejo were able to go beyond the enemy line unnoticed and reduce Black Sun's control of the planet. The subsequent plan to secure the planet counted with two full battle groups from the military and it was highly successful. They managed to liberate over 97% of the planet in a few hours, allowing the NR to shield it completely in the future. Black Sun didn't put up much of a fight.

On year 12 Day 138 a new treaty was established on Adbauniac today between governing officials and diplomats from New Republic; these documents formalize the transition of power to becoming a protected territory of the government, a move largely embraced by the citizenry.

During the operation in Adbauniac Taka arrested Deren Strife, which prompted tensions with the Anzatan Commonwealth.
"''We took the planet quickly and while I was at it I found Deren in one of the cities we were building, I didn't know if he was there to arrest our builders or not, after checking with NRI it turned out that he had a past with Black Sun, so I decided to arrest him.''

''And about the reference from NRI potentially being fabricated, in one of the first responses by Deren he confirmed he had worked for Black Sun. So no, it wasn't fabricated.''

''After a few days I was contacted by the Anzatans with a group of demands about Deren, like handing out all our information about this case within 2 days. Apart of that being pretty rude for a diplomat, we knew they've always had strong connections with Black Sun. And I had in mind Deren had a commanding position during a time where Black Sun did a lot of harm to the NR, so I wasn't willing to let the guy walk just like that.''

''Nevertheless, I always thought this was a case for the Justice Department, not the executive, so I suggested doing a hearing like we did for a very similar case in the past (Turner's). I basically passed the ball to the JD so they could decide if a trial was needed or not, according to the Criminal Organizations Act.''

''I believe it never took place because Deren failed to appoint his defense, you can ask Raikov what happened because he was the Associate Minister of Justice at the time. The Anzatans tried to appoint Deren's defense but the JD decided that Deren was the person who had to.''

''My point of view about what to do with Deren has been always the same, our judiciary should decide his fate, it's their jurisdiction. I've been opposed to setting him free over a political decision, or just as a diplomatic leverage, but nevertheless I passed his custody when I was asked to by Cheda.''

''Obviously I'm less than happy on how easy some people give in to the lies and clumsy badmouthing coming from the Anzatan Commonwealth, something that was present during the whole Deren case as well. On year 12 day 142 JMC is looted and Taka described it as the lowest point during the first term "''It made us lose momentum with the Tax Planet in Denab, caused a crisis in JMC and derivated in Vee Null's attack in Aracelezog. We had to pull many of our resources from different projects so we could secure the affected planets, and we had to keep moving stolen mats and rebuild our mining infrastructure for a long time.''"

On year 12, day 218 Vexander Graves discovered that Taka was force sensitive and just five days later Azzi Blackgate agreed to take him under his wings once again. By accepting his tutelage, Taka gained a mentor who guided him through the Force. Taka's force skills were honed to a fine edge by his master.

Taka reached knighthood before the end of his first term as Chief of State. During his trials Taka had a vision of a lightsaber sunk in the rivers of Tythe I. After flying his ship to said area, Taka chased a force ghost that guided him to the big Falls of Loadami. After swimming in deep inside a cave, Taka rescued a marvelous lightsaber.

Taka Aioko didn't know much about it but he was able to notice that the name 'Harpe' was written on the handle. Harpe had a golden and silver handle with a deep white mysterious crystal which was suspected to be a [[Solari crystal]]. These misterious crystals are only visible in the late evening and are found on the planet Sacorria, although it is unknown if there was any connection between the lightsaber and the operation CoS Aioko had led months before in that planet. When turned on Harpe irradiated an undoubtly light side energy.

Taka quickly started feeling that it wasn't a coincidence that destiny had put many mentors in his way that later turned out to be force sensitive, just like it happened to him. First Johnny Moon, then Azzi Blackgate, then Evan Traner... and deep inside he knew there was more to come. Destiny reveals itself to everybody, and this was just the beginning.

Taka focused his training on the lightside of the force and tried to connect with the senbes around him. His initial training was based on the soresu form, but he decided to learn different techniques in favor of adaptability.

'''Jeff Knight:'''

On year 12 day 224 Jeff Knight is expelled from the New Republic in a joint decision between NRI and Taka. Past and current transgressions plus a serious warning from Jeff's own circle that he was planning to harm the New Republic if his PSA didn't pass sealed his fate.

On year 13, day 3 The Chief of State-elect resulted Taka Aioko, with 58 votes, followed by Geran Nightshadow with 14 votes and Raven Morrow with 4 votes.

During his campaign Taka was asked what had he done best the past year as CoS, and he answered "''I think it was probably keeping a cool head during all those moments that there was a general feeling of pesimism, something that periodically happens in any group. I think it's important for a leader to transmit that sense that everything's is going to be alright in the long run, just gotta keep offering solutions and steady work.''"

'''Personal Defense Sets'''

For a long time Taka instructed his administration to negotiate access to personal defense technology so it could be distributed between the general populace. After nothing coming out of it, Taka himself took matters into his own hands by negotiating with Rogue Squadron and producing the armor sets in Tythe III.

The program became pretty popular in the New Republic, and in its announcement Taka said: "''Well, as it's well known we are getting closer to combat, and chances are the enemy could hit anywhere, we can expect battles to take place in our own systems. We take our people's security seriously and we are planning ahead to offer the best protection for everybody, including civilians. We don't really want to encourage people to fight without the proper training and coordination, but when it comes down to armour it's useful even if you don't intend to fight.''

''So we'll be offering 13 sets of armour to each person, including heavy armour, heavy helmet and energy shield. The first production run should be ready by next weekend, so we'll be giving more details in the following days. RDC and MoTI are also working on providing access to lesser armour for sale for those who are interested on setting up more squads.''"

'''Second Term Conclusions'''

The second year wasn't as prolific as the first one, and Taka admitted it in different interviews. "''To be honest the second year was pretty slow and as a leader I failed to smooth the internal division in the New Republic, or at least trying to divert the focus to fighting the Empire or to more pragmatic projects like construction and production. I can't say in general that the Republic went in the direction I would have liked to, and that was partly my fault. There's still many radical, organizational and structural problems, and many of them will need a constitutional reform. It feels that lately we've been applying patches and putting band aids over wounds rather than finding a more standing solution. I guess there's still many challenges for the new generations to entertain themselves with.''"

