Evelyn Reighner is a medical professional from the galactic capital of Coruscant. Born into a life of opportunity she shied away from her parents' political aspirations and instead followed a different path of philanthropy and medical expertise. Learning from some of the finest galactic lecturers and physicians, she excelled through their educational endeavours to undertake some of the best medical positions available, before entering the private sector to pursue other aspirations in her chosen field. Despite her good nature and steadfast belief in helping others, her private life has been filled with people of an unsavory nature. Enjoying the nightlife scenes throughout the galaxy and embracing questionable company, she follows her desires and keeps her professional and personal lives at arm's length. As she continues her research in private sector operations, she continues to search for ways to improve the lives of sentients in the galaxy.

Big Heart from an Early Age

Do As We Do

Born to a politician and a political party financier, Evelyn Reighner enjoyed a rich childhood. Raised on the Imperial capital of Coruscant by parents Drake and Gloria Reighner, she spent her early childhood years mostly around the Regional Government offices of her father as he pursued his political career as an Imperial Moff. While her mother was a chief financier and chief executive of her husband's political party, money was never a major concern. While she was being groomed for an eventual rise in their footsteps to be a committed public servant and politician, from the age of four Evelyn knew she had other plans. Her bright mind and the position of her parents in society saw her admitted early into the Imperial Academy. Even though her Imperial aspirations weren't strong, she attended to please her parents but to also see herself receive the best education available. Excelling in areas of diplomacy and research, she shied away from military exercises to spend more time with the Research and Development officers as she found it considerably more enjoyable. While her grades excelled and her enjoyment peaked at the ability to help manufacture medical marvels, she was easily disgusted at the militant wing that sought to manufacture more efficient ways to excel in the Galactic Civil War, which saw her reach a crossroads. She had reached the age of twelve and had receive enough credit based on her grades to graduate early, but her parents wanted her to remain and learn more about the political system and the ways of the Galactic Empire.

After negotiating with her parents and highlighting her desires, they eventually understood her aspirations were not in politics and allowed her early graduation, on the condition she transferred to the nearby planet of Metellos in the Coruscant Sector to complete her education. Given access to her fathers Lambda Shuttle known as Itakagi, she was granted through a number of Imperial designations and family connections, restricted access to the various Research and Development Laboratories on Metellos, known as The Pacifist Initiative. Through this admission, she was able to receive specialist training in various medical procedures and scientific advancement to complete her exceptional education. At the end of a teaching semester, she received word from her parents that they had given birth to another child, Jacob. Despite being uninformed of the conception, she was elated and returned to the family home on Coruscant to spend time with her new brother. Although she now had to compete for her parents admiration and attention, at the age of fifteen she wasn't overly concerned. Her education was progressing exceptionally well and her life prospects were limitless.

After spending several months with her family and caring for her brother, she returned to Metellos to resume her studies. Her unquestionable work ethic and desire to learn became throated as she continued to spend time neglecting her coursework to communicate home with her family. Becoming more and more homesick being away from her brother, she began to contemplate removing herself from the exclusive program. Heeding her parents advice, she remained in the program and began to move closer to another flawless graduation. With exceptional grades in place, she realised that her social life was somewhat lacking. Most of her time was spent with professors and Imperial officers over twenty years her senior, and not with people and colleagues of her own age group. Beginning to spend more time socialising and understanding others on a more personal level instead of under a microscope, she began to develop a number of social and physical relationships with a number of her associates, of both genders. Enjoying the secluded Imperial nightlife on offer on Metallos, she began to experience new social practices and physical conditions by experimenting with alcoholic substances and various hallucinogenic. With her education essentially wrapped up, she could unwind without consequence, as her sheltered social being could finally see the light of day.

