==Clan Overview==
Aliit K’yltek, led by Zachill DeSol, is a Mandalorian clan of hunters and beast tamers. Typically this means hunters of beasts alone, though the clan has been known to accept those who enjoy the hunting of bandits (both terrestrial and space) into their numbers. In addition to beasts and bandits, significant time is given for any member to join the bounty hunter’s guild and seek fame and fortune rescuing the unlucky hostage and executing those who would prey on the weak.

Hunting beasts is done with a goal of protecting populaces from larger, more dangerous predators, thinning herds of creatures that have few natural predators, and for food for the hunter and others in population centres, rather than the simple indiscriminate slaughter of any creature that happens to come across the hunter’s path. The hunter uses every bit of each animal culled and occasionally collects trophies.

In addition to hunting beasts, clan members are encouraged to domesticate creatures they find in nests of the creatures they cull. Eggs of creatures that meet fateful ends are highly prized and the raising and domestication of these creatures is seen as a moral imperative. Hunters are known to frequent ranches and other locations where raising creatures from infancy is done, and a few have gone so far as to acquire Ithorian Herdships to be able to have a way to domesticate their foundlings while traveling.

To join as a full member of Aliit K’yltek, one must fight alone in single combat, toe-to-toe against a creature of average size or above and defeat it. Often doing so earns the applicant a moniker associated with the creature in question. It is not uncommon for applicants to be defeated in such combats and have to re-do the combat test after sufficient time healing is done. Once accepted into the clan, each member receives a clan weapon and has the full rights and voice as any other member.

The current head of Aliit K’yltek is Zachill DeSol, who became leader of the clan in Y22, D355 when leadership was transferred from his former mentor, Remus-Qui Wraan. As DeSol became leader the clan entered a phase of renewal and changes were instituted that significantly broadened the membership of the clan.

==Clan History==
The clan's founder, Ashen K'yltek Tra'esk, was one of the original colonists that survived the crash. He was a member of the original Opy're clan and migrated into the southern mountains of Mandalore. He and a small group of about 100 settlers then split and settled in the large, densely wooded Q'apla valley. The valley was full of trees, and a small river ran straight through the middle. A deforested area on the south side of the river is where the town first appeared, which would later grow into a small city. After the split, the 100 settlers formed a new clan, taking the name of the founder as the clan name. With the help of the great warrior and leader Ashen, they quickly adapted to their new environment, using his military skill to become expert trackers and hunters, as they had to chase down the untamed beasts that inhabited the forests for food.

The earliest clan members of the original survivors were medium height, dark-haired humans, having jet-black or dark brown hair which was worn short for both males and females, and eye color was typically grey, with the occasional blue or green, but never brown, being most common. Nearly all clan members were of an athletic build. Non-human species were rarely included in the clan until Mandalore became the one of the galactic governments responsible for ruling planets such as Honoghr, Cathar Prime, and Visnoth. Some of the earliest non-humans integrated into clan life were the Noghri, who are known for being exceptional trackers and hunters because of their innate sense of smell.

===Council of Elders===
Early in the clan’s history it was ruled by a council of elders. Gent K’yltek headed the family Tra'esk, known for its sharpshooters and family games related to precision and perception; N’tam K’yltek headed the Ry'yak family, known for members able to slip the jaws of death my mere inches and who had yearly games to see who could dodge the most thrown projectiles in a race to ring a bell at the end of an obstacle course; Ryan K’yltek headed the Shug'ar family, who prided themselves on being the physically strongest members of the clan and held yearly family competitions of feats of strength; and Jeruk K’yltek headed the Il'daq family, who were master swordsmen and women and held yearly family games centered around all things related to blades. These four families most recently formed the council which advised Gent K'yltek in most, if not all of his decisions. Several smaller, lesser-known families, were additionally part of the clan but were not large enough to serve on the council. After a restructuring, the clan’s council was dissolved and rule in recent years has been more democratic in nature.