Some years later he would go deeper in details "''Sometimes I get surprised on how good some people remember those years. Especially that second term, I think people sometimes forget how big the divide was in the Senate and even in the AC. It was a constant state of swimming upstream. During my first term it was easier because most of the flak came from the Senate, but during the second term problems came from inside. It's natural that everybody has strong ideas on how to run their own departments, but it turned pretty difficult when some of the councilors also tried to impose their own ideas on other departments, including cross military/civil and perpendicular to how I intended to run the New Republic.''"

"''Yes, I can admit that by the end I was exhausted and frustrated, but I think I could've just taken a short break and run for a third term. It just didn't go with my beliefs, and that's why I proposed that ammendment. I truly believe in diversity and I always thought that in one or two years I would have completed my cycle as a leader, so I took the end as a natural fact of life. And of course I was also weary of my own ego, it's easy to be betrayed by it and become what you hate the most. A tyrant. When you hold so much power you walk a thin path, and the day you stop questioning yourself you're very close from getting lost.''"

At the end of his second term Taka said in an interview when asked what goal he was proud of accomplishing "''That’s an excellent question. There were a few things that I wanted to change when I decided to run the first time. I think we had assumed a ‘can't be done’ attitude, a victim and pessimistic stance. The successful attacks on Black Sun and Eidola, as a continuation of the attack on Corellian Security Force and Galactic Empire showed the NR and our enemies that we were still out there lurking. The Chief of State curse was another thing that bothered me and I thought we needed to get rid of.''"

When asked about his biggest frustration he added "''Well, apart from all the infighting and the constant attacks, the liberation of Adbauniac was a double edged dagger. Hitting Black Sun was not only the right thing to do, after losing so many good people to them it became personal, so completing Argo was a great satisfaction. Yet it got zero repercussion or celebration within the New Republic. I think people only got interested with that guy I arrested during the operation. That just blew my mind, I felt I came from a paralel universe.''"

===Governor of Tythe===
Just a few weeks before his administration ending Taka was asked in different interviews what were his plans after the elections and he answered he was planning to keep training in the ways of the force and probably apply for governor of Tythe (former Vyzerod). Just a few days after leaving office, on year 14 day 28, Taka did apply for governor but some time later he would find out that someone else, Huwan Swelek, had applied for the same position very soon after Taka had left office.

Taka was also questioned about the timing and the reasons to apply for Governor, alluding to a possible abuse of access. Taka consequently withdrew his application, and didn't reconsider some days later after finally being offered the position. Taka said "''I did overreact but I was bothered to no end on how quickly I went from CoS to likely suspect, over someone I had never heard of before. I felt I was being rushed out the door, severing the one tie I had stated I was planning to have. Even when I had my own doubts on the timing of the other person's application, withdrawing mine was not only a knee jerk reaction it was also the right thing to do since the other was sent first.''"

Over a year later Taka decided to apply again, and on year 15 day 122 he became Governor of Tythe once again. Nevertheless he halted his work once he took over leadership at Ubrikkian Industries, as he didn't have time to deal with the bureaucracy that comes with the permissions needed to build through nats. Taka had planned to go back to the New Republic proper and continue his governor duties from there, but UI was in dire need of active workers.

===Back to Ubrikkian Industries===

On year 15 day 202 Taka replaced Popara the Hutt as leader of Ubrikkian. Taka's old friend and then Minister of Trade & Industry Izec McCrimmon had asked him to help the New Republic's vehicle producer for one more time, and Aioko agreed. Like he used to do years before, he led the company and prepared the next generation to take over, in this case Jaxom Anlon. On year 15 day 312 Jaxom Anlon took over leadership and Taka took a lower role in the company.

===Training===

After stepping down as CEO of Ubrikkian, Taka spent most of his time meditating in the swamps of Tythe I, and sometimes force training. When asked about his retirement Taka said "''I never really expected to be retired for this long, to be honest. I offered my help a few times, but I was dismissed. I feel I could have given my input in different operations the New Republic held, like the one were Cheda was captured, but I was kept out of the loop like most people... I was sent to help with the Knight's Council during Azzi's administration but I got no response, and my rank there has always been so 'undisclosed' that I don't even know what it is. I know I was considered for Minister of State at some point, but finally I was never asked. I have agreed to take lower positions in the civil, yet I was never confirmed, just radio silence. But at the same time I also think it might be for best, I'm not as easy to motivate at this point in life. I have accepted that my role in the New Republic is to train in the force and do basic chores like prospecting when a friend asks for help.''"

The '''Battle of Sacorria''' (also known as '''Operation Chiron''' by the New Republic, and [[Nathaniel_Durane#Operation_WOUNDED|Operation WOUNDED]] from the Galactic Empire) was the liberation of the planet [[Sacorria]] from [[CorSec]] and the [[Galactic Empire]] by [[New Republic]] forces.<ref>[http://www.swcombine.com/community/news/gnsarchive.php?display=2&postID=27025&category=20 The liberation of Sacorria]</ref> Sacorria was a planet located in the Corellian Sector, core area, and according to the current galactic coordinate system, it corresponds to Callos VII.

The battle took place while the [[Imperial Union]] leaders had gathered in [[Coruscant]], just a few hours away from that star system. The IU leaders were there to recognize the ascension of [[Thomas Cherokee]] to the Imperial Throne as well as hold a summit to address Union matters, including the ratification of a revised Charter. It was the first time the Union leaders had gathered in one location since the [[Coronation Ball]] of [[King Alexander of Hapes]],<ref>[http://www.swcombine.com/community/news/gnsarchive.php?display=2&postID=21960&category=20 News from the Hapes Cluster]</ref> earlier that same year. It was called [[The Coruscant Summit]]<ref>[http://www.swcombine.com/community/news/gnsarchive.php?display=2&postID=26939&category=20 Union Leaders Assemble at Coruscant]</ref> and it was the first real meeting between the Union leaders since the admission of the [[Trade Federation]] to the Union on Day 295 of Year 9.

Historians managed to put their hands on declassified information sources, and the following records include views from the NR side of the events.

===Preparations===
During his time as Republican Minister of State, [[Taka Aioko]] noticed that a few enemy planets had fissures in their defenses. Therefore, he began researching if a possible liberation of those territories was feasible, and subsequently planned the operations. Time represented a critical factor, however, because it was short: the cities supporting the rebel cause were in danger of imminent obliteration, and the Galactic Authority on Universe Matters was discussing an overall reorganization of all the solar systems.

