House Prard is an ancient Chiss House that is focused on martial principles and emphasizes the military aspect of Chiss tradiitons.

History

House Prard claims that it was one of the Great Houses that joined with the original four ruling houses that founded the Chiss Ascendancy, although the loss of records makes this claim impossible to verify. By the time of Chiss Civil dispute in 11 BCGT, House Prard had established a reputation for having the most exceptional Ground Commanders with many having notable records in the CEDF. When House Prard turned on the other Houses they made some noteworthy victories in key ground battles. Those who survived the intense House against House fighting and the later purges by the tyrant Thar`mist Stal would return to a much reduced CEDF.

During the Five Year War against the Tanaasas Cabal, Prard`al Keyrek became Aristocra of the House. Using his offworld connections, Dalke rebuilt the Prard Household Phalanx and the House itself. Prard`uti Takir, a cousin of the house(the lowest rank eligible to obtain House leadership under the old house system) died in the final battle against the Cabal. Dalke's instrumental role in securing the support of Isoldor Storm's 12 Colonies government to ultimately defeat the cabal was rewarded with newly appointed Chiss Ascendancy Chancellor Isoldor Storm appointing Dalke to a seat in the newly reconstituted Council of Families.

The Pirate House

The assassination of Isoldor did not only destablize the Chiss Ascendancy, but also the House. For reasons that remain unknown, Dalke decided to rally all who had supported Storm's government into a reorganization into the an openly piratical government, Black Nebula. With Dalke as leader of Black Nebula the resources of the House were utilized towards criminal enterprises including smuggling. Not too long after Black Nebula was founded, the New Republic attacked Csilla in the Battle of Csilla. Then Prard`al Keyrek disappeared and the House collapsed without clear leadership.

The Pledge

In Year 14, Prard`aga Rono enlisted in the Chiss Ascendancy. Upon joining he also pledged to apprehend Dalke and bring bring him before the Council of Families to face justice for piracy and treason. After years serving House Yar and the Chiss Ascendancy as a whole, Dagaro was permitted to revive the House as House Rono. Dagaro believed House Prard had been too degraded by Dalke's legacy and instead choose to honor another relative, the much more respected Volk`naast Rono.

House Rono oversaw all aspects of Ascendancy operations that did not involve infrastructure or the military. This experience caused Dagaro to accept parts of the concept that having each Chiss House manage one or more aspects of the Ascendancy was a mistake. While the Houses were culturally essential to chiss identity, the flaws had led to both the Chiss Civil Dispute and the Grand Aristocrac of Reius Rothschild(now regarded by many chiss as a time of tyranny).

House Rono and Revival

Following the fall of House Yar and the end of Grand Aristocra Reius Rothschild, House Rono declined.

In the transition period and until the revival of the House System, kept House Rono active by organizing them so that House Rono would have an imprint on the new Houses created by the reforms of Grand Syndic Drath`re Skal. After a brief revival effort within House H`zebi, Prard`aga Rono announced that he was reviving House Prard.

The Prard Patriarch

In 25 CGT, Dagaro set about reviving House Prard, including renewing the pledge to retrieve Prard`al Keyrek and return him to Chiss space for trial. Dagaro announced that House Prard had returned and began to work on revival. Patriarch Dagaro also affirmed that the House would remain in compliance with the Ascendancy Articles drafted by the Syndicure in late 24 CGT, but reiterated that the one thing neither the Grand Syndic nor Syndicure of the Chiss Ascendancy can do is dissolve a Chiss House.
