Former Warrior Eminence '''Tyr DeMeer''' was the ruler of [[Mandalore]], a military dictatorship that governs a number of systems in the [[Colonies]], [[Inner Rim]], [[Expansion Region]], and [[Outer Rim Territories]].

==History==

===Early Childhood===

Tyr DeMeer does not know where he was born. He is one of several children to Magnus and Rishna DeMeer. The DeMeer family traveled around [[the galaxy]] due to reasons unknown to any others then Tyr's parents. The earliest memory Tyr has is from the planet [[Coruscant]] and the vast cities there. Because of this has he always assumed that he is a native [[Coruscanti]], but the DeMeer family didn't stay long and eventually moved on to another system.

Their destination of [[Corellia]], is known for being a centre of trade and commerce. They lived in the city of [[Coronet]], the capital of both [[Corellia (Planet)|Corellia]] and the [[Corellian (Sector)|Corellian Sector]] for many years. Here they had a small business, repairing and selling speeder bikes. While there, they lived a calm and relaxing life. Business was good and the family had everything they needed. It was during this time Tyr started to like Corellia and the people there. He was especially fascinated by the various pilots and adventurers that arrived and could listen to their stories for hours. It was during this time Tyr started to call Corellia "home" even if he was a Coruscani according to his Imperial papers. Then there was a downfall in the economy, especially for speeder bikes. Magnus and Rishna then decided that it was time for a change. Rishna had some family on the distant world of [[Tatooine]], so that became the obvious destination for the DeMeer family.

The whole family moved to Tatooine when Tyr was at the age of 9. Here they started a business repairing and selling parts for hyperspace capable ships. Tyr's father, Magnus, seemed to be a technical genius with talents in most areas of craftsmanship. Magnus also had several scars all over his body; some seemed to be made by claws, while others for sure came from various weapons. Every time Tyr or one of his siblings asked about them Magnus only said, "We shall talk about that when the time comes." Even Rishna had similar scars, but not as many as her husband, and she did not speak of them either and only changed subject when asked about them. All this made Tyr, his brothers, and sisters stop talking about them, even almost forgetting about them; even though Tyr thought about the scars sometimes, wondering where they came from.

When Tyr was about the age of fourteen, a few members of his family were caught in the crossfire between a local [[Hutt]] and a bounty hunter. Tyr's parents and one of his sisters were hit; Tyr's father and sister died immediately. But Rishna managed to survive for another four days during which the four brothers took care of her. She made them promise that they were going to stand for their beliefs and act with honor during their lives, keeping the DeMeer way of life. She spoke about both a world forgotten in time and a mission. Before she could tell the oldest brother, Mark, anything more, she passed away.

A close friend to the family, a man called Jonan Sanand and his wife Emma, native to Tatooine, took care of the DeMeer children from this point. Jonan owned a bar together with a noghri called Zhile in the area around the spaceports at Anchorhead. Since Tyr and his brothers spent most of their free time there, playing with the children of Jonan and Emma, they heard stories about the galaxy and great adventures. These years were probably the happiest ones in Tyr's life. Here, he could once again hear the stories he had loved hearing back at Corellia, and those stories kept nursing his dreams about adventure and feeling that he was meant for something else other than the dry planet of Tatooine.

When Tyr was eighteen years old, his older brother [[Mark DeMeer|Mark]] was twenty. Mark left the desert world of Tatooine to find his own destiny. Mark sent word back to Jonan and his family and told them that he had joined the [[Imperial Army]] and had command over an Imperial Battalion. Tyr, who always had been influenced by his older brother, read this letter over and over again. Then, one day was sure of what to do.

===Imperial Beginnings===

It was on the day of his twentieth birthday that a young Coruscani left Anchorhead and traveled towards Berchest. This was where the headquarters of the Imperial Army was located. With a recommendation from his older brother Mark, Tyr had the intention to sign up with the Army as his brother had.

The basic training and the Imperial academy were swiftly taken care of since the DeMeers seemed to have good genetics when it came to strength, agility and everything else that was needed for an excellent soldier. They also seemed to have a talent for strategy, tactics and leadership. The trainers and officers at both Berchest and later Carida, home world to the stormtrooper, were impressed by Tyr's learning capabilities and his talents in most areas; they thought that Tyr was born to become a soldier. Even Tyr was surprised that he so easily and swiftly worked his way through the basic training and later more advanced classes. It did not take long until Tyr became an expert in most areas of weapons and warfare, especially infantry and infiltration. He even had the time to attend naval classes becoming an over-average capital ship commander.