During the planning stage, the Sacorria operation received the key name of "Raid Core" and, in parallel, two other operations were organized:
# "Raid UR", which would later be renamed [[Operation Blackbeard]];
# "Raid OR-F4" which would later take its shape as [[Operation Argo]].

Minister Aioko recruited thirteen people for the raid, and those who accepted (including other Advisory Council members) were kept unaware of anything but general details. The enemy or the planet were never disclosed, and the day of the assault wasn't shared with the team until two days before zero hour. Many people refused to participate in the operation over the lack of information that was shared.

During an interview, Minister Aioko said: "''I trusted most of the people I tried to recruit for the Operation, but when you trust someone with a secret, you can count on them to trust other people with it, and then it's only a matter of time before it reaches the wrong ear. The Empire had always agents among us, so I was even vague on my own notes during the preparations.''" Recruiting was not easy, thus Minister Aioko eventually included one SFC officer who was assigned to him but wasn't cleared for that operation in particular.

The main rendezvous point was set in Kashyyyk, where thousands of Wookies and Trandoshans were recruited to assist with the construction efforts. Two [[Modular Transport Cruiser|Modular Transport Cruisers]] acted as motherships, the ''NRS Dues'' and ''NRS Prospero''. The fleet also counted nine [[A-Wing|A-Wings]] and several [[BFF-1 Bulk Freighter|Bulk Freighters]]. When all assets were docked, both MTCs jumped into hyper to Corellian space.

On Year 11 Day 347, Minister Aioko briefed his raid party for the last time:

"''This next day 350 at approximately 8 hours we are expected to arrive in our target's orbits, one moon and the main target, a planet. I will talk to you all individually to clear out doubts, so don't worry. In this step, coordination is going to be a key factor, we need Beta and Gamma teams to start building at the same time and finish as soon as possible, because every minute is going to count in our favor.''

Early on Day 350, Alpha team moved to Sacor system from the north while the other teams entered from the south. Alpha team quickly moved to the moon Corri II and the rest headed to Sacorria planet.

As usual with Minister Aioko, he wanted to be the first to set foot on the ground. He often said: "''In order to inspire your men by your example, you have to be with them. And to address the situation correctly, you have to be on the field.''"

Within an hour most build commanders (Minister Taka Aioko, Minister Jay Ceveri, Commander Walter Griffiths, Secretary Franco Nejo, Wing Commander Evan, Master Colin Saracco) were in position and construction started. However, Jedi Master Saracco couldn't make it in time so he was replaced by Group Captain Wan.

Most of Day One was spent working hard on construction, involving hundreds of military engineers, mainly Wookiees and Trandoshans. A reserve of 2,000 builders was awaiting on Sacorria's orbit. Six hundred fortifications were needed to strengthen the rebellious troops, yet 800 were started. The goal was to be able to spread the rebellion to the whole planet on the third day.

Tension among the Republican ranks faded away with the passing hours, as no enemy activity was observed. But a problem emerged for Alpha team as they didn't have all the raw materials they needed for their construction plans, although they had enough to fullfil their primary objective.

The New Republic also relied on a friendly base in the nearby moon of Sarcophagus.

That night, Cruz Skyff was on watch around Sacorria while Rekka Deott waited at atmosphere level inside his [[YT-1210|YT-1210]]. No imperial forces were present during the first day.

===Day Two===
Day two was a pretty calm day; Minister Aioko spent most of his time answering questions through his holoprojector for his Chief of State campaign.

By the end of the day, two enemy ships were sighted. A Sleuth that made it to Sacorria's orbit and a Y-Wing Longprobe that landed at coordinates (4, 2).

===Day Three===
The third day started busily: many engineers were arrested while building, and more imperial forces showed up. Vizier Jacen Varos, Petty Officer Ron Mock, Imperial Admiral and CorSec 2IC Bru Michaels, Rear Admiral, CO 7th Imperial Fleet Markus Saretti, Private Tobi Beck were among them.

During the initial few hours the battle looked like a dance party, with the Imperials arresting rebels, and the Republican forces freeing them and let them return to work, while the Imperials were also chasing the ones in command. A few hours later, this dance turned into a blood bath: the Imperial forces started executing anyone on sight.

Long hours were spent trying to keep construction ongoing and rescuing the engineers that finished their work. The following afternoon would become one of the most dangerous and bloodiest hours of our current age.

By the end of Day Three, the Imperial forces started laying their own strongholds.

The number of casualties among the republican and rebel forces reached the thousands, and the red colour of the dawn of that early morning of Day 353 could be easily mistaken as blood. Nonetheless, eventually the upheaval was successful and CorSec lost its planetary control. The Galactic Flashnews announced "''It appears today as though brute force is not quite enough to keep the citizens of Sacorria down, as they have stepped up and taken power from the old leader, long hailed as a puppet of CorSec, and forced all CorSec-aligned politicians to resign their positions, ceding power to local control.''"

But the day had just begun. A race between the New Republic and Imperial forces to seize lands around the planet took place, with the New Republic forces running from behind. However, they camouflaged their actual strongholds, disorienting the enemy.

After just a few but intense hours, the New Republic was able to secure 54% percent of the territory, while Imperial forces secured 44%. The remaining 2% was uninhabitable.

The following is the report of Minister Aioko's communication to his troops: "''I'll be really short this time because I'm pretty sleep deprived like all of you. After 3 days of work and risking our necks, we were able to win the battle in the last hours. Out of 100% of the territory, 2% is volcanic, 54% is now ours and the enemy has only 44%, so they can't push us back.''

''For those of us who are staying to finish the job, the Imperials are still able to arrest in the planet until our power generators finish and we take control of the planet. We have to be extra careful and work in groups of two: at this point it doesn't make any sense to take any risks. I will leave handcuffs in orbit for when the time comes or for any inconveniences. We will attempt to secure the planet now that we have the manpower and tactical advantage.''

''I think I will never forget how bravely you fought the last two days, it was really impressive. And not long from now we will start planning the next place where we need to kick some butt, so I will eventually ask you guys if you're interested.''"