Upon her graduation from services inside the The Pacifist Initiative several days before her seventeenth birthday, she received a number of employment opportunities throughout various sectors of the Imperial Government, many of which were pressed upon her by her highly influential parents in their haste to have her embrace the cause. While many proved lucrative and enticing, she decided to take some time off after her studies and spend some time back home on Coruscant to spend time with her brother who was growing up rapidly. Spending many days of the week with her brother, caring for him and entertaining him, she spent a couple of days a week in the slums of Coruscant volunteering at a number of medical clinics. While frowned upon initially by her parents, they understood her desire to help others and allowed her to volunteer at the clinics, all of which saw an increase in security with her visits. The security increase not only saw a decrease in crime in the region, but a rapid influx of patients that could be treated without fear of harm. Productivity and efficiency numbers improved throughout the various clinics and in time, so did Evelyn's reputation as a skilled physician throughout Imperial space.

Growing Older and Older

Patients to Heal, Money to Make

Turning eighteen meant she now legally work as a registered doctor in the various clinics throughout Imperial Union space. With an impressive resume and exceptional references from her parents and other colleges from The Pacifist Project, Evelyn was given credentials at the Imperial Hospital on Coruscant. Stationed throughout the floors and floors of laboratories, she was placed in the Research department to help find more efficient cures and disease deterrents.

Working with various strains of alien issue and treating bacteria, she was able to manufacture various enzymes and antidotes to aid Imperial citizens that were part of new colonisation projects. After a number of months spent in the labs, she was put on a surgery rotation to help with the growing influx of patients, while giving her the ability to keep her skills sharp. One of her first patients on her rotation was a Tionese politician, Ignatius Paak. Irritated and unwell after several political journeys throughout the Imperial Union, Evelyn was able to diagnose him with a rare irritation known as Trichinitis which can result in sweating, loss of consciousness and irritation after periods of travel. She was able to prescribe him with a medicinal healing option to help subside the annoyance and sent him on his way. Throughout her time in the rotation she would aid a great number of political and public figures, including regular checkups for her family members.

With every day passing, Evelyn was growing her skills and reputation throughout the hospital. Her assignments became more challenging. Placed in charge of the hospitals research division, she redirected funds from Imperial war efforts and instead re-attributed operations to focus on the improvement of medical care for citizens of Imperial space. This move was viewed with initial praise by hospital administration as losses were minimal. It allowed the standard of care for the various medical clinics that Evelyn had worked for in her teenage years to blossom with increased funding and access to the latest treatments at a fraction of the cost. However various pockets of the administration were growing wary with her focus and began to pressure her to focus on hospital care and leave outreach programs to the various diplomatic and public relations sectors of the Imperial Government. Despite consul from her parents to follow the instruction of her various superiors, Evelyn increased the funding to volunteering programs while pushing out more and more cures and aids for common illnesses and ailments. Despite the overwhelming public support she was gaining, various government officials commenced a smear campaign which inevitability removed from her position in the hospital, and her reputation tarnished with falsified data published about her findings in various galactic medical journals. In short, her career was over.

Rebuild Thyself

Publicly humiliated, Evelyn was put in a rare position. She was correct with all her findings and yet she was destroyed by falsified data. She reached out to her parents who were privately worried about her and were able to aid her where they could, however publicly they were forced to support the Galactic Empire's position. In an effort to avoid more public scrutiny and discomfort for her family, Evelyn spent her twenty-first birthday arranging for transport to Corellia. Despite being of Imperial alignment, her mission was to remain under the radar and build her reputation once again. With some financial aid from her parents, Evelyn said goodbye once again to her brother and traveled via public shuttle to Corellia. Living outside the main metropolis, Evelyn purchased a small property around the undesirable sectors to help with victims of crime and illness where she could. Using falsified information she had collected from her time in the Imperial hospital, she opened up a private medical clinic that would provide the cheapest medical facilities available, without affecting patient care. What began as a private operation rapidly grew. Patients and Clients from far and wide poured into the dangerous district to receive care for themselves and their families, which saw medical professionals soon enlist to help. Aliens that were shunned from service in the Galactic Empire were the first to register their aid, given Evelyn's admiration for their persistence. The clinic soon became even more popular than Imperial installations, which also saw an increase in crime in the district. The clinic was regularly targeted by Imperial raids and burglary, while various patients would be taken away and arrested from the safe haven. This cut-throat nature saw Evelyn develop a growing distaste from the Imperial cause, which she struggled to deal with given the affiliation of her parents.

