Vi Kairo (Pronounced 'Vee KYE-Roh') is a Mandalorian mercenary, former Pirate, and member of Mando'ade. Though biologically Anzati, he is known to be both genetically modified and cybernetically enhanced. He is the product of a failed initiative to create a force of genetically superior cloned soldiers over half a Millennium ago. He is known to be mentally and emotionally unstable as a result of excessive experimentation with his genome.
Kairo is a veteran mercenary having served in countless conflicts and skirmishes over his centuries of life, including the Clone Wars and the more recent Mandalorian Civil War, most notably playing a role in the Battle of Karedda. He pledged his rifle to close friend Kai Oryk in Year 11 CGT, shortly before Oryk claimed the mantle of Mand'alor.
He has briefly taken command of the mercenary forces of Mando'ade, acting as Al'Ori'Ramikade at Kai's behest before deciding he was ill-suited for the responsibility of holding the clans together. Later he again acted as steward of sorts until the return of Anto Bajur, to whom Vi relinquished leadership with gusto. Despite his aversion to responsibility, Vi has served as second-in-command to both Oryk and Bajur at various times throughout the group's history, with far more success than his brief forays into leadership.
Biography
Early Years
Vi was created in the year 640 CGT by a cabal of well-funded Khommite cloners and a Kaminoan Geneticist. His birth and formative years took place in the austere and decaying halls of a deep space installation that served as their base of operations deep in the heart of the Rishi Maze, far from the prying eyes of the Republic and scientific watchdog organizations.
Though one of several hundred prototype clones only 5 others shared Vi's specific genetic template, as the Kaminoan Geneticist's alterations made it difficult for the Khommite to produce viable embryos suitable for tank gestation. Dubbed "Group Esk", the 6 were considered genetic failures but were educated and trained nonetheless, as were the other groups deemed nonviable in an attempt to isolate which alterations would produce inferior combatants or superior officers.
Life on the station was bleak and violent, most often short with a grim conclusion.