Surprisingly for the republican troops, the Imperial forces didn't give up the fight. Instead, they doubled down and dispatched even more reinforcements to stop the New Republic from establishing their government on the planet. At this point in time, the Imperial forces included also construction teams.

On the fourth day occurred what the Republicans later called the [[Evan Conforth incident]]. While assisting a group of Wookiee engineers, Wing Commander Cornforth passed out for more than 40 minutes outside his ship, risking his life. A transcript of the radio communication was published a few years later. Soon after this incident Evan's CO would ask him to leave the operation as he didn't have the proper authorization, but he would be allowed to stay after reconsideration.

By the end of the day, an Imperial Victory Star Destroyer I with 303 passengers and 60 ships, including bulks, arrived in Sacorria's orbit. On the New Republic's part, the SFC forces joined the fight providing 6 A-Wings under Alexandre Daigle's command.

===Day Five===

Day five was a fierce battle around the New Republic's power generators that were under construction. The Republican forces managed to read the tactics used by every Imperial officer, and communicated a change of counter-attack strategy to each engineer team involved, based on the single preference of each enemy. Consequently, the number of rebel casualties decreased significantly.

Both sides expanded their fortifications on the planet. Also, by the end of the day Jedi Master Evan Traner arrived in Sacorria to contribute to the local population's liberation, despite the fact that he had initially refused to take part of the operation because of the lack of details given to him.

===Day Six===
Just a handful of hours before the New Republic could gain definite control of the planet, a galaxy-wide natural phenomenon affected all activities related to construction, preventing them from progressing or finishing. Later, scientists would explain that a strong magnetic wave had temporarily inverted polarity, creating a domino effect that propagated throughout the whole charted worlds. This explanation is still debated, though; in any case, this anomaly gave the Imperial forces a second wind, while morale within New Republic ranks diminished as the hours went by.

As a matter of fact, the Imperials put more and more pressure on the attackers' power generators that were still under construction, as reinforcements were deployed. The killings continued for hours while the Republican forces could do nothing but watch.

===Day Seven===
On the seventh day, the magnetic anomaly persisted and the Republican forces made the best of a bad matter and spent the time to regroup and reorganize. The moon Sarcophagus was prospected and plans were laid to start mining it. Now there was the serious and actual danger that the quick raid would become an operation prolonged for months. Any day more would go against the rebellious population, for a simple reason: being Sacorria deep inside Imperial territory, it was easy for the Galactic Empire to keep pouring reinforcements and assets, whereas the Republican forces would struggle to provide a steady flow of raw materials for the operation.

===Day Eight===
And here came Day 357. It was [[Black Forest Day]], which the Republicans also call Kashyyyk Massacre Remembrance. 
The magnetic anomaly lasted two days but it was now gone. This, coupled with the special anniversayr infused morale among the rebels' ranks. The cry of hundreds of Wookiees yelling for freedom flooded the battlefield, and in a matter of hours Sacorria was freed. Wookiees and Trandoshan, who have a long-lasting and mutual hatred, on that occasion set their pride aside and showed an uncommon bravery in fighting together against the Empire. The remembrance of the useless and groundless massacre at their expenses might have spurred the Wookiees to do their outmost to avoid the same experience to another innocent people.

The local population quickly acknowledged the New Republic as having an important role in their independency process, and very gladly recognized the New Republic as their official government. This was announced by the Galactic Flashnews: ''"A new treaty was established on Sacorria today between governing officials and diplomats from New Republic; these documents formalize the transition of power to becoming a protected territory of the government, a move largely embraced by the citizenry."''

In the afternoon, the Republican troops started making prisoners, who were moved to the shielded moon of Sarcophagus. The conflict was beginning to end. Arrest forces were led by Jedi Masters Traner and Saracco, but also included Walter Griffiths, Franco Nejo, Jay Ceveri, Rekka Deott, Taka Aioko, Ruben Wan and [[Andre Archer]].

Imperial forces slowly started a strategic retreat.

===Aftermath===
On Year 11 Day 358, just a day after the establishment of the New Republic's government in Sacorria, the Imperial Union released a Galactic News about The Coruscant Summit, that is where a new treaty was ratified and Thomas Cherokee was recognized to the Imperial Throne. 
A few weeks later CorSec ceded control of all its planets to the Galactic Empire.

On Year 12 Day 4, the Thyferran Taka Aioko was elected Chief of State of the New Republic and after securing Sacorria he would immediately continue with Operation Blackbeard in the Unknown Regions, which took place on Day 22.

'''Taka Aioko''' is a Thyferran jedi best known for his two terms as Chief of State of the [[New Republic]].

Before holding that position Taka Aioko worked exclusively in civil sectors, and covered many positions leading several nationalized companies, eventually becoming Minister of State. Taka Aioko refered himself many times as a man of action.

As Minister of State, he worked in the restructure of the New Republic organization and was appointed Second in Command of the New Republic. Before his election to Chief of State, he commanded successfully [[Battle of Sacorria | Operation Chiron]], which liberated the planet Sacorria from [[CorSec]] and the [[Galactic Empire]], for which he earned the Perlemian Star of Freedom.

Soon after elected Taka Aioko successfully commanded two other operations: [[Operation Blackbeard]], which liberated the planets Galus and Hararyn from Eidola, and [[Operation Argo]] which liberated Adbauniac from [[Black Sun]].

Aioko was re-elected in Year 13 Day 17, becoming the very first sentient to have filled the role of Chief of State for two consecutive administrations. In addition to be a record ''per se'', his two-year administration managed to break what the galaxy had called "the curse of the New Republic Chief of State," referring to the past gloom history of the New Republican Chiefs of State.

Taka Aioko's double election made him the sixth and seventh Chief of State of the New Republic, despite some sources indicate Cheda Quche as the seventh CoS. Taka Aioko was also elected as Secretary General of the Galactic Alliance for two consecutive terms while holding the chair of Chief of State of the New Republic.

Taka Aioko is a Thyferran man with a lean frame. He has dark hair and brown skin, and
looks to be around 38 years of age. He wears formal jedi gear most of the time, but enjoys
wearing Hawaiian shirts when he is kicking back. He is very active and full of energy, which often spurs others onward. He is easy going and
straight forward, maintaining a sense of calm through adversity.

