The '''Fountain of the Ancients''', located in the Derelkoos Desert on [[Klatooine]], is a natural formation that grows more beautiful with time. Formed in a depression, the Fountain leaks liquid wintrium from a rift in Klatooine's crust. Once cooled by the desert wind, a process taking around 10,000 years, the wintrium will continue to add and build into a glass sculpture that is of semblance to water sprung from a fountain but that is frozen in time.

The time-enduring traits, and the slow but steady process by which the Fountain builds itself, have caused the Klatooinians to place great importance on patience, tradition and tenacity; they have a great respect for all things aged. The Fountain is sometimes called the Fountain of Hutt Ancients by Klatooinians in reverence for their Hutt masters who were likened to the Ancients for their long life. Such deference is rare from the younger generations, who resent the Hutt rule.

The Fountain and the area surrounding it are firmly established as a holy place and used as the center of politics by the ruling Council of Elders who reside in a palace near the Fountain. All of the buildings within one kilometer of the Fountain are maintained in their traditional elements and are devoid of modern technology, which is prohibited as a sign of honor for the Ancients.

The Fountain of the Ancients is quite beautiful and attracts many visitors from across the galaxy. The gleam from the pinnacle of the sculpture can be seen from afar, as a beacon for all to come and see a testament to persistence.

Those who would like to visit the monument could set their course to the Gateway located in space at (3, 2) in the Si`Klaata Cluster star system. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn much more about the importance of this Fountain.

The '''B`omarr Monastery''' was a large facility located at the edge of the Northern Dune Seas of [[Tatooine]] erected originally by the B`omarr monks. Its subterranean design and its remoteness where designed intentionally to keep the monks separate from distraction and civilization or any other external influences, which was essential for their mystical studies of the way to enlightenment.

The palace, initially quite small, was rebuilt and expanded over the centuries, and also modified by some of its owners, mostly criminals, that abused it as stronghold against the [[Tusken Raiders|Sand People]] or base of operations. As such many of the dungeons below the palace itself were used as prison cells, in which quite a number of the tortured prisoners died horrible deaths. Moreover there was room for the keeping of beasts and a fully equipped hangar.

Today, the palace is back in the hands of the Monks, who continue to pursue their ultimate goal in separating them ultimately. That highest goal is achieved by distracting the body from their brain, placing the second into nutrient jar and continue to meditate without anything, but the most necessary, the brain. However it remains to be seen as to whether the Monks will retain control of the monastery.

It is possible to visit the monastery and talk to the monks there. Some people have also obtained a nice souvenir from their visit.

The '''Abandoned Research Installation''' is a derelict [[space station]] located within [[The Maw]]. The installation is rumored to have once served as [[Emperor]] [[Drayson]]'s super-weapon research facility. It is unclear why it was abandoned. Despite its precarious location, the site has become a popular tourist attraction over the years for adventurers who wish to see this wonder up close and personal.

==Description==
Built within [[the Maw]], an unstable cluster of [[Black_hole|black holes]], the mysterious Maw Research Installation was recently rediscovered following a glitch in the navcomputer of a passing freighter. After its location was made public, many scientific studies were commissioned in attempts to unlock the Installation's secrets and return it to full working order. It has been confirmed that the Installation was built using mechanically hollowed asteroids grouped together and located in a small pocket of stable gravity within a cluster of black holes in the Kessel sector, commonly referred to as the Maw. Due to the crushing gravity, dangerous radiation levels and other life-threatening hazards associated with black holes, solid facts of the Installation's history are few and far between as nothing stationary could survive within The Maw if not located at the Installation's precise position.

From a technical point of view, the Installation can be defined as a work of engineering art. Its location is at the exact coordinates where a gravitational equilibrium is created, with each black hole of the Maw exerting their omni-present pull in a different direction, thus nullifying any gravitational acceleration. Within this "gravitational island" a number of asteroids survived the persistent pull of the black holes, and perhaps are remnants of larger solid masses torn apart during the creation of the Maw itself. The hollowed-out asteroids that create the foundations of the installation house living quarters, laboratories, garages, assembly bays, meeting halls and other facilities of unidentified use. The asteroid bodies are also connected using dual skinned transit rails and access tubes, allowing quick transport of research materials and personnel around the Installation. The layout of the facilities and machinery found within the station strongly suggest that it was originally intended to be used as a high tech research installation. It is unclear what research was performed here, but given the size and sophistication of the laboratories and manufacturing equipment that remain, it could have been virtually anything a scientific mind could imagine.

Even mythical stories have now been linked the installation, alluding to ancient and powerful races building the Installation after they themselves created The Maw. As yet, no conclusive records have been found though, nor have any groups come forward with categorical evidence to prove ownership of their long lost station.

After comprehensive searches of the installation by some of the galaxy's top engineers, no defensive weapon systems have been found anywhere on the facility. This has therefore thrown extra confusion into the discussions of who built and used the research station. Theories support that the installation was originally designed for peaceful civilian research of the surrounding black hole clusters, therefore needing no defensive measures. An alternative is that the installation's creators were confident that the complex pathways through the black holes were all the defense they would require in keeping attackers at bay.
