'''Clan Tchakova''' originated on [[Kiffex]] many years ago and most likely precedes the Old Republic. First founded by Nakht Ptahshepses Tchakova, the clan is still in the hands of the original family and is currently lead by Jarua`jei Tchakova who in turn will be succeeded by his son [[Blaise Tchakova]].

==History==

[[File:Tchakova Healers.jpg|450px|thumb|left|
Tchakovan Healers during the Kiffar Civil Wars
]] Clan Tchakova came into a more active role on Kiffex during the Black Sun intervention of the Kiffar race. Unlike most neutral clans who were forced to choose their allegiance during the Civil wars, Clan Tchakova held firm with their belief of neutrality. Less skilled in militaristic strategy other than hunting for food or for sport, Clan Tchakova excelled in their medical practices. Even before record keeping began the clan had been using the natural resources of Kiffex to aid them in their everyday tasks of hunting and cooking, but most importantly their medicine. The dense forests saw to that, offering the clan a rich abundance of indigenous plant life from which they learned to utilise. A millennia of refined bush craft and minor technological aid enabled the clan to excel in the field of medicine to which they are now known for. During the wars they offered their expertise freely to both sides, without discrimination. Since then they have returned to being isolate and no longer aid those who persist in the fighting. They recognise the end of the wars and believe in harmonious coexistence throughout all of Azurbani.

===Qukuuf===

Historically, most Kiffar clans brand their young offspring with a tattoo, traditionally called a Qukuuf. As the clan went through a gradual reform, more freedom was given to the clan members who wished to explore new worlds outside Azurbani. As this freedom was given, clan Tchakova decided to overlook the historical tradition many years ago as they believed that marking the young would be placing the weight of the clan’s past actions upon them, hazardously limiting them to a clan life. Through teachings and the natural eagerness to uphold the clan’s values, young members of the group didn’t seem to require a mark to understand where they come from and where they will always have a home.

However this did present a problem during the clan’s medical relief missions during the Civil wars, as it was feared by many that the other Kiffar clans would not be able to identify the clan’s neutrality - thus automatically becoming hostile. For the duration of the wars the Tchakovan healers adopted back braces which displayed the 7 pointed star, known as Azurbani to the clan who have used the symbol for many generations. This would stand as a temporary sort of Qukuuf so that other clans knew the neutrality of the healers.

===The Azurbani Holy Temple===

[[File:Azurbani Holy Temple.jpg|400px|thumb|right|
Inside the Holy Temple
]]

About one in a hundred Kiffar had the ability to read the memories of inanimate objects—including formerly animate objects like corpses—by touch, an ability known as ‘psychometry.’ Clan Tchakova was no stranger to this ability and throughout history has had members of the clan who possessed this talent. They were and still are known to the clan as Listeners. Many choose to train their ability and work in the Holy Temple, and there have been up to 15 working in the temple at one time although their numbers have dwindled as of late.

Their ability to touch the dead and read their memories gives the people of Clan Tchakova some sense of ease with the passing of clan members. A book which resides in the temple contains the memories of those whose final resting place is within the Azurbani Holy Temple, rightfully called The Book of our Memories.