Taka was born in the human colony of Mirega on Thyferra. The world is a primary source for
bacta, and farming is a way of life there. As a youth Taka would labor with his father, working
their land to produce Alahzi to be used in bacta creation. It was hard, back-breaking work, but
as a young man Taka learned to value the simple things in life, that anything worth having must
be earned. His mother, Naoki, was a beautiful, gentle hearted woman and his father, Sono, was a
hardworking man of the land.

Growing up he always had a special place in his heart for starships and space travel. Late at night
after working the fields all day he would look through a book he owned that detailed various
starships. He must have read through it a thousand times, but it didn't matter. Any chance he had
to see a ship or even set foot in one he was there. Taka longed to leave the planet but it was almost impossible under the rule of the Empire. While he enjoyed the
simple life of Thyferra, he knew deep down inside that if he were to stay here he would forever
wonder what might have happened.

Eventually the New Republic liberated the planet and Taka decided it was a good moment to travel
to their Capital Planet, Adbatar.

===Corellian Transport Services===

In Year 8 Day 119 by chance or by the Force and while travelling around Adbatar City, Taka made the acquaintance of
Johnny Moon, a Corellian Transport Services (CTS) officer who offered him a job in the company. Taka quickly adopted Johnny as a father figure and kept in contact for a long time, even after Johnny was found to be force sensitive and left to join the Jedi Order.

Taka thoroughly enjoyed himself while working for CTS. He was doing the things he loved and he excelled in his pilot training, quickly moving up to captain of a starship. He also met a lot of friends that he learned to depend on along the way like, Kit Lorcan, Adhrakhon Tlakh`sar, Van Harrad, Mosiah Brightblade, Nathos Alzoon, Rekka Deott, Craulani Ortesma, Jenssar Drovvad, Kurva Darksword, Draelin Dumas and Azzi Blackgate, who would eventually become his main mentor.

Things were really looking up for Taka back in CTS, and then he met a girl, a new CTS recruit. Her name was Craulani Ortesma and she quickly became his best friend's student. Taka and Lani became good friends and continued in this way for a while, but they both knew there was some chemistry between them. However, they were both just starting out in their careers and were hesitant to take the relationship any further. Sadly for him, they fell out of contact for a while when Taka was sent to help outside CTS.

Taka was sent by Kit Lorcan, his CTS liason, to work with Republic Mining Corporation (led by Nov Chebot) and Alph Virpen on the reconstruction of Tierfon system after the war against the 12 Colonies. Taka worked side by side with other pilots like Braiden Novalis.

The New Republic at the time was under a constant state of turmoil, and after a couple of months working in that project and a tax planet with them, Nov, Alph and Kit quit the NR leaving Taka's career in a crossroads: with all his direct bosses gone he decided to leave as well, just a couple of days before Amun Sokar would loot RMC.

'''Medical Classes'''

Since he first joined the New Republic, Taka was always interested in Republic Medical. His Thyferran blood had always made Taka interested in pursuing a career as a doctor. While he was still in CTS he started taking his medical classes, where Sylesta Orion was the teacher. With time he made many more friends at Republic Medical, like Cyon Silverwing, Mabilah Gaian, Kaito Mizuno, Keishi Miahr and Sephe Nighthawk.

'''Safetyhouse Program'''

During one of his visits for the medical courses at Republic Medical, Taka Aioko was hired by Master Uzziah Akim as project lead in the technological department of the Safety House Program. Said program compiled different locations where allied personnel could get medical assistance accross the galaxy.

'''Thyferran Social Club'''

While in CTS Taka started the Thyferran Social Club, a place for Thyferrans from all around the galaxy and from all sort of goverments to keep in touch. The list of Thyferrans included Alanna Taralom, Josh Jericho, Selene Tal-Kyrte, Bento Hadaar, Aeternal Conclave, Mabilah Gaian, En Sabah Nur, Sylesta Orion, Kaede Kazegami, Craulani Ortesma, Hiyo Rogo, Wolfgang Rasolam, Kaito Mizuno and many more other non-thyferran friends.

===Outback Industries===

When Taka found himself without instructions for days due to his bosses leaving the New Republic he decided to pursue other ventures. Taka's Thyferran friend Selene Tal-Kyrte had asked him for help in Outback Industries (OI) and he just couldn't refuse. After working and getting to know Selene better they
both discovered they had the shared dream of rebuilding their home planet, Thyferra, and OI could be a great tool for it. Tragically
this dream came crashing down when Adam Flynn and his gang looted the NR and took over
Thyferra.

As soon as Taka heard the news about the coup in the New Republic, he grabbed his pilot suit and hurried to lend a hand, rescuing a few people like Republic Medical Doctor Keishi Miahr and SFC Marshal Jack Niels. The damage was already done and Taka soon returned to OI.

Taka Aioko became OI's leader just after a couple of months of working in the company. The successful was big, the company grew from just a handful of members to over 30 people, allowing them to become the backbone of the Tamerin Foundation. He recruited many people who would later become friends and follow him back to the New Republic, like Walter Griffiths, Colin Saracco and Kristina Roberts.

Taka continued on in his life, fulfilling several positions in government at different points in
time, such as Counselor, Governor and Lord Lieutenant. Taka also performed as a diplomat for the New Anzatan Order in the New Republic mediation between NAO and Kathol Republic.

But before leaving the New Republic he had promised he would go back in a non distant future. Many of his longtime friends were still with the NR and he sorely missed them, especially Lani, whom
he happened to run into when he previously returned to assist during the aftermath of the coup.
After making the decision to return he started talking with her again and this time it was clear
there were feelings of more than just friendship present. As Taka got more involved in Anzatan politics he didn't like what he saw. He described their leader Wilhelm von Ismay as the equivalent of a third world dictator, someone who had many lackies around, people who would flatter the Regent when around him and plan his assassination the rest of the time. Not long after Taka resigned to all of his positions and titles and returned to the New Republic, with his journey in the Tamerin Foundation only lasting six months.

When Taka decided to go back to the New Republic, joining Republic Medical was no brainer for him. Taka had developed a friendship with Republic Medical's doctor Keishi Miahr after the coup, and she recommended Taka for one of the jobs he always felt attracted to, Director of Operations in the medical department of the New Republic. Taka Aioko joined Republic Medical on day 121 and he was able to repeat the success he had in OI, taking command of the operations department, where he reinstated the RMSUs and recruited many members. While coordinating with the medical area and the military Taka met someone who'd become one of his most admired and trusted colleagues, Jahu Skyla, also known as Husky.

