The '''Hapan Hawks''' are a [[Galactic Shockball League]] team playing in the Core Worlds Conference in the Inner Rim Division. [[Shockball]] is one of the most popular sports in the Hapes Consortium.

=History=
The team was formed in 4037 when the [[Hapes Consortium]] bought an open spot in the CSL ([[Colonial Shockball League]]). The CSL was looking to expand and [[Alex Tylger|King Tylger]] saw the opportunity to bring shockball to the consortium in a big way. For years Hapes had been running its own league, the [[Hapan Shockball League]] (HSL) and it was decided to enter a team into the galaxy wide league. The best players from the HSL were put together to form the Hapan Hawks. The Hapan Hawks began playing in Season Four of the Colonial Shockball League as a part of the Core Worlds Conference.

After years of dormancy and no galaxy wide Shockball League, Alpha Medical Corporation began a revival of the [[Galactic Shockball League]] (GSL), announcing the reformation on Year 26 Day 310. [[Xesh Randell]] reformed the Hapan Hawks and quickly began tryouts for the new team to participate in the GSL. On Year 26 Day 333, Xesh approached [[Cresno Riltar]] to serve as the team's Manager.

=The Stadium=
The Hapan Hawks' Stadium is located on [[Hapes Prime]] and is known by its fans as "The Nest". It is a fantastic place to be. The facilities include four full sized restaurants, fifty suites, a full double-sided sized holoscreen, and several offices where the [[HNN]] broadcasts the game.

The Hapan Hawks' Stadium was upgraded from the basic Stadium design that holds 20,000 to the premier Stadium that it is today. It now houses 50,000 Hapans and broadcasts to hundreds of billions more who watch in their own homes.

Ever since the Hapes Consortium built the stadium, every game has been sold out. The Hapes Consortium is considering to add onto the stadium again to allow more Hapan Hawk fans to attend the games.

=In the Community=
To show thanks to the community and gain support, the Hawks go out on trips throughout the [[Hapan]] worlds. Usually playing exhibition games in a 5 on 5 format, the exhibition games are very popular. Each year the team that wins the [[HSL|Hapan Shockball League]] plays the Hawks in a game held in a different system each year. The event is a fan favorite and the game is sold out nearly a year in advance. All profits from the game goes to a charity from the local system.

Kahlan is the youngest of 4 siblings; she has 1 sister, Nikki, and 2 brothers Kyle and Ian. Sadly her mother died giving birth to her.

Kahlan and her siblings were raised by their father Dexter.

Kahlan grew up on Corellia watching and detesting the Empire's actions, knowing that no matter how much they said they were there for our protection their action put it all to a lie.
Always considered a tom-boy because she would have no qualms about getting down and dirty or getting into a fight protecting those smaller or weaker than her from the bullies.
From an early age Kahlan had a love for flying, on a number of occasions’ her father would take her to work at CORSEC and taught her how to be a pilot, and a few repairs when needed.
When she was 10 both of her brothers were conscripted into the Imperial army.
At age 16 Kahlan watched as her father was taken into Imperial custody, he was tried and convicted of a murder he did not commit. Although she knows the chances of finding and seeing her father again is slim she still hold onto the hope that one day she will.

Kahlan's first experience away from Corellia was with the Freedom Warriors, under the command of Wuma Uxal-Lumir.
There she learned the concepts of team work on the frozen planet of Elrood. It was there she also give her first responsibility as a squadron leader. While it was a happy time for her it was short lived. A year later she found herself adrift and looking for a new home. That home would be found with the Falleen Federation. It did not take long as she quickly found herself busy producing ships for the Falleen Naval contracts.

'''Hapans''' are an isolationist [[human]]oid species from the [[Hapes Cluster|Hapes star cluster]], who are well known for both their wealth and their strong defense of its borders. Hapan mores and values were shaped by a matriarchal society for over 4000 years, and only recently have begun to change. Although Hapans are humanoid, they differ from other human races in two major ways: their almost universal physical beauty and a form of genetic night blindness.

Hapans are very nature loving and aware of their surroundings. Unlike many civilizations the Hapans have always built around and with the nature on their planet, putting lots of time and energy in to the caring of their plants, forests and natural surroundings. Next to the very honourable jobs such as in the military and government are the jobs that take care of their great gardens. Honour and pride are also a very large part of Hapan society. This has proven to be one of the backbones in Hapan culture that has been a solid building stone for both the civilian side of life as well as the military. Although the Hapans are peaceful, they hold a very powerful military. Of course honor also puts a large support on the Hapan monarchy.

