Zaala O`Kessa, most commonly known as the proud
Sister "Scrap" and appointed Outlaw Queen by her Brothers, is a humble barkeep of the Scums Tavern, an unqualified Medical Scientist hoping to save numerous races from complete extinction, an alcohol enthusiast who enjoys concocting her own special blends, and a tinker of electronics and droids.
When she is not running the bar of the Hellions Tavern, Scrap is usually seen out and about rummaging amongst scenes of battle and bloodshed searching for junk that could potentially become treasure.
Biography
Before Scrap joined her Brothers in the Dark Star Hellions, she was nothing more than a free spirited soul who spent her entire youth as part of a travelling community. Run by an elderly Corellian Pilot by the name of Jasmine Odan, the community focused on maintaining peace after their former homes had been destroyed during one of the bloodiest civil wars in history. Although the name of this war is nothing but a forgotten fragment of time, the memories of what had occurred over the eight years that the war took place, and the scenes of fallen men, women and children still held fast in the elderly woman's mind. She could not forgive nor forget what had been nothing short of cold blooded murder, but she refused to let the horrors get the better of her. Her people needed her.
Zaala was barely out of the hatchling state when she found her on an abandoned escape pod along one of her supply runs between two of her smaller settlements. The youngling was in a sorry state, starving and cold, and caked in filth. Jasmine didn't mind though; she just scooped her up into her arms and wrapped her old woolly shawl around her as she carried her back to her ship. She fed her, she bathed her, and after an inspection of the pod to determine where she was from and finding nothing, she took her back to the settlement where the child was adopted by an elderly Sluissi, Ssa`ssa O`Kessa who was one of the first settlers in Jasmine's community and her most faithful confidante.
Ssa`ssa, along with her husband who was known only as "Sandman" because of his trade, were part of the original Tribe that had migrated from a now defunct system. The exodus came when their homeworld was invaded and the entire High Command was eradicated almost overnight. Several generations of ruling families were brutally slaughtered and cut down as they were rudely awoken, having no time at all to plead or protest. Children, the poor defenseless noodles that they were, stood no chance at all. “All must die,” was the order, plain and simple, and the monsters armed with blasters and swords did not hold back once. It was an event no Sluissi could ever forget.
Once the last of the High Command had been silenced and cast out into the streets where they were strung up like animals to rot under the beating suns, the newly imposed planetary Supreme Ruler gave the terrified serpents a choice; they could kneel and accept the Supreme Ruler as their new monarch, or they could leave. The few who chose to leave were allowed to do so freely, but once they had made that decision to abandon their homes, every last one of them were considered fugitives, exiles, and were to be killed on sight should they ever decide to return. It was, as the Supreme Ruler remarked, a small price to pay for walking away from what could have been a peaceful resolve.
Ssa`ssa would have stayed, but when Sandman announced that he would be leaving the planet, her family gave him a bag of credits and her hand, and told him that she deserved to be free of the brutal hand of the Supreme Ruler. Ssa`ssa barely shed a tear for her family but inside her heart was breaking as she was dragged onto a ship and watched as her parents, old and frail as they were, knelt before the Supreme Ruler. She understood why they chose to stay; their home was all they had ever known, and in their state of health, they could no longer travel. As long as they were together until the end, that was all they’d ever want.
Glom Tho Mechanicals
After a while the call came for Hellions to disperse into the various other factions and fall dormant until the galaxy needed them. For a time, Scrap settled into Crimson Dawn running a few errands for Father Xanxus and the Temple until the day came when the Droid Faction, Glom Tho Mechanicals was founded and the Junkyard Queen was offered a more permanent place as the Leader.