Just after a few months of coming back, Taka didn't like what he saw in the Republic's leadership. He grew more and more suspicious of the likes of Edhrikor Tlakh'sar and Owen von Ismay, so he decided to get more involved. He was also concerned about Keishi, who had met Wilhelm von Ismay when she visited Taka at Outback Industries and whom she started to develop a relationship with.

At the same time Taka and Lani continued to meet, often, and developed a much deeper relationship. Taka proposed to Lani, who though surprised at the suddenness of it all, felt the same and she accepted. They planned the wedding for a few months
out while Taka settled into his new job working the medical department of the NR and Lani
departed on a long mission. Upon her return they enjoyed their wedding at the Home One Cruiser NRS Nautilus.

===Associate Minister of Technology===

Recruited by his old mentor Azzi Blackgate, who at the time had become Minister of Trade & Industry and a Jedi Knight, Taka is appointed as Associate Minister of Technology, overseeing the vehicle and droid national companies (Triton Dynamics, Industrial Automaton and Ubrikkian Industries). Azzi and Kit Lorcan continued to develop Taka's abilities as company administrator, instructing the basics of delegation. With time Taka would become what they used to call 'Nat Paramedic', someone who could take over a stalled or headless company and jump it started.
During his time as Associate Minister Taka was also in charge of the Middlemen Program.

Year 9 Day 214 was the day Taka Aioko took over leadership at Ubrikkian Industries & Associate Minister of Technology. Taka Aioko was once again able to take a company with a low amount of personnel and turn it around, keeping a base of over 30 active workers during his administration. Nevertheless his focus was on training new leaders that he could delegate his work, and eventually leave the company to dedicate himself full time to his role of Associate Minister.

On year 10 Day 90 left Ubrikkian Industries to focus on his duties as Associate Minister

On year 10 Day 118 Caitiri Ja'Brai retired as CEO of Triton Dynamics and Taka Aioko took over.

On year 10 Day 288 Taka Aioko proposed Ministry of Culture Officer Ruben Wan a new project, a library of maps. The project quickly became a joint effort between The Ministry of Culture and the Associate Ministry of Technology.

After a brief discussion Minister Aioko came up with the first version the very next day and kept growing during the following years. The Library was managed by Officer Ruben Wan and included maps of vehicles, ships, facilities and space stations that were mostly donated by different citizens. With time it became an information hub that was used as reference by senbes around the galaxy, including many people from outside the New Republic.

On Year 10 Day 333 Taka Aioko is appointed as Minister of Trade and Industry by Chief of State [[Zeff Traner]]. Aioko's continuous work, recruiting and delegation were enough to revitalize the Ministry of Trade and Industry. As result, military and civil production bloomed, and the department was also able to help with several crisis: the galactic housing crisis (Pop Op), the galactic city decay crisis, the Boolfin and Geedon IV crisis.

The main focus during his Ministry administration was implementing solar system based nats. Before, nats had production centers in distant planets, depending on JMC for materials. Under this new plan a nat would be allocated in one system, and they would manage their own mining, aiming for efficiency and self-sufficiency.

On year 10 Day 347 Taka was replaced by [[Izjna Khaldho]] as the leader of Incom.

On year 11 day 86 Taka Aioko was appointed as governor of the uncharted system of Vyzerod (later Tythe). With time this system would become the base of operations for Taka, a system where he trained and planned future operations. In one of the system planets, Shocore, Taka developed a planetary design that would become a literal symbol of freedom for the galaxy. Rates for housing there sky-rocketed in because of this and millions
of citizens decided to move to different parts of this true symbol of freedom.

On year 11 day 219 Taka Aioko was appointed as Minister of State by Chief of State [[Aves Sunfell]]. In this period Taka continued to remain very active and the civil side of the New Republic was able to keep fighting new galactic crisis, like the the galactic taxation crisis. Taka also kick started project Odiseo,
a joint project between Republic Medical and Ubrikkian Industries which produced large amounts of medical hardware for the New Republic at large.

During this time Taka also created the position of Secretary of State, which he basically described as second in command of the Minister of State or 'Ministry Paramedic', and appointed Azzi Blackgate in that chair. Also the mass production of Home Ones in the Galactic Alliance started.

Due to his continuous work in the handling of day to day general obligations, Taka is appointed Second in Command of The New Republic. During that time Taka also noticed that the New Republic had tactical advantage in a few enemy planets, so he began researching and planning the feasibility of their liberation. Time was a big factor due to the city decay crisis and inminent volatility of the solar system reorganization. Operation Chiron is conceived and executed, triggering what's also known as the [[Battle of Sacorria]].

On year 11 day 350 Taka gave the last briefing "''This next day 350 at approximately 8 hours we are going to be arriving to our target's orbits, one moon and the main target, a planet. I will talk to you all individually to clear out doubts, so don't worry.

''In this step coordination is going to be a key, we need Beta and Gamma teams to start building at the same time and finish as soon as possible, because every minute is going to count in our favor.''

After long hours of fighting which costed hundreds of Wookiee lives, on year 11 Day 353 following a rebellion against the Empire, the NR helped toward Sacorria's independency. Brute force was not quite enough to keep the citizens of Sacorria down, as they have stepped up and taken power from the old leader, long hailed as a puppet of CorSec, and forced all CorSec-aligned politicians to resign their positions, ceding power to local control. Six days later Sacorria held elections and decided to join the New Republic.

===Chief of State, First Term===

On year 12 Day 17 Taka Aioko became the sixth Chief of State for the New Republic by getting 96 votes and Ghon Webb finished as runner-up with 17.

Taka's original Advisory Council had a few changes compared to his predecessor, Dan Russ replaced Kapryn and Cheda Quche replaced Gryffin Grayurra. Lance moved back to the SFC and Taka's old position (MoS) was occupied by [[Andre Archer]]. At the same time Twiggy Samp took over the position of MoNR and Franco Nejo was appointed as MoCE. Taka said at the time "''A team not only needs good and skilled people to work well, it also needs that chemistry that makes each person have a complementary role according to the rest. During his campaign Taka stated that "''I think a wealthy State with wealthy individuals has the most chances to succeed than any other variants, that's why everytime this discussion came up I always said we should be encouraging the private sector. And I think I've supported that with actions, for example when I took over the Ministry of Trade & Industry I encouraged our nats to remove the restriction that you would only get the New Republic discount if you didn't resell, because I thought that was a good oportunity for the regular citizen to make their own credits. Apart from that I think I've had good experiences working with different PSAs in the past, like OMC and FreiTek.''