The native language of the Hapans was Hapan. The Hapan language developed over the years due to isolation from the rest of the Galaxy, and was spoken throughout the Consortium. ==Society==
The Hapans were ruled by the Queen Mother from Fountain Palace as part of the Hapes Consortium. The title of Queen Mother was hereditary, passed down from mother to daughter. If the Queen Mother failed to have daughters, the wife of the firstborn son became Queen Mother. However, to be in the line of succession meant both the Queen Mother and her heirs had to avoid constant attempts on their lives by jealous relatives who vied for the throne themselves.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

In addition to the Queen Mother, there were also representatives from each Consortium member planet at the Royal Court. Their main purpose was to vote on matters of importance and to give updates on the political and social conditions of their home planets that may require the Queen Mother's attention. The Queen Mother had the final say on everything, and her word was considered law.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

The Hapan Navy consisted of at least sixty-three Hapan Battle Dragons, one for each member world, and were usually backed up by X-wings, Hapes Nova Battle Cruisers, and Miy'til starfighters.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

The main functions of the Hapan Navy were to keep outsiders from entering the Hapes Consortium and to defend the Consortium in times of war. Any unauthorized persons who attempted to enter the Consortium without permission were dealt with in a swift and brutal manner. Other functions of the Navy were as escorts of the royal family when they left Hapes, and for flushing pirates out of the Transitory Mists.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

There were also ground-based military units, such as members of the royal guard. Members of the royal guard wore red, and were usually handpicked for their posts. It was considered a great honor to serve the royal family, and people who did were accorded much respect among the populace.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

Amonst this governing body also sat the Hapan Dragoons. A extention of the hand of the Queen mother, a royal guard army for protection of the Queen who held law above all those before the Queen Mother.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

Hapan culture, at least among the upper classes, was based on assassination attempts and struggles for power. Most upper class Hapans would think nothing of arranging the death of one of their own if it would advance their own cause. Ta'a Chume had demonstrated this principle numerous times when she had arranged for the deaths of her elder son, her younger son's fiancé, and her daughter-in-law, and attempted to have her granddaughter and great-granddaughter killed. In addition, there was a class based system within Hapan society. Among the royal family of Hapes, its members did not treat their servants well with women being accorded greater respect than men, industrialists afforded more respect than farmers and finally royalty being given the most respect to all. Thus, the concept of treating one of lower status as an equal was something that was quite foreign to their way of thinking.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

The Queen Mother was treated like a goddess by the Hapans, and her selection of a consort was important to all her people. Candidates for the role of consort often came from the nobility, mainly to keep the gene pool vibrant. There were fierce rivalries between many noble houses over which house would get their sons to father the next Queen Mother, and nobles often plotted against both the consort and the heir of the Queen Mother who was not fathered by one of their own.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

Due to the matriarchal society of the Hapes Consortium, men were often treated as second class citizens. Although most Hapan males were used mainly for breeding, some held positions of power, although their ability to use it was limited. Some Hapan men who felt trapped by their position in society often ran away and became pirates. These men hid out in the Transitory Mists and preyed on unsuspecting vessels, at least until caught by passing Nova Battle Cruisers. When captured, they would be put on trial, and possibly executed depending on how severe the charge was.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

Anti-Jedi sentiment was rife among the Hapans, mainly due to the fact that the Lorell Raiders had fallen to the Jedi.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

The Hapan people had a deep (some would say neurotically so) love of beauty. If a person, especially the heir to the throne, was blemished or deformed in any way, it was considered a fate worse than death.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

== History==
Hapans are descendants from a group of pirates called the Lorell Raiders that originally settled [[Hapes]]. The pirates barbaric practice included pillaging nearby systems. They were wiped out by Jedi Knights when they started making raids into Old Republic supply centers. The survivors, mostly women, swore never to let a man run the government following this defeat. All power in a hereditary monarch to be known as the Queen Mother, and men assumed a subservient role, with little voice in politics or business.

The Lorell Raiders, along with any other treasure they would plunder, would abduct beautiful Human women from all over the Galaxy and bring them back to Hapes. The women would stay on Hapes and raise their children. The Lorell Raiders would take boys and make the raids only to return to Hapes to rest.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

After the mostly male Lorell Raiders were wiped out, Hapes was forgotten. Around 3,100 BBY, a Queen Mother sealed the borders to the newly created Hapes Consortium from the rest of the Galaxy, ordered the starship Star Home to be constructed, and quickly captured many more planets for the Hapans to colonize. Information on Hapan history afterwards was very hard to come by, but what was found was that sometime in the distant past, several members of the Hapes Consortium tried to secede from the influence of Hapes, but were quickly crushed. Those worlds became known as the Rifle Worlds, and eventually they became the commerce base of the Consortium.<ref name="SW Wikia" />

For many generations, the [[Hapes Consortium]] advocated isolation from the rest of the galaxy.