A few months into one of Tyr's assignments came the news. Mark, his brother, had been killed by pirates during an Imperial operation. This dramatically affected the young male. Both his role model and mentor, Mark, was dead. Tyr started once again to think about his parents and what his mother had spoken about. After this day, Tyr DeMeer seemed even more eager to behave and act like a true Imperial. His behavior was always according to protocols. However, according to some of his friends and the men serving under him, something seemed to die within him the same day after the notice about his brother came.

===Leave from the Empire===

Only a few weeks later, DeMeer and his unit were on a mission at one of the planets in the Corellian Sector, engaging a party of smugglers. During the combat that followed, DeMeer was wounded several times. His wounds came from both blasters and swords. A result of this was huge scar over his left eye, as well as several burn marks on his back and chest. These were the signs of an weathered soldier.

A few years after his brother's death, certain events within the [[Galactic Empire]] made Tyr decide it was time for a change. He took an extended leave from the Imperial Armed Forces and the Empire itself. He left while holding the rank of Corporal and left to become a freelancer, roaming around the vast galaxy in search for a new destiny. For many months he traveled around, visiting different worlds, looking for clues about the questions he had started to ask himself more and more often. "Who am I?", "Where do I come from?" After more than one year of searching he had not found any answers.

It was at this time he joined [[Horizon Security Corporation]], and became Admiral, commander of H.S.C.'s armed forces. Here Tyr stayed for several years. Over the years he built up the military power of Horizon, participated in missions throughout the galaxy, and attacked the enemies of Horizon. Then, during a mission against the [[New Anzat Order]] (NAO), Tyr and the other forces of Horizon, including the leader [[Venom Kazvar]], jumped into the Ingo system. Their intention was to take out the NAO fleet and capture their capital ship class-Guardian. But something happened.

Horizon had the superior fleet, everything happening as planned when suddenly their leader vanished mysteriously. Tyr became the new leader of Horizon. In addition, a large fleet from the [[Hapes Consortium]] arrived in aid of their allies, the NAO. DeMeer decided that it was better to retreat and fight another day than stay and perish in the space over [[Ingo]]. The fleet retreated into the deepness of space and regrouped.

===Return to the Empire===

Tyr ordered the fleet to plot a course towards [[Sullust]], and so they did. During the voyage there, Tyr thought about his situation and later came to a decision. He stepped down as leader and returned to Corellia and Imperial controlled space. Once there, he re-enlisted in the Imperial Army where he became a Major, Army Command Coordination Officer, and the 2nd Imperial Regimental Commander. Here he stayed for several more years. During this time he worked to improve the Imperial Army while also climbing the ladder of ranks and earning several awards. Now a Lieutenant Colonel, and recently returned from a large, successful assault on the [[Falleen Federation]] in the [[Battle of Beta|Beta System]], Tyr was awarded more medals and recognition throughout the Empire.

After returning from mission Beta, Tyr was assigned to inspect various garrisons throughout the galaxy. He traveled between the imperial controlled worlds to inspect the troopers and their defenses. During which he had to spend a lot of time alone in his vessel, Nox, an old [[YT-2000]] freighter which he had bought long ago at Tatooine. All that time in space gave Tyr time to think about his past and to think about the things his parents had hidden for himself and his living family.

Tyr knew that something was in movement, he could almost feel the change in his heart and bones. Something was happening. Then a few months after the [[Battle of Beta]], he received orders to report back at Coruscant. Brigadier General [[Durand]] had stepped down and been replaced by Brigadier General [[Drakken]]. Changes were to happen inside the Imperial Army. Upon arrival at the Imperial main world, Tyr was promoted to Colonel and assigned the duty of Army Executive Commander as well as the First Regiment Executive Officers. The army high command started to work on a new system inside the army, using a new term of legions, replacing battalions and regiments.