''We can't provide equal opportunities for New Republic Citizens to build on New Republic planets if we don't introduce equal limitations to all private parties, including PSAs. For example, if PSAs intend to build 100% of a planet, that leaves 0% for all the other PSAs, individuals or nats. I think this isn't the direction the NR should be taking and this directly breaks the governor's act. And by the way it doesn't make much sense to have a private company collecting taxes and using entire planets for their sole profit.''

I don't see any real reason why we should limit how two mature people can relate in a sentimental relationship.''

Early on his first term Taka proposed two Constitutional amendments to the Senate:

Removing the Pardon Power from the Chief of State and limiting the amount of consecutive terms for the Chief of State to two. The first proposal didn't get enough support in the Senate but the second one was passed for referendum and became part of the Constitution later on.

Regarding the Pardon Power Taka said in an interview "''Giving the CoS this power with no guidelines is giving a blank check, it can be easily used and abused. It goes against several basic justice principles, like the one that says everyone is supposed to be equal before the law, but a pardon right now can be applied on a whim or on a biased level, there's no guides for consistency. Also the rule of law, in its most basic form, is the principle that no one is above the law, but in this case basically the Chief of State is.''" Later he added "''I also take issue on how the proposal was treated in the Senate, how it was discussed and classified in one session, and revived in another session without declassifying the original discussion, so the public and even many Senators couldn't see many of the reasons behind it. I feel the only purpose was to slam the proposal without even providing the content to back it up.''"

Regarding the consecutive terms Taka told the Senate "''I think a Chief of State shouldn't be able to run again after two consecutive terms, for one or two elections. I believe in a democracy a goverment shouldn't be guided by the same person indefinitely, even if that's what the people chooses. The diversity of views and opinions is what makes us grow and we should encourage that. [...] The most important thing is avoiding the potential for monopoly.''"

During the transition Taka had already moved the troops for [[Operation Blackbeard]] to the Unknown Regions. And just a few days after taking office, the invasion of the Taris system began. As Taka always used to do in his operations, he was the first to set foot on the field. He used to say "In order to inspire your men by your example, you have to be with them. And to address the situation correctly, you have to be on the field."

On year 12 Day 34 a new treaty was established on Galus (Gevarno V) today between governing officials and diplomats from New Republic; these documents formalize the transition of power to becoming a protected territory of the government, a move largely embraced by the citizenry.

Taka Aioko was selected as the fourth Secretary-General of the Galactic Alliance on Year 12 Day 62 and served for two successive terms. He was the first one who came from the New Republic. At the time Taka stated "''It's a honor, but it's also a complicated situation, ANG's case and TSK/FF's issue has put the GA between the wall and the sword, so we all agree we need to evolve. That's the only thing we tend to agree tho. But alas, hope is the last thing that dies, so we'll keep trying, we can't fail this time.''"

Taka would also serve a second term as SecGen, and a new treaty was signed. The main objective was allowing non governments in the alliance, and a more fair balance of power. Mandor von Uberwald, Leader of Rogue Squadron, had this to say about Chief of State Aioko's time as SecGen:

"''I've only had the chance to see Taka's leadership abilities in the course of our work in the GA. What I've noticed is that he doesn't strive to do everything himself, but instead gives the right tasks to the right people. That is what makes a good leader in my opinion.''

The subsequent plan to secure the planet counted with two full battle groups from the military and it was highly successful. They managed to liberate over 97% of the planet in a few hours, allowing the NR to shield it completely in the future. Black Sun didn't put up much of a fight.

On year 12 Day 138 a new treaty was established on Adbauniac today between governing officials and diplomats from New Republic; these documents formalize the transition of power to becoming a protected territory of the government, a move largely embraced by the citizenry.

During the operation in Adbauniac Taka arrested Deren Strife, which prompted tensions with the Anzatan Commonwealth.
"''We took the planet quickly and while I was at it I found Deren in one of the cities we were building, I didn't know if he was there to arrest our builders or not, after checking with NRI it turned out that he had a past with Black Sun, so I decided to arrest him.''

On year 12, day 218 Vexander Graves discovered that Taka was force sensitive and just five days later Azzi Blackgate agreed to take him under his wings once again. By accepting his tutelage, Taka gained a mentor who guided him through the Force. Taka's force skills were honed to a fine edge by his master.

Taka reached knighthood before the end of his first term as Chief of State. During his trials Taka had a vision of a lightsaber sunk in the rivers of Tythe I. After flying his ship to said area, Taka chased a force ghost that guided him to the big Falls of Loadami. After swimming in deep inside a cave, Taka rescued a marvelous lightsaber.

Taka Aioko didn't know much about it but he was able to notice that the name 'Harpe' was written on the handle. Harpe had a golden and silver handle with a deep white mysterious crystal which was suspected to be a [[Solari crystal]]. These misterious crystals are only visible in the late evening and are found on the planet Sacorria, although it is unknown if there was any connection between the lightsaber and the operation CoS Aioko had led months before in that planet. When turned on Harpe irradiated an undoubtly light side energy.

Taka quickly started feeling that it wasn't a coincidence that destiny had put many mentors in his way that later turned out to be force sensitive, just like it happened to him. First Johnny Moon, then Azzi Blackgate, then Evan Traner... and deep inside he knew there was more to come. Destiny reveals itself to everybody, and this was just the beginning.

Taka focused his training on the lightside of the force and tried to connect with the senbes around him. His initial training was based on the soresu form, but he decided to learn different techniques in favor of adaptability.

On year 12 day 224 Jeff Knight is expelled from the New Republic in a joint decision between NRI and Taka. Past and current transgressions plus a serious warning from Jeff's own circle that he was planning to harm the New Republic if his PSA didn't pass sealed his fate.

For a long time Taka instructed his administration to negotiate access to personal defense technology so it could be distributed between the general populace. After nothing coming out of it, Taka himself took matters into his own hands by negotiating with Rogue Squadron and producing the armor sets in Tythe III.

