History
Formation
The early history of Merr-Sonn Technologies (MST) reflects the merging of three distinct groups, each with its own legacy, that combined to form the modern conglomerate.
Merr-Sonn started out as an independent company, before it became a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It was soon sold off to SoroSuub Corporation, at that point the largest business organization in the galaxy. There, it thrived under the leadership of Alec Trevelyan. When SoroSuub and the Rebel Alliance joined forces and founded the New Republic, Merr-Sonn came under the ownership of the Republic. During that time, it was most notably led by Zeth Quo and Amara Myzair.
SoroSuub Munitions evolved from Riviera Trident and operated as the main armaments supplier for the SoroSuub conglomerate, under the leadership of Van Harrad. After the foundation of the New Republic, Van Harrad’s skills were needed elsewhere in the government and Jim Blitz took over. He was replaced by Rilarr Denaiss when Blitz decided to travel the galaxy. The last leader of SoroSuub Munitions was Izjna Khaldho.
NeuroSaav Technology was founded as the supplier of the Rebel Alliance weaponry at the start of the Civil War. The production company was well-known for its top-notch weaponry, which often proved to be a valuable asset on battlegrounds across the galaxy. When the Rebel Alliance evolved into the New Republic, NeuroSaav continued to supply the Republic with its high-quality products. The group’s last leader was Aeternal Conclave.
On Year 10 Day 184, these three groups merged to form one of the largest armaments conglomerates in the known galaxy. The new leaders were CEO Izjna Khaldho, and COO Amara Myzair. As a tribute to Merr-Sonn, the name 'Merr-Sonn Technologies' was chosen.
Modern History
Soon after the merge, Myzair stepped down. Khaldho resigned soon thereafter, switching into another leadership position. He was replaced by Ezekial Nien. After Nien's death in Year 11, which was allegedly caused by Black Sun infiltrators, Nar Thalion claimed leadership and promoted Tengri Lethas to second-in-command. Because Thalion only took leadership to "heal the wounds" of the perceived Black Sun threat, he was replaced by Troucei Laruse in Year 12.
Merr-Sonn Technologies continued to grow throughout this period. As a nationalized company of the New Republic, on Year 13 Day 110, a new merger was negotiated with TransGalMeg Industries, another Republic nationalized company. The entities merged under the MST name, with Luther Nightwish, the former TransGalMeg Industries leader, taking the helm.
Nightwish stepped down in early Year 13, with Lethas becoming the new CEO. A notable accomplishment of his tenure as CEO was the launch of the sales platform Azmart on Year 13 Day 207. Lethas remained CEO until Year 17 Day 306. After his departure, the company underwent six leadership changes in a few short years, reflecting significant leadership instability. This pattern of frequent leadership disruption was exemplified by Lethas' brief return as CEO in Year 20 for 174 days, only to step down once again.
Imperial Reformation
In early Year 21, the Galactic Empire gained control of Merr-Sonn Technologies as part of the New Republic's unconditional surrender to Imperial forces. To accomplish Emperor Seele's goal of bringing all aspects of the former Republic under, "the superior and effective governance of the Imperial Union," the Empire transferred ownership of MST to Black Sun. With the help of talented engineers from Shobquix Industries, Black Sun's nationalized production company, MST expanded its production capacities and technical capabilities.
On Year 25 Day 92, the two production giants merged, incorporating Shobquix Industries' expertise into the established history of groups that shaped Merr-Sonn Technologies' industrial leadership. With over 40 unique, patented products, MST now offers an extensive range of ships, vehicles, weaponry, and equipment, all competitively priced and supported by excellent customer service.
