Childhood

Beginning

From what is known of Asaaj's early life it has been determined that he was born the only child of a young couple of Nerf herders in a small town on Tatooine. His mother died shortly after his birth in a farming accident. His father raised him through the first years of his life. He lived the life of an average farm boy.

Kidnapping

Around the age of 10 the village Asaaj and his father resided in was raided by militiamen from another world seeking new recruits. Asaaj and his father were pulled from their home in the middle of the night and brought to the center of town, where the others in the village were being inspected. The inspectors moved one by one examining the villagers, those they deemed unfit were executed and left limp in the dirt. Asaaj and his father both passed and were herded onto the ship the men had brought with them, a dirty and worn AA-9. Once inside the villagers were put into a hold already packed with others from around Tatooine. The AA-9 then set off for an unknown planet somewhere in the outer rim.

A New Life

It is believed Asaaj and his father arrived on a heavily forested planet somewhere in the south-east of the galaxy. It is here that he and his father were re-examined by the leader of the guerrilas. They were assigned to a company under the leadership of one of the senior members of the militia. In the next few years the recruits were trained physically and mentally. They were told that they had to cast off the shackles of big government, the militia was nothing but an anarchist group. The young Asaaj, having never left Tatooine, was extremely susceptible. He began to view the leaders of the milita as more of a father figure than his own.

Teen Years

The First Raid

Asaaj was a standout from the other forced soldiers, he didn't hold back, he embraced the life. Now 14 he was to participate in his first raid. His unit was tasked with razing a camp of dissidents. He took to this assignment with gusto, gallantly following his commanding officer into the primitive camp, blaster blazing. Within minutes the camp was devoid of life. Asaaj had become a killer.

Rising

From what holocron investigators have uncovered Asaaj continued to impress, rising in ranks quickly. He paid little attention to his father, who spent his time cleaning the groups outdated weapons. His frequently clashed with his father over their new life, his father said that he was becoming crazy, that he had forgotten where he had come from. Asaaj thought that his father was a slave to the mainstream, he was the crazy one.

The Coruscant Years

A New World

Upon arriving in coruscant Asaaj, Wezzy, and the rest of The Bleeding Hearts found a planet vastly different from the sands of tatooine. This was going to be a whole different form of crime. No longer could the gang raid loosely defended encampments and terrorize starports guarded by untrained militia. Asaaj decided that the gang would need to learn how to operate in the dense cityscape. And so they descended into the underlevels of the city planet.

They set up shop in an abandoned nightclub in one of the poorest neighborhoods, carefully observing how local gangs operated and the power of the authorities. Weeks of observation went by, gathering information about where to strike. Asaaj knew that the gang needed its own territory, and to do this he would need to take it by force. Finally he decided to strike..

With the few weapons they managed to smuggle past imperial security checks the gang made their way to a club frequented by the local gang. Taking up positions throughout the establishment they waited for Asaaj's signal. When the resident gangs leadership emerged from a back room Asaaj drew his Dl-18 and fired in the direction of the group. Like a swarm of bees the rest of The Bleeding Hearts began firing their weapons too. Civilians began screaming and running for their lives as blaster bolts filled the air, mainly from the Bleeding Hearts. Taken off guard the resident gang stood little chance. Asaaj and his crew made quick work of them. Now with territory of their own Asaaj set his sights on expanding their power.

Gods of Crime

Asaaj took a unique, piratical approach to crime on coruscant, allowing safe passage for vessels if they paid up. They also expanded into other areas, defeating rival gangs, and recruiting new members. The gang kept attacking bigger and bigger targets ranging from hijacking military convoys, to holding diplomats for ransom. Asaaj and his entourage were enjoying the highlife at the helm of the most powerful crime syndicate in the planets history. Asaaj was known throughout the land as one of the most powerful crime lords in the area. They began expanding off planet, creating asteroid bases for storage of more smuggled goods. Asaaj even striking up a relationship with one of the females in the gang. He was living large, at the height of his life. But things would soon come crashing down..

Fall

After receiving a tip that a large shipment of weapons were stored in a warehouse the Bleeding Hearts moved in for what they thought would be another easy raid. Upon entering they found the large cache of weapons, they began searching through the crates of weapons. They were preparing to load their haul onto their transports when a thermal bomb detonated, collapsing the building and creating a massive fireball. Asaaj watched as Wezzy was nearly crushed by a section of the roof. He watched as other members of the gang he worked so hard to create burned, and were crushed. Asaaj himself was engulfed in flame, it felt as though his skin was peeling off. He couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. Asaaj began crawling his way out of the warehouse, watching as others that were trying to escape were cut down by blasterfire from outside. Asaaj himself was struck in the left eye. He succumbed to the pain, falling unconsious as he saw his friend Wezzy coming to him.

He awoke in one of the gangs asteroid hideouts. Alone in the dim lights Wezzy, his arm burnt, and his leg bandaged, was applying bacta patched to Asaaj's burnt skin. Asaaj's bandaged right eye was completely destroyed, along with the surrounding skin. He could hardly breathe. He could hardly move. He was alive, but that was all.

A New Life

Asaaj and Wezzy began traveling through hyperspace with no destination, moving from starport to starport. They did odd jobs to get by, Asaaj generally showing very little skin. This was not the life he wanted, he had to get back to prominance. He was angry, angry that his life had been taken from him. That his love had been taken from him. He vowed to bring anyone that challenged him down. His pride, and his friendship with Wezzy were his only guide.

He served a brief stint with Ubrikkian Industries hauling vehicles across the galaxy. He was reduced to a mere spacer, this was a disgrace to him. He hated it. He soon quit and continued his nomadic lifestyle. Where it is believed he and Wezzy have settled down somewhere in the Outer Rim.

Although Asaaj once worked for Ubrikkian, a subsidary of the New Republic, and a criminal, he is known to be partial towards The Galactic Empire. Incorporating imperial symbolism in his daily life.
