Aetherianity is monolatristic religion centered on the Sacrodice and the teachings of the Augurs. In principle it teaches that the Force is corrupted on all sides and will bring an end to the Universe with the only salvation being with Aether.

Beliefs

Monolatry

Aetherians believe that there are twenty Gods who exist in a hierarchical structure.

Aether

Aether is the 'God above all Gods', existing beyond the force and Universe. Aether is the creator of all.

Gods of Life

Anima and Alacritas are direct descendants of Aether and are the Gods of Life, they brought life to the Universe including the force and are the second highest Gods in Aetherianity.

Gods of Death

Obitus and Morte are direct descendants of Aether and are the Gods of Death, they brought death to Universe and are the third highest Gods in Aetherianity

Gods of Light

Leggera and Lumen are the descendants of Anima and Alacritas and are the Gods of Light, they bring energy and hope into the Universe and are responsible for weakening the power of Vuota. The Gods of Light are the fourth highest Gods in Aetherianity.

God of Darkness

Vuota is the God of Darkness and is the only God in Aetherianity, other than Aether who rules alone. Vouta is the descendant of Obitus and Morte. Vuota brings void and despair into the Universe. Vuota is the fifth highest in the hierarchical structure of Aetherianity.

Gods of the Force

The Gods of the Force are a family of four (sometimes referred to as 'Four Force Family'), a husband, a wife, a son and a daughter. They're the only Gods who have a physical form (as separate bodies) in the Universe. Babbo and Genetrix also referred to by 'Father' and 'Mother' are descendants of Leggera and Lumen. They are the only Gods who sexually reproduced. Prior to having their children Babbo and Genetrix brought perfect balance to the force with both being referred to as 'perfectly balanced force users' in the Sacrodice. Their children Prognatus and Filia (also referred to as Son and Daughter) in stark contrast belong on the extreme ends of the force. With Prognatus an extreme follower of the dark side and Filia being an extreme follower of the light side. Both constantly fight to push the Universe closer to the side they align with, the only thing preventing utter chaos being their parents and both siblings not being completely pure with their beliefs due to their family ties. In the hierarchical structure the family in the Sacrodice is placed sixth however many Augurs now argue they are seventh (the lowest in the hierarchy).

Gods of the Elements

The Sacrodice teaches there are four elements, each ruled over by a pair of siblings making up the eight Gods of the Elements. They are the descendants of the Gods of Life and Gods of Death. Generally one sibling is seen as 'light' with the other viewed as 'dark' however many Augurs argue against this black and white approach and highlight that together they each bring balance to their chosen element. The Gods of the Elements are unique in the fact of how closely they communicate and work with one another as the four 'light' siblings will work together and the four 'dark' siblings will work together , however it is not a perfect unison as two different elemental Gods of different 'sides' (light or dark) will never work together. With light and dark only coming together under the Elemental Gods when it is between siblings. The Earth element is ruled over by Terra (Light) and Humus (Dark). The Air element is ruled over by Aeris (Light) and Aria (Dark). The Water element is ruled over by Acquo (Light) and Unda (Dark). The Fire element is ruled over by Incendio (Dark) and Ignis (Light). In the hierarchical structure the Gods of the Elements is placed seventh (the lowest in the hierarchy) in the Sacrodice however many Augurs argue in the modern age they should be sixth. (*1.1.6)

Codru-Ji Within Aetherianity

Amongst the Augur and wider community of Aetherianity is an ongoing debate over the Codru-Ji and their roles within the religion with some arguments of 'Codru-Ji supremacy' and/ or 'Codri-Ji isolationism' within Aetherianity. These debates stem from the history of Aetherianity (*2) as well as the views held by many Codru-Ji Augurs who believe they're the chosen (and only) species to communicate with the Aether. Many justify these beliefs using the 'Twenty Finger Theory, FTF'. As of Year 24 CGT all the Augurs of Aetherianity are Codru-Ji.

Death

Most Aetherians believe that all those currently dead are in a state of limbo, with their presence inside the Universe as part of the Force. And thus they believe that only the 'Final Judgement' is when death is finalised and the souls, spirit and minds of those dead are brought to either the 'Beyond Land' and renewed a new and more divine life, or if Aether declines them then they cease to exist.

