While marketed as a step up from the Personal Luxury Yacht (PLY) 3000, the PLY-5000 does far more than increase the passenger capacity of its predecessor. In addition to carrying 60% more passengers, the PLY-5000 boasts far more amenities, such as more luxurious accommodations, more entertainment options and a hull design which better facilitates luxury cruises and sight-seeing due to the wide variety of views out of its side and front windows.
Somewhat larger than the PLY-3000, the 5000's speed and manoeuvrability suffer as a result. However, most passengers have not been known to complain about the longer trips. An impressive, expensive and unarmed symbol of luxury and status, the PLY-5000 is a somewhat rare sighting except in the richer portions of the Core Worlds.