Tyr, now a Colonel, started to work on this new project with eagerness. This reform would once again show the galaxy that the Imperial Army is the greatest war-machine in the galaxy. There were a lot of things that had to be done to complete this reform so Tyr once again boarded his personal ship and started to travel to various army garrisons spread out through Imperial controlled space. His first stop was [[Carida]], home of the stormtroopers. Here he stopped to inspect the new batch of troopers, making sure they fulfilled the high standards held by the Imperial army. Next stop was Corellia. He visited the Moff of the Corellia Sector, [[Victor von Ismay]], as well as a representative from [[CorSec]] to discuss the outline of the Imperial army's presence in the sector.

===The rise of Mandalore===

Tyr also took the opportunity to visit the family house in Coronet. He hadn't visited this house for years and a lot of memories came back as he stepped inside the door. He remembers the days of laughter and play with his brothers and sisters. He remembered the faces of his parents and all the things they had done together. He also remembered a datapad which his father always worked with. This datapad sparked Tyr's interest. What had happened to it? It should still be here somewhere in the house. DeMeer couldn't remember seeing his father working with it after they had moved to Tatooine. After spending a few days on searching through the house as well as visiting old sites at Corellia, Tyr finally managed to find the datapad.

The pad was encrypted but it was not that hard to crack it, it was simply the first two letters from the first name of all the children Magnus DeMeer had. Once Tyr had gained access to the datapad he started to browse through it. At first Tyr couldn't believe what he was reading. Both his father and mother had been Mandalores. They had been sent out from their hidden location at the outer rim to scout and gather intelligence and then send it back to the [[Mandalore]] homeworld. This also meant that Tyr, as oldest member of the DeMeer family was in charge of one of the 12 [[Mandalorian|Clans]] at [[Mandalore (planet)| Mandalore]], and as such he had the right to challenge the Warrior Eminence for the right to rule Mandalore. The datapad also contained the coordinates for the Mandalore homeworld.

DeMeer quickly left Corellia and plotted a course towards Mandalore. It was a long trip since the planet was located outside known space, far out in one of the outer rim sectors. Once Tyr had arrived, he challenged the current Warrior Eminence to claim the right to lead the Mandalore into a new future, an open and bright future. Tyr defeated the leader and thus became the new Warrior Eminence of the Mandalore. It was time for the Mandalore to once again be part of the galaxy. It was time to move out of seclusion.

== Family History ==
House Ismay's founding and founders have been lost in the mists of time; however, the family traces it's lineage back thousands of years to the early years of the Old Republic. What is known is that the Ismays originated on [[Coruscant]] and gained the hereditary title of Count. More recently the family came to prominence under the leadership of [[Victor von Ismay XVI]]. Victor rose within the [[Galactic Empire]] to hold numerous high-ranking positions, including Bureau Chief of [[Imperial Intelligence]], Minister of Information, and [[Moff]] of the [[Corellian Sector]].

After the murder of Victor on Year 5 Day 331 the title of Count passed to his eldest son, [[Wilhelm von Ismay]]. Like his father Wilhelm had sat upon Imperial High Command during the reign of [[Greyson Uebles]], however he had stepped down after the Emperor's disappearance and become increasingly opposed to Emperor [[Vodo Bonias]]. Despite these private doubts Wilhelm's brothers [[Vlademar von Ismay|Vlademar]] and [[Owen von Ismay]] continued to hold high rank in the Galactic Empire.

In the last days of Year 5 Vlademar was rewarded with the Chancellorship of the New Anzat Order, a once independent government reduced to an Imperial protectorate. Wilhelm joined his younger brother there and urged him to break away from Imperial tutelage. Vlademar initially sought to establish independence. However under intense Imperial pressure he backtracked and Wilhelm was placed under arrest. However his supporters rebelled and assassinated Vlademar on Year 6 Day 155, leaving Wilhelm sole master of Anzat. Shortly afterwards Owen would publicly denounce Vodo Bonias' rule of the Galactic Empire and join his eldest brother.

These events would mark the remainder of Wilhelm's time as Count. Under his leadership House Ismay was closely associated with the New Anzat Order and persona non grata within the Galactic Empire's sphere of influence. A number of family members made their way to Anzat to join with their kin, most prominently the twins Sydney and [[Alexander von Ismay]].