Aetherians also take part in burial rites to honor the death and to show the deceased faith to Aether (*3.5)

Salvation

Salvation is a subject mentioned frequently in the Sacrodice as well as being a frequent theme in Augur's communication to the Aether. Within Aetherianity salvation is the belief that Aether will save the followers of Aetherianity after the 'Final Judgement'. Every follow of Aetherianity believes this to be the truth from strict orginalists of the Sacrodice to more liberal Augurs, they all agree that the Force has been corrupted after the Babbo and Genetrix reproduced breaking the perfect balance bestowed upon them by the 'Higher Gods', many believe that this event is the main reason the Sacrodice was wrote. This corruption of the Force has been prophesied to gradually grow worse causing increasing wars and destruction. It is said that the ignorance of the Light Side and the greed of the Dark Side will bring a challenge to the Gods which can only be stopped by 'Vuota's Void'and salvation by Aether in the Final Judgement. There are still ongoing debates over whether this challenge will come from within the Gods of the Force or from outside.

History

It is taught that Aetherianity was founded around 100,000 BCGT, when an ancient race on Munto Codru was attacked by Prognatus. This ancient race is only ever referred to in the Sacrodice as the 'Prodromus' meaning predecessor. The Prodromus fled their extravagant Castles and hid within twenty mountains said to have opened under the command of the Aether. This is when the Sacrodice was said to be created, as one Prognatus in each mountain became an Augur (Known as the 'Originals') and would share their wisdom with all of those around them. Prognatus in a challenge to Aether continued to wreak havoc onto Munto Codru for years, it is taught that Aether used divine powers to keep the Prodromus alive. However the power of the dark side in the Universe was powerful eventually causing only the Originals to survive, in their finals years they completed the Sacrodice in twenty chapters each ordered upon by Aether until meeting the same fate as the other Prodromus. Augurs today teach that the Prodromus were blessed by Aether and are in the 'Beyond Land'

Around 1000 BCGT, the Codru-Ji family of Aether which resides in Munto Codru were called upon by Aether and guided to each Chapter. Where they put each piece together to create the completed Sacrodice. Through generations the family of Aether educated other Codru-Ji on the teachings of the Sacrodice and Aether leading to the rise of Aetherianity and a new wave of Augurs who today are not only those within the Aether family (however still is the large majority) but also other Codru-Ji.

Practises

Aetherianity has several practises meant to bring followers of the religion closer to Aether these include communal worship, prayer, Augur meditation, sacred dance rituals, marriage rites and burial rites.

Communal Worship

Aetherians assemble for communal worship during several traditional Aetherian ceremonies (*3.5,3.6,4.1,4.2,4.3). These worships bring together both Augurs and Aetherians without the ability to directly connect with Aether, during communal worship several other practises take place (*3.2,3.3,3.4.3.5). Communal Worship also includes drinking of Holy Water from the mountains Munto Codru.

Prayer

Augur Meditation

Sacred Dance Rituals

Marriage Rites

A' Aetherian marriage is a marriage blessed by Aether. Aetherians believe that marriage is lifelong agreement which confirms the sacred love between two individuals. Marriage is commonly planned with the guidance of Augurs during Mass Amongst Augurs (*4.2) however marriages without the consultation of Augurs does take place. During the ceremony of a marriage a large community of Aetherians gather (usually in rural areas) and celebrates with various practises and ceremonies (*3.1,3.2,3.3,3.4,4.2,4.3) to spread the glory of Aether and strengthen the marriage.

Burial Rites

A' Aetherian burial is the burial of a deceased person with specific Aetherian rites. Aetherians believe that the bodies of the dead Aetherians should lie in pure peace until the Final Judgement. In Aetherian thought the belief of letting nature and the deceased become one is taught and so the dead are buried far away from artificial constructions. The 'Iteprortuis' takes place where loved ones of the deceased take the body far away into more natural areas, commonly forests. During the burial many other practises and ceremonies of Aetherianity take place (*3.1,3.2,3.3,3.4,4.2,4.3).

Other Religions and Critique

Due to the largely negative connotations of the Force throughout the teachings of Aetherianity it is heavily criticised by Force devoted religions such as the Jedi and the Sith.

Aetherianity has been criticised for its punishments delivered to the 'medax' (liars claiming to be Augurs) where stonings against the accused have taken place. Further critique stems from the large majority of these stonings happening to non Codru-Ji which is a key argument in the 'Codru-Ji supremacy' debate. These punishments have been highly controversial within Aetherianity even amongst Augurs with some denouncing the actions through Aether and others justifying it through Aether.