===Clan Combat and Tournament===
During the early years of the clan every member of the K'yltek clan was compelled to learn and practice a form of unarmed combat which was characteristic of the clan and considered its totem. It consisted of a series of rapid palm heel strikes and kicks. Every 10 years, the council held a martial tournament, known as the 'Tournament of Ashen' in remembrance of their founder. The only style allowed was this nameless form of combat. Everyone between the age of 15 and 20 was compelled to compete. The winner received no material trophy, only the respect of the rest of the clan, and recognition by the council.

In addition to the tournament that was held every ten years, a yearly contest was held. Of clan members who stayed in the valley with the rest, the most respected and feared group were the hunters. Every year, the huntmaster and his five other huntsmen ventured into the forest with no more than a vibroblade each. They stayed out for no more than one week, and their goal was to hunt and kill 500 pounds of edible meat, not including bones or any other inedible part. When (if) they succeeded in their goal, they packed all the edible material and straped it onto their backs. Each huntsman carried 100 pounds, and the huntmaster carried nothing and treked back to the city. Then a great feast and festival ensued, with dancing, music, and eating to which EVERYONE attended. If they didn't succeed in killing the 500 pounds of meat, the huntmaster impaled himself on a stake in front of the city in shame. The next oldest of the huntsmen then became the huntmaster, and the remaining hunters then chose another of the clansmen to fill the slot. Being a huntsman was the most respected position in the clan (other than the council), and the huntmaster's death if he failed was the price to pay for this honor.

Since the council’s dissolution, the “Tournament of Ashen” and yearly hunt ceased, being replaced with various named hunts open to all Mandalorians. Honor is typically bestowed upon the top two or three most impressive huntsmen and along with such honor it is not uncommon for material awards to be gifted as well.

==Clan Demographics and Membership==
Along with changes to the clan structure, the clan demographics have changed significantly since it was first founded. Today the clan is composed of multiple races from across the galaxy but very few humans. Noghri make up a significant number of trained soldiers in the clan, and unlike in the past, the heads of the current families are almost all non-human species.

Adoption into the clan via one of these families is now the foremost method for becoming a clan member, and once adopted, members are considered a part of the family, but hold a lesser status and are unable to vote in clan elections or to adopt foundlings on their own, which is reserved for full members. Becoming a full member of the clan and being able to adopt into one’s family requires the aforementioned successful solo hunt against a formidable creature and a bestowing of the clan weapon on the successful hunter.

==Clan Traits==
Due to the focus of the clan, clan members tend to be more adept at physical and social skills followed by skills in space piloting and combat; science skills and research tend to fall very low in the typical clan member’s set of abilities and are rarely trained. To be an excellent hunter, all clan members are encouraged to develop their skills to have an above-average base dexterity, as well as above average abilities in one of the following: ranged combat, martial combat, or dodge.

==Clan Totem==
The clan no longer has a specific totem recognizing the Ashen K'yltek Tra'esk. Instead, the clan has adopted a clan-specific symbol and weapon, an eight-bladed chakram or shuirken, thrown weapons used for hunting. The chakram symbolizes the clan well, with it’s multiple blades joined to a solid center, just as each clan member is razor-sharp and joined to the solid base of the clan. Some hold that the eight blades are also symbolic of the seven largest aggressive creatures that are known in the galaxy: Acklay, Cy’een, Diagona, Draigon, Rancor, Rathtar, and Krayt Dragon, and the presumed extinct Mythosaur.

[[File:Kyltek-symbol.png]]

Upon successfully becoming a member of Aliit K’yltek, each clan member is given a custom chakram containing the elements for the clan’s symbol for honor interspersed between the Mandalorian scripts of the clan’s name along with the words: ''ijaat'' (honor) and ''mirshko'' (courage).

==Clan History==

==Clan Demographics and Membership==

==Clan Traits==

==Clan Totem==

==Clan Overview==
Aliit K’yltek is the clan of hunters and beast tamers.