While she spent most of her time at the clinic, on the rare time she managed to kick back and relax, she would spend a time at various taverns in the underworld districts. Despite her good nature and innocent appearance, she enjoyed the notoriety and the danger that went along with visiting such establishments. Enjoying the company of several patrons, she would partake in a number of unofficial relationships to ensure her work-life balance was adhered to. Despite the expense to the clinic and her own personal finances, she would often hand out free medical care while under the effects of alcohol when she visited the taverns, which, despite the questionable nature, kept her out of harms way. When she reached the age of twenty-four she found herself needing to expand her operation. Imperial authorities were mounting an investigation into the true ownership of her clinic, while patient care was being affected by an overcrowd system. As she began scouting for a second clinic location in the sprawls of Corellia, Evelyn was arrested by Corellian Security Forces on suspicion of falsifying data and investor fraud. Knowing full well she had falsified the data to open the clinic, Evelyn laughed at the irony given her past as she sat in an interrogation cell awaiting her legal counsel to arrive. Evelyn was able to handover operations to her associate Lucian Gorma while her legal matters were being attended to, but all financial assets were frozen, limiting the clinics ability to function.

Change in the Air

After a lengthy investigation into the clinics origins, Corellian Authorities were preparing to formally charge Evelyn before an announcement came through that her release had been secured. As her release was formalised, she learned that her parents had officially taken the blame for the opening of the clinic to spare their daughter any further embarrassment. Taking a sabbatical, Evelyn returned to the family home on Coruscant for an explanation. After a length discussion, her parents had revealed that they had planned to retire from public office to take care of their son. Their wealth was enough to support two lifetimes and their personal enthusiasm to continue in public office had begun to wain. Taking the heat for the clinic saw them public removed from their positions of power, with all access removed to Imperial resources. Shocked by the gesture given their previous adherence to rules and procedure of the Galactic Empire, Evelyn returned to Corellia and officially renamed the clinic as the Gloria Reighner Centre for Health, before opening a second clinic and proclaiming it the Drake Reighner Centre for Wellbeing in dedication of her parents willingness to take the blame. Evelyn continued running the clinics with the aid of her colleague Lucian Gorma, who had previously been romantically linked, until she decided to succeed control to him entirely and become a silent partner and investor just before her twenty-fourth birthday.

Medical Woes

Take One For the Team

As a medical doctor Evelyn faced many different challenges each day, treating unique patients with equally unique afflictions. Shortly after the outbreak of war on the distant planet of Derra there was always a new group of patients arriving with injuries and ailments. It is during this time that she believes to have contracted the Derra Virus.

Around Year 14 Day 30, Evelyn had been treating a badly wounded soldier. His body had reacted strangely to the medication that was given to him, medication that usually alleviated pain rather than increasing it. While deciding on her next move to treat the soldier, he began seizing. Reacting quickly she held him down, in an attempt to prevent him from hurting himself, while she called for help. However, almost as quickly as it began the seizure began to dissipate.

The soldier was breathing laboriously and she attempted to see what might be the cause as she peered down into his throat. Suddenly the soldier’s stomach heaved and he released a greenish fluid that then covered him and Evelyn as well. Nurses came soon after to tend to the patient and she left to clean herself up.

The next day Evelyn became ill and was admitted to a hospital. Shortly thereafter, Evelyn fell into a coma for three days. When Evelyn awoke she felt as if something about her had changed but she was not sure what it was exactly. Looking in a mirror she noted her face shape had changed and she had become slightly taller and thinner in appearance. Upon ordering tests she discovered that her DNA was highly similar to that of a Thyferran rather than her birth race of a Coruscanti.

-On Year 14 Day 34, Evelyn was infected with the Metamorphosis Plague, transforming her into a Thyferran.