==Prologue==

Crispin (of the Sygnus tribe) was born on Toola before the years before the Clone wars. Like his brothers, Crispin followed his father to hunt prey (especially the prized Motmot) in order to feed their Nomadic Tribe. He went with his father to meet at the hot springs to trade and assist fellow tribes in the hunts.For decades, Crispin lived like this until he met off-world explorers lost in the jungle.

The downed Wayfarer, hadIt took the help of a translator droid but finally Crispin was able to get them primitive medical help from his tribe. The explorers stayed for days learning about the tribe and other nearby clans. Then their slave ship came. Crispin and his tribe were captured and enslaved. Beaten and forced to serve their new masters, they were taken in all directions.

Throughout the Clone wars, he struggled to survive on his new found home on Nar Shadda. His family died off one by one, whether by disease, torture, a dangerous mission or worse. Finally his brother Zao died in Crispin's arms after failing to complete a drug delivery. As the pirate laughed at his two slaves, something in Crispin broke and he unleashed all fury on the pirate and killed him.

He knew he had to run, he had learned Galactic Basic during his slavery and how to pilot a ship. Crispin managed to enter and win a death match against a bounty hunter and stabbed the hunter with his blades, effectively killing him. He left the Smuggler's moon, with one goal in mind: He would rebuild his tribe and honor his Father's Memory. That day he proclaimed himself, his clan's "Spear Master" or leader.

With this goal in mind he set out, he will make a new home and a new family..... or die trying.

A young [[hapan]] male in mid twenties. His appearance is unremarkable in many aspects, however his long dark purple hair draws attention, as do his intense purple eyes that betray a lifetime of experience beyond his age.

==Short Biography==
Xesh was born on [[Terephon]] and has left the [[Hapes Cluster]] at seventeen to explore the Galaxy. During that time he has met many people, participated in semi-professional swoop and pod racing, was noticed by and recruited into a small time swoop gang "Speed Brothers". In that gang he learned quite a bit about electronics and has adopted some "social" skills. There he also became experienced at leading a small group of people, as well as at creating and using basic weaponry.

Ultimately though that was not how Xesh wanted to spend the rest of his life, so he left the gang and attempted to make a clean living through exploration of the wild space and unknown regions, but was unsuccessful in finding any new systems or routes.

Mostly broke he made his way back to the Cluster intent on putting the days of wild youth behind him, and enlisted in [[Royal Hapan Armed Forces]]. He served three tours in the 2nd Fleet of the [[Royal Hapan Navy]], and during that time he rose to the rank of [[Royal_Hapan_Armed_Forces_Ranks|Sub Lieutenant]] and received a Letter of Commendation as well as a Letter of Technical Achievement.

He also served as an Ombudsman of the Hapes Consortium for six months. On request from His Majesty King [[Zayth Kadrim]] Randell mustered out of the Navy and joined the Ministry of the Interior, wherein he served in various capacity under Fel'ta [[Kal Djin]]. After the Deputy Minister Djin stepped down, Xesh was asked to step up and fill the opened position. During that time he helped develop the new curriculum for the new Hapan academy and was later rewarded with a Star Home Academy ribbon.

On Y16 D116 Randell was promoted to Minister and awarded the Gold Medal of Service and the Golden Wings.

Since we restricted editing to those who are in the members group in order to combat spam, we've had a decline in contributions (or so it seems at least.) I think this probably relates to people not understanding that they need to be manually moved to the correct user group after registering. (There was a question about this in the SWC Questions Center recently.)

Perhaps we should set up a page somewhere on the HoloCron, and visibly link to it from the Main Page and/or Community Portal (and possibly other places where it would be useful) with a list of users who are able to change the status of newly registered members to the proper setting. == OOC Terminology in 'legal documents' or sources ==

A few days ago [[User:Rupert Havok|Rupert Havok]] replaced OOC terminology in [[Mindabaal League Charter]], which from what I gather is just a copy and paste of the constitution-like document of an alliance of factions. My question is should we replace OOC terminology in source material? Would we not thus 'falsify' such documents?

I think that a boilerplate message or a footnote indicating that this document may use different terminology and by a word "faction" may mean an "organization"... or something along those lines would be more appropriate.