Although initially ruling as Chancellor Wilhelm moved the New Anzat Order in an increasingly monarchical direction by proclaiming himself Regent. On Year 7 Day 225 he would step down in favor of his brother Owen. The succession would not last long though; Wilhelm wrested control back in Year 8 Day 55 after months of bitter dispute and a ruthlessly fought election. Having again secured his leadership of family and government Wilhelm would preside over the transformation of the New Anzat Order into the Anzatan Commonwealth and secure his own coronation as Sovereign.

Upon Wilhelm von Ismay's death, the family was briefly headed by Owen. However he soon retired from galactic affairs and leadership fell to his brother Alexander.

Initially serving as Minister of Culture in the Anzatan Commonwealth, Alexander would strike out on his own as prince of the [[Binaros Smuggling Alliance]] before joining the Black Sun where he would rise to Underlord and ruler. Increasingly erratic after abdicating and possibly infected by the Metamorphosis Plague Alexander would die of a Ryll overdose on Year 18 Day 43. As a result [[Sigmund von Ismay]] became head of House Ismay.

During the time of Victor, the comital title of House Ismay was verified by not just one Imperial sovereign, but three — [[Emperor]]s [[Charon]], [[Greyson Uebles]], and [[Vodo Bonias]]. While Wilhelm was head of the Household, he added first a baronial title (granted by the Falleen Crown) and gained the kingly title of Sovereign (through the Ismayic Anzatan Crown).

== Family Dynamics ==
The Ismay family is blood related with the [[Tylger family]]. [[Alex Tylger]] and [[Victor von Ismay]] both had the same mother, Xalil Zaarin Tylger, thus linking both great families as one. Over the generations, many people have married into the family, and some have divorced out of the family. A notable family that married into the Tylger side was the Ikron-Soyak family via the union of [[Tara Tylger]] and [[Navik Ikron]].

The Ismay family is not limited to the [[Human]] race. Viscountess [[Asarya`katr]] is half-human and half-[[Twi%27Lek|Twi'Lek]] and Baron Asmo von Ismay is Devaronian. They hold a simple majority vote on most issues directly concerning the House, including new pledged members and investigations into the genetic lineage of those claiming to be descended from the House. During Wilhelm's stewardship, the Council consisted of himself, Count Owen von Ismay, Countess Sydney von Ismay and Countess Asarya`katr von Ismay.

Persons claiming to be descended from the Ismay lineage has been a common factor in the last decade of the House's history, mostly considered on the 'upswing' due to Victor XVI's inability to maintain decorum in the presence of women as well as to the family's positions of power over the years.

Though many have claimed to be Victor's children or even married to various other persons in the family, most have remained virtually unknown and fade into further obscurity or simply relinquish claim to the House's lineage and birthright. One person that has continued to be a thorn in the side of the House and refused to do either is Memnon Gato.

Memnon von Ismay was a descendant of Victor XVI, his eldest son. However young Memnon was found dead at a young age, having passed during mysterious circumstances. The person now going by the name of Memnon Gato von Ismay frequently claims a grudge against the family, and Victor in particular even though long dead. Many times during his service in the Empire's Sith Fleet during Emperor Charon's reign, Memnon Gato was chastised and even arrested for plotting to assassinate Moff Victor von Ismay XVI. He is generally considered to be harmless, albeit mentally unstable. He is wanted for questioning in the death of the real Memnon von Ismay.

Having enjoyed a varied career as a military commander, intelligence officer, special forces operative, politician and businessman, he is currently believed to be working on his long delayed memoirs.

Having enlisted in the ranks of the Imperial Army in Year 4, Ismay saw combat in the [[Battle of Beta]] and rose swiftly. His Imperial career culminated with stints commanding Imperial Intelligence and the Imperial Army but both were marked by an ever worsening quarrel with Grand Moff [[Daelin Zerk]] and Emperor [[Vodo Bonias]].

After defecting from the Galactic Empire he collaborated closely with his half-brother [[Wilhelm von Ismay]] in ruling the New Anzat Order. Ongoing hostilities with Vodo Bonias and crippling economic difficulties in Anzat dominated this period of his life. Owen von Ismay briefly led the government only to be ousted by his brother early in Year 8 and go into self-exile.

Subsequently Ismay joined the New Republic where his most notable and notorious actions would take place. Although an ally of impeached Chief of State [[Ingo R. Vailis]] he did not openly participate in takeover of the New Republic and the subsequent rebirth of the Black Sun. Ismay instead became one of the first Shadows, a group of Black Sun deep cover agents intended to control the Republic from within.