The program became pretty popular in the New Republic, and in its announcement Taka said: "''Well, as it's well known we are getting closer to combat, and chances are the enemy could hit anywhere, we can expect battles to take place in our own systems. We take our people's security seriously and we are planning ahead to offer the best protection for everybody, including civilians. We don't really want to encourage people to fight without the proper training and coordination, but when it comes down to armour it's useful even if you don't intend to fight.''

''So we'll be offering 13 sets of armour to each person, including heavy armour, heavy helmet and energy shield. The first production run should be ready by next weekend, so we'll be giving more details in the following days. RDC and MoTI are also working on providing access to lesser armour for sale for those who are interested on setting up more squads.''"

'''Second Term Conclusions'''

The second year wasn't as prolific as the first one, and Taka admitted it in different interviews. "''To be honest the second year was pretty slow and as a leader I failed to smooth the internal division in the New Republic, or at least trying to divert the focus to fighting the Empire or to more pragmatic projects like construction and production. I can't say in general that the Republic went in the direction I would have liked to, and that was partly my fault. There's still many radical, organizational and structural problems, and many of them will need a constitutional reform. It feels that lately we've been applying patches and putting band aids over wounds rather than finding a more standing solution. I guess there's still many challenges for the new generations to entertain themselves with.''"

Some years later he would go deeper in details "''Sometimes I get surprised on how good some people remember those years. Especially that second term, I think people sometimes forget how big the divide was in the Senate and even in the AC. It was a constant state of swimming upstream. During my first term it was easier because most of the flak came from the Senate, but during the second term problems came from inside. It's natural that everybody has strong ideas on how to run their own departments, but it turned pretty difficult when some of the councilors also tried to impose their own ideas on other departments, including cross military/civil and perpendicular to how I intended to run the New Republic.''"

"''Yes, I can admit that by the end I was exhausted and frustrated, but I think I could've just taken a short break and run for a third term. It just didn't go with my beliefs, and that's why I proposed that ammendment. I truly believe in diversity and I always thought that in one or two years I would have completed my cycle as a leader, so I took the end as a natural fact of life. And of course I was also weary of my own ego, it's easy to be betrayed by it and become what you hate the most. A tyrant. When you hold so much power you walk a thin path, and the day you stop questioning yourself you're very close from getting lost.''"

At the end of his second term Taka said in an interview when asked what goal he was proud of accomplishing "''That’s an excellent question. There were a few things that I wanted to change when I decided to run the first time. I think we had assumed a ‘can't be done’ attitude, a victim and pessimistic stance. The successful attacks on Black Sun and Eidola, as a continuation of the attack on Corellian Security Force and Galactic Empire showed the NR and our enemies that we were still out there lurking. The Chief of State curse was another thing that bothered me and I thought we needed to get rid of.''"

When asked about his biggest frustration he added "''Well, apart from all the infighting and the constant attacks, the liberation of Adbauniac was a double edged dagger. Hitting Black Sun was not only the right thing to do, after losing so many good people to them it became personal, so completing Argo was a great satisfaction. Yet it got zero repercussion or celebration within the New Republic. I think people only got interested with that guy I arrested during the operation. That just blew my mind, I felt I came from a paralel universe.''"

===Governor of Tythe===
Just a few weeks before his administration ending Taka was asked in different interviews what were his plans after the elections and he answered he was planning to keep training in the ways of the force and probably apply for governor of Tythe (former Vyzerod). Just a few days after leaving office, on year 14 day 28, Taka did apply for governor but some time later he would find out that someone else, Huwan Swelek, had applied for the same position very soon after Taka had left office.

Taka was also questioned about the timing and the reasons to apply for Governor, alluding to a possible abuse of access. Taka consequently withdrew his application, and didn't reconsider some days later after finally being offered the position. Taka said "''I did overreact but I was bothered to no end on how quickly I went from CoS to likely suspect, over someone I had never heard of before. I felt I was being rushed out the door, severing the one tie I had stated I was planning to have. Even when I had my own doubts on the timing of the other person's application, withdrawing mine was not only a knee jerk reaction it was also the right thing to do since the other was sent first.''"

Over a year later Taka decided to apply again, and on year 15 day 122 he became Governor of Tythe once again. Nevertheless he halted his work once he took over leadership at Ubrikkian Industries, as he didn't have time to deal with the bureaucracy that comes with the permissions needed to build through nats. Taka had planned to go back to the New Republic proper and continue his governor duties from there, but UI was in dire need of active workers.

===Back to Ubrikkian Industries===

On year 15 day 202 Taka replaced Popara the Hutt as leader of Ubrikkian. Taka's old friend and then Minister of Trade & Industry Izec McCrimmon had asked him to help the New Republic's vehicle producer for one more time, and Aioko agreed. Like he used to do years before, he led the company and prepared the next generation to take over, in this case Jaxom Anlon. On year 15 day 312 Jaxom Anlon took over leadership and Taka took a lower role in the company.

===Training===

After stepping down as CEO of Ubrikkian, Taka spent most of his time meditating in the swamps of Tythe I, and sometimes force training. When asked about his retirement Taka said "''I never really expected to be retired for this long, to be honest. I offered my help a few times, but I was dismissed. I feel I could have given my input in different operations the New Republic held, like the one were Cheda was captured, but I was kept out of the loop like most people... I was sent to help with the Knight's Council during Azzi's administration but I got no response, and my rank there has always been so 'undisclosed' that I don't even know what it is. I know I was considered for Minister of State at some point, but finally I was never asked. I have agreed to take lower positions in the civil, yet I was never confirmed, just radio silence. But at the same time I also think it might be for best, I'm not as easy to motivate at this point in life. I have accepted that my role in the New Republic is to train in the force and do basic chores like prospecting when a friend asks for help.''"

Andre was still young at Leritor when the Empire took control of the Planet. His Kuuvan was formed basicaly by pacific miners, who decided not to antagonize the invading forces, served the empire as a workforce to extract as much minerals as possible from the oceans. After years of Empire domination, abusive taxes and deaths, Andre saw his parents taking the lead on a rebellion against the opressor forces. Unfortunately, the pacific sauvaxs didn't stand a change against the technology and military training of the empire forces, so after 2 weeks of confrontation, most of Andre's kuuvan members were dead or imprisioned, his parents among them.
The few remaining decided to leave the planet and seek refuge somewhere else. Andre and his brothers David and Vexander took the same path.