::I tend to agree with Rupert here because I feel that if we do not set a certain standard now, we open for more issues of this kind down the road that would require arbitrary consideration of all new articles with this problem. The term "faction" is OOC in some manners, but I don't see it being excluded entirely from proper IC articles. For example, an article describing a civil war of some sort might very well refer to factions, but you guys know all that. In terms of the article in question, I can't really say for sure what is most appropriate. On one hand, editing the document from its original form means it is not really an accurate representation of how it was originally written and that spoils it. On the other hand, I am not sure that a document that was written in an OOC manner should be allowed on here, regardless of its overall IC significance. Then again, is the usage of the term faction in the article really so inappropriate? I see a few options. 1 - Add a header to the article stating the content has been revised from the source material for the sake of IC purposes; 2 - Contact the owners of the document and ask if they'd consider changing it so it might warrant inclusion on the Holocron. 3 - Make some sort of distinction - such as brackets - in the text to reflect what has been edited from the source content. :I do like this solution, although to me personally the issue still stands as of if source materials/gns posts really warrant to be copied to the Holocron 1:1 as "real" articles, as they obviously don't meet an encyclopedic standard and are a primary source that shouldn't even be referred to at all times. As suggested in the old discussion something like wikisource would be needed to make clear that that's not how an article is supposed to look (lack of Intro sentence, no explanations etc.) and as already stated in the old discussion this is not a good idea considering it would split up our limited editing power even more, henceforth the suggestion of a seperate namespace to make it clear they are not "real" articles. ::I am 100% with Xesh on this. I have seen tons of material disappear from faction servers, even from the SWC server itself. So using this wiki as a repository is a good idea in itself. The boiler plate would be a great way to keep main articles IC, yet make it easy for people to find the original material in a separate namespace. As I am a historian IRL you can possibly guess that it almost physically pains we to change as much as a typo in any source, yet all texts - including Holocron articles - have a specific audience and intention, and this rather requires a moderate and careful rewrite. I am glad that so many people are concerned about this, aware of the problem and willing to work on a soluton that tries to be true to the source and the intention of the Holocron. I have to say that I am also a lot more relaxed about the whole matter now than I was a year ago. I take a look at many, many edits in this wiki. I see how people change names of ships, NPCs etc in articles, for example because they decided it would be more fun to have their IC mother named "Lara" than "Sandi" (or vice verse). So replacing "faction" with something more IC in a source document - when done carefully - is by now way down on my list of concerns when it coems to historical consistency of our universe as depicted in the Holocron. We will never be able to police all those edits, even if we wanted to. We can ask people to be reasonable. But we have to keep in mind that our main focus is story telling and giving orientation, not factual information as a "normal" encyclopedia. Yes, we also try to record and sometimes write the history of the universe we play in and this calls for some good practice, just as for a real life historian, but we will not be able to train those standards into all our users and editors and it will sometimes be at odds with the purpose of story telling. I've made a conditional variant of infobox race. Please have a look at it and let me know what you think. 
The template can be found at [[Template:Infobox_Race/v2]], and I've switched infobox on [[Hapan]] page to showcase it. Basically what it does now is omit any field without information. 
I'm not really happy with how the known members work, but for now left it mostly intact.

This was already discussed earlier this year on [[Talk:Holocron:ToDo#Different_Ship_Templates]], but I guess not everyone has seen it. We currently have '''FIVE''' templates for ships: {{tl|Infobox ship}}, {{tl|Infobox Ship}}, {{tl|Starfighter-Current}}, {{tl|Freighter-Current}}, and {{tl|Special-Ship}}! First FOUR are (almost) identical! 
It was agreed that we should use one. [[User:Rupert Havok]] created the latest ({{tl|Infobox Ship}}) and attempted to unify everything in one template. I have further modified the template adding a few fields and making it conditional, i.e. if fields are left empty they will not show on the page that uses template. Please review my modifications - {{tl|Infobox Ship/v2}}, before they are implemented in the main template. Example Infobox can be seen in [[Pulsar Battle Cruiser]] article. 
Further modification I've considered, but did not implement at this time - displaying amount of escape pods, medical room and various other characteristics like hangar/docking bay, repulsor etc. 
Once changes are reviewed and further modifications are implemented and tested, I would like to ask Rupert, who may or may not use special bot script to replace other templates in all ship pages. Do "we" want to setup a special page for discussing article and file deletion suggestions? 
At the moment many deletion suggestions do not provide any reason at all, and getting involved in discussion of deletion is somewhat complicated with admin and whoever wants to get involved needing to discuss it on the talk page of each article/file. Maybe having a centralized location would allow for better visibility and participation.

It seems Infinite Empire is doing stub profiles of their people and adding recruitment links to them. Here are some of the examples:

:My first impulse was to agree, but I actually find it quite clever, how it makes the Holocron interact with Darkness. Maybe we should even use this more. But then it should become a standard that is applied to all people, facions and possibly other objects. Why not work it into the character and faction template? I would not see any fault with a last section (maybe even witha button appearance) that say either "Contact [character]" or "Join [faction]". It would make the Holocron more interactive and better integrated with Darkness.