Despite his divided loyalties Ismay became a powerful political figure within the Republic, securing election as Speaker of the Senate and pushing through a constitutional amendment. The peak of his influence came in Year 10 when he served as High Ambassador of the New Republic. Yet with triumph seemingly within his grasp, Ismay was unmasked and forced to flee.

Considered a hero by the Black Sun, he now openly joined the family. When [[Corvis Orion]] took the throne as Dark Prince, Ismay stood at his right hand as Prince Regent. The failure of his plans for the New Republic proved one defeat too many however. Ismay stepped down in Year 11 and vanished from public sight.

Having spent the better part of a decade wanted by the Galactic Empire he received a full pardon from Emperor [[Guinar Ndengin]] in Year 14.

==Biography==
===Youth===
Born on Corsin, Owen von Ismay was given up for adoption almost immediately after his birth. His father was Count Victor von Ismay XVI, a young and already married Coruscani playboy who would later become a senior official in the Galactic Empire. A standard background check on Victor carried out by Imperial Intelligence during his ascent to power would reveal he fathered a child with a Corsini woman named Kate Elden, but evidence suggested Victor was unaware of this. The background check, which revealed little of any real interest to those who had ordered it, was placed in the Imperial archives and promptly forgotten about.

The rest of the Owen von Ismay's early life passed largely without incident. At school he was intelligent but lacked motivation and a loner but not really unpopular. At home he was vaguely unhappy for reasons that eluded him. His adoptive family tried their best with little success, but resisted the temptation to inform Owen that he was not their natural son until he was eighteen. His response was scarcely positive; feeling betrayed and lied too, in a fit of teenage rage Owen declared he would never return. With minimal prospects and no real direction in his life, he choose to enlist in the Imperial Army, knowing it would at least get him away from Corsin. With a somewhat melodramatic touch he enlisted under the alias Raider Aspect, severing his ties to Corsin for good.

===Soldier===
The [[Galactic Empire]] though, was not the monolithic and stable entity portrayed in the COMPNOR propaganda that Raider Aspect was familiar with. Tension within Imperial High Command due to the merger between Emperor Charon's Galactic Empire and the Dark Empire of Lord Vodo Bonias had become violent. On the day of Aspect's enlistment, Emperor Charon fell under mysterious circumstances, being replaced by Executor [[Greyson Uebles]], an associate of Vodo Bonias. Those loyal to Charon defected in droves, stripping the Empire of personnel at every level.

Due to the lack of trainers, the Imperial Academy was temporarily shut down and Aspect assigned to the Imperial Army's Executive Officer, Colonel Locke, for training. When he performed well in the initial, disorganized training progamme put together by Locke, it was decided the half trained Recruit Aspect would be assigned to one of the Empire's now badly understrength Battalions, the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Assault Regiment. Major Alvaro served as Battalion Commanding Officer, while First Lieutenant [[Ral Hoffner]], who would soon return to the Navy was his first Battalion Executive Officer. But the member of the Battalion who would have the most profound effect on Aspect was one of the Company Commanders, Sergeant First Class [[Joshua Chamberlain]].

Despite his assignment to a Battalion, Aspect remained a Recruit for several months, during which two Army Chief of Staff came and went without him noticing. Only when the Imperial Army organised an interim Training Programme did he get the opportunity to advance. He became the first Recruit to take the test and achieved a perfect score. Due to this he was promoted directly to Sergeant. Mildly shocked to find a career that both inspired him and that he was good at, Raider Aspect threw himself into the Imperial Army. When he joined he had paid little attention to the Imperial Ideology and aspired to nothing more than getting off Corsin, yet a few months in, Aspect absorbed the beliefs and goals of the New Order with all the fervour of the newly converted. With the formation of the Army Staff, Aspect received the post of Army Operations Officer and promotion to Sergeant First Class; whilst less powerful than the title suggested it was nevertheless a large step.

