Aveneus D’Arci is a son of Serenno of noble birth. At the age of twenty-three, he left his homeworld to build a life and career for himself beyond the confines of Serenno, and to escape the societal ostracization he faced as the result of being a child born out of wedlock, and the political intrigue that followed. Presently, he is travelling the galaxy in search of a worthy cause to join, and ambitions to pursue.

Biography

Early life (2 CGT - 25 CGT)

A son of Serenno, Aveneus D’Arci was born in the city of Fiyarro in 2 CGT as the first and only child of a Serennian noblewoman. His mother, Heleana D’Arci, was the scion of an old, wealthy, but lesser aristocratic line that had been a part of Serenno for countless generations, with the oldest family records going back as far as the days of the Old Republic. During her late twenties, Heleana had entered into an affair with Varyc Merici, a Serennian nobleman of higher standing than her. Unbeknownst to Heleana, Varyc was already betrothed to another at the time of their liaison, and shortly after she discovered she was with child, the nobleman distanced himself from his mistress and her soon-to-be-born son. Upon Aveneus’ birth, his father agreed to provide a monthly stipend for his upbringing and education, but refused to maintain any further contact with his offspring or the mother of his son. In addition, the Merici family - having caught wind of the former affair - turned their allies and associates against Heleana and the D’Arci family which made life in Fiyarro difficult. As a result, Aveneus and his mother moved to the Serennian countryside near the city of Carannia in 6 CGT.

Aveneus grew up in a smaller but lavish manor that the D’Arci family had owned for generations, but rarely occupied outside of the summer season. He and his mother Heleana lived a quiet life in the Serennian countryside, and rarely ventured into nearby Carannia. As a result of her treatment at the hands of House Merici in Fiyarro, Heleana had developed psychological issues which made her prone to bouts of debilitating melancholy. Much of Aveneus’ upbringing was therefore handled by his governess, a stern Duros woman named Sen Tekla, while his education was overseen by various tutors in the employ of the D’Arci family. This had the unfortunate side effect that Aveneus rarely interacted with peers outside of his cousins from his mother’s side, which led to the development of a more inwardly turned personality demeanour.

Throughout his life, the liaison his mother Heleana had shared with his father Varyc had haunted Aveneus. Those outside his family looked down on him, their disdain fed by the rumours and gossip spread throughout their social circles by the Mericis. As a result, while he loved the Serennian countryside where he grew up, Aveneus had always felt like an outsider on his own homeworld. Even when he attended the University of Carannia in his adolescent years, the ridicule and social ostracization continued unabated. He desperately tried to attain the respect and regard of his peers by partaking in youth legislative programs, investing time and energy in various volunteer initiatives in and outside of Carannia, and was part of student exchange programs with universities on planets such as Torque, Thesme IV, and Toprawa. The latter made him realise that he had a chance at a life and career outside the confines of Serenno and the societal ostracization he was subjected to. As such, upon the completion of his studies, he started preparing to leave Serenno to build a life and career for himself in the wider galaxy. This had led to a severe falling out with Heleana, who felt she was being abandoned by yet another man, and mother and son broke contact. Thus, with no ties to hold him to Serenno any longer, Aveneus departed his homeworld in 25 CGT, seemingly for good.

Appearance

A human male in his early twenties, Aveneus has an above average height for a human by being 185 centimetres tall. He is broad-shouldered with a muscular build, albeit with a flat but undefined midsection. His facial features are proportional and well-defined, his broad and strong jawline and visible cheekbones giving him what most humanoids would consider a classically handsome appearance. His golden blonde hair is a length between short and medium, with a slight wavy flow in the hairdo. His dark grey eyes are a common trait among the members of the D’Arci family, and add a sense of maturity to his facial features, as well as the neatly trimmed beard he sports on his lower face.

Aveneus’ style of dress is heavily inspired by his Serennian roots. As is common among the nobles of Serenno, he often has a short cape incorporated into his outfits, which usually consist of tunics and suits. He is known to occasionally also don fine leather jackets, as well as more formal uniforms when the setting and occasion call for it. In terms of preferred colour scheme, he often wears attire in dark blue tones such as cobalt with golden hems, touches, or finishes adding an aristocratic flair to his appearance. Yet, the formal colours of the D’Arci family are burgundy and brass, which he wears regularly but infrequently. In terms of jewellery, the primary and only piece that Aveneus wears is a brass signet ring, with a dark red stone in which the family crest is carved.
