Cal-Wan Voidrunner is a Naval officer in the New Republic Armed Forces. He is also the current Associate Minister of Justice, public leader of the New Republic's judicial branch.

Early Life & Gaming Career
Little is known regarding Cal-Wan's adolescent years. Born as an abandoned orphan on the Nautolan homeworld, Glee Anselm, Cal grew up under the care and tutelage of N'amila Voidrunner. N'amila was the leader of a rough-and-tumble band of misfits on Glee Anselm, known as The Voidrunners, named after her original family. The Voidrunners were the only family Cal ever knew, which is why he chose it as his own last name. The Voidrunners engaged in multiple entrepreneurial endeavors, but their most profitable was a well-known underground Sabacc hall.
Cal had become manager, and top player, of the Sabacc hall by the age of sixteen due to his cunning personality and near-photographic memory. With Sabacc practically mastered, Cal began to play other games as well; primarily holochess. After a year of study and mental exercise, Cal-Wan quickly earned renown as a holochess prodigy with an officially sanctioned record of 914 wins, 177 draws, and 0 losses.
At some point during his early life, Cal-Wan became incredibly close with a young Duros named Zoosk Seafire, and the two now refer to themselves as adopted brothers. They currently run a small shipyard together under the name "Voidfire Enterprises."
New Republic Military Service
At the age of 20, Cal-Wan left the Voidrunners in search of a way to have a positive impact on the galaxy. His search led him to Rodia, where he soon-after decided to enlist in the New Republic Armed Forces and fight to preserve freedom and justice at home and abroad. Naval command perfectly suited Cal's strengths, and he has even compared naval battles to holochess matches on more than one occasion. Cal-Wan graduated from the Academy with full marks, and he has now served as a Naval Officer for roughly one year. He currently holds the rank of Naval Captain.
Legal Career
Not long after his graduation, Cal-Wan was hired by the New Republic Department of Justice as a public defender. Whenever Cal's fleet rotated back into Republic territory, he would represent clients in criminal and civil trials. Following a sudden desertion by the departments previous leader, Cal-Wan was named Associate Minister of Justice by Chief of State Orion Chran.