Nevertheless, the Imperial Army, always the less favoured service, had been hit deeply by the [[Charonist]] defections. Just as it was beginning to recover Colonel Magnus Locke resigned, leaving the Army in turmoil as both his Executive Officer and the Army Command and Coordination Officer were on leave. Into the breach stepped Second Lieutenant Durand, architect of the Army Staff. Assuring a number of other soldiers that he was the senior member of the Army Staff and thus acting Army Chief of Staff, Durand took control. Glad to have someone who seemed to know what was going on, by now First Lieutenant Chamberlain and Aspect backed Durand, a decision that would later prove to be a wise career move. Aspect was given a brevet promotion to Second Lieutenant and to his continued amazement, technically served as acting Army Executive Officer for a period of about eighteen hours. Due to the confusion and constantly changing situation, Aspect also made a mistake that would come back to bite him; Durand informed Aspect he would be promoted to the same rank as Durand "Lieutenant". Believing Durand to be a First Lieutenant, he took on that rank instead of Second Lieutenant.

The actions of Durand, although practically amounting to a coup, were retrospectively approved by Grand Admiral Black Lodge as Durand was appointed Army Chief of Staff and promoted to Brigadier General. Following the reorganization of the Imperial Army, Aspect was rewarded with command of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Regiment, which he was instructed to turn into the Army's Special Forces unit. Liasing with Imperial Intelligence, he was instructed to work with Bureau Chief Wilhelm von Ismay. Contact with Wihelm introduced Aspect to the wider historical and political situation within the Galactic Empire and also stimulated a curiosity about intelligence agencies.

Aspect's promising career in the Army was nearly derailed when, hungover after drinking with a number of other officers he responded unpleasantly to a standard request by Captain Chamberlain. Although the pair sorted the issue out swiftly, the message nevertheless resulted in a court-martial of Aspect for Conduct Unbecoming an Officer. Furthermore the message brought to attention that he was claiming the rank of First Lieutenant, leading to an addition charge of Impersonating an Officer. On the question of conduct unbecoming, Aspect unsuccessfully argued that it was a private matter between brother officers. On the question of impersonating an officer though, while realizing his mistake, Aspect was too vain to admit to it. Losing his temper, Raider launched a strident attack on the Emperor's plan and also attempt to move against Major General Drakken. Seeing themselves as under external attack though, the rest of the Army's senior officers rallied around Drakken. Storming out of the meeting, Raider toyed with resigning, but ultimately stayed. Despite being nearly arrested for insubordination, no real action was taken against him.

Under the new organisation the Imperial Army was split into numerous small units and spread across different fleets and garrisons. Morale plummeted and resignations piled up.

As one of the numerous illegitimate offspring of Victor von Ismay, Owen has numerous half-siblings (some of them deceased), most notably Wilhelm, [[Asaryakatr|Asarya]] and [[Alexander von Ismay|Alexander]]. He remains on friendly terms with Asarya and most of his other half-siblings, although they are not close. With his eldest sibling, Wilhelm, Owen has ranged between near hero worship and absolute contempt. Wilhelm was the only one of his sibling who had known Owen before the discovery of his origins. The two fell out badly during Owen's Regency of the New Anzat Order, both feeling betrayed. It was nearly a year before Wilhelm attempted to reconcile with his younger brother. Despite Owen initial reservations about Wilhelm's sincerity the two rebuilt their friendship. The assassination of his brother in Year 10 was a heavy blow and Owen delivered the funeral oration.

To date he remains legally married to Caitiri Ja`Brai, a former President of Triton Dynamics and Cerebus Corporation and mother of his youngest children. However late in Year 10 she was abducted and imprisoned by agents of [[Keishi Miahr]] and her fate remains unknown. Owen continues to believe she is alive in the absence of evidence to the contrary.

Owen has five natural children. Raina von Ismay, his eldest, is the daughter of Owen's Twi`lek ex-wife Jarina. His second child, Aiden, is the son of former fiancee` Natalya Kriega. A long term relationship with Sasha Striker produced Lucas. His youngest children are the twins Lusira and Wilhelm II. During his Imperial career, Owen adopted Deana, the sixteen year old younger sister of an ex-girlfriend. As Director he revived the moribund agency but clashed with Emperor Vodo Bonias over resources and his desire for greater power within the Empire. Following the assasination of Grand Moff [[Kirov Quel-Droma]] by [[Jacen Boshuu]], a close friend of Ismay's, he symbolically offered his resignation as Director of Imperial Intelligence, only to be shocked when the Emperor accepted it.

