In the wake of excess traffic caused by the ongoing GalaxyFest in Year 21 on Day 270 within the Bright Jewel system a herd of Purrgil's was known to attack mining operations on the gas giant Wynkahthu within the system. These normally docile massive creatures move about the hyperspace lanes, and were an early plague to early hyperspace travel. It was tracked to certain frequencies that attracted these creatures and these frequencies were banned during the early days of the Old Republic. It is believed that an individual or individuals set off a transponder emitting these frequencies that attracted the Purrgils to Wynkahthu in late Year 21.