The background check, which revealed little of any real interest to those who had ordered it, was placed in the Imperial archives and promptly forgotten about.

The rest of the Owen von Ismay's early life passed largely without incident. At school he was intelligent but lacked motivation and a loner but not really unpopular. At home he was vaguely unhappy for reasons that eluded him. His adoptive family tried their best with little success, but resisted the temptation to inform Owen that he was not their natural son until he was eighteen. His response was scarcely positive; feeling betrayed and lied too, in a fit of teenage rage Owen declared he would never return. With minimal prospects and no real direction in his life, he choose to enlist in the Imperial Army, knowing it would at least get him away from Corsin. With a somewhat melodramatic touch he enlisted under the alias Raider Aspect, severing his ties to Corsin for good.

Tension within Imperial High Command due to the merger between Emperor Charon's Galactic Empire and the Dark Empire of Lord Vodo Bonias had become violent. On the day of Aspect's enlistment, Emperor Charon fell under mysterious circumstances, being replaced by Executor [[Greyson Uebles]], an associate of Vodo Bonias. Those loyal to Charon defected in droves, stripping the Empire of personnel at every level.

Due to the lack of trainers, the Imperial Academy was temporarily shut down and Aspect assigned to the Imperial Army's Executive Officer, Colonel Locke, for training. When he performed well in the initial, disorganized training progamme put together by Locke, it was decided the half trained Recruit Aspect would be assigned to one of the Empire's now badly understrength Battalions, the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Assault Regiment. Major Alvaro served as Battalion Commanding Officer, while First Lieutenant [[Ral Hoffner]], who would soon return to the Navy was his first Battalion Executive Officer. But the member of the Battalion who would have the most profound effect on Aspect was one of the Company Commanders, Sergeant First Class [[Joshua Chamberlain]].

Despite being nearly arrested for insubordination, no real action was taken against him.

As one of the numerous illegitimate offspring of Victor von Ismay, Owen has numerous half-siblings (some of them deceased), most notably Wilhelm and [[Asaryakatr|Asarya]]. He remains on friendly terms with Asarya and most of his other half-siblings, although they are not close. With his eldest sibling, Wilhelm, Owen has ranged between near hero worship and absolute contempt. Wilhelm was the only one of his sibling who had known Owen before the discovery of his origins. The two fell out badly during Owen's Regency of the New Anzat Order, both feeling betrayed. It was nearly a year before Wilhelm attempted to reconcile with his younger brother. Despite Owen initial reservations about Wilhelm's sincerity, the two are once again became friends. The process was aided by Wilhelm's relationship with and subsequent marriage to [[Keishi Miahr]], a friend of Owen's; he served as best man at the wedding.

Presently he is married to Caitiri Ja`Brai, a former President of Triton Dynamics and Cerebus Corporation. Owen has three children from his previous relationships and two on the way. Raina von Ismay, his eldest child, is the daughter of Owen's Twi`lek ex-wife Jarina. His second child, Aiden, is the son of former fiancee` Natalya Kriega. A long term relationship with Sasha Striker produced his youngest, Lucas. During his Imperial carrer, Owen adopted Deana, the sixteen year old younger sister of an ex-girlfriend. This was initially for purely legal reasons, to provide her with a legal guardian, but he latter developed a paternal relationship with Deana and was deeply hurt by her death.

Born on Corsin, Owen von Ismay was given up for adoption almost immediately after his birth. At 18 he enlisted in the Imperial Army under the name Raider Aspect, coincidently joining on the same day as Emperor [[Charon]] fell and was replaced by [[Greyson Uebles]]. Finding opportunities in the then-depleted ranks of the Imperial Military, he became a favourite of Brigadier General [[Durand]], the Army's Commander. During the [[Battle of Beta]] Aspect took part in Operation Cover of Darkness, earning a fistful of medals. Despite losing his patron after Durand's resignation and coming close to serious disciplinary sanction he rose to the post of Imperial Army Executive Officer in record time. After transferring to Imperial Intelligence in the wake of the death of [[Victor von Ismay]], Aspect pieced together his heritage, discovering the murdered Imperial Moff was his father. As Director he revived the moribund agency but clashed with Emperor Vodo Bonias over resources and his desire for greater power within the Empire.
