The Caamasi are an interesting form of sentient being in how their physiology does not necessarily explain all of their attributes or claimed attributes. Many an exobiologist across the galaxy have had many heated conversations over the Caamasi claim to have an empathic ability that allows them to sense the emotional states of those around them. Some of these exobiologists surmise it is because of the Caamasi tapered snout that while containing an impressive set of fangs also has a very acute sense of smell. This though has been open for debate for as long as there have been those who study this generally passive race. The Caamasi claim of empathic abilities though seem to have some measure of proof as shown in many recorded diplomatic situations where the situations hung in the balance of being able to read another sentient's emotional states in order to possibly overcome what would become a dangerous or outright war like situation.

All of this said, the Camassi as a species are of average humanoid height when compared to humans with the females of their species being slightly larger. Both male and females are covered in fine fur that tend to be universal in coloration all over their bodies with three lines of marks running from the top of their cranium to the base of their spine. The colorations of the fur of their species tends to be tans to darker grey tones, however females tend to have lighter fur coloration. The three distinctive marks down the head and back of a Caamasi tend to be darker in coloration in comparison with their body fur for males and lighter than their body coloration with females. There are some variations to this observation but overall stands as a good template for their species for the non Camaasi sentients that they come across.

Due to their empathic sense which the Caamasi claim they can share with close relatives, events such as murder and killing seem to have a very profound impact upon their mental states. While exobiologists may debate heavily upon the actual existence of this mysterious empathic sense what is certain is that traumatic events around them have a profound impact upon their mental health, causing most of their species to be considered pacifists in the extreme in comparison with most other sentient species.

Their curious biology leads to them having a distinct body scent that, for most sentients, has a calming sensation. Some with experience in spirits and other such beverages claim that the smell is akin to that of a fine Corellian Whiskey with proper spicy, wooden after tones. This calming effect along with their generally impressive adherance to passifism has lead some to think that they are completely harmless. While this may seem true, their longer than human arms end with three fingers, each with a relatively sharp talon. Their tapered snouts while possesing an acute sense of smell, also boast an impressive array of teeth that are normally hidden under the semi prehensile and hairless snout. Despite all of this some have tried to exploit the Caamasi to some ill effect and while the Caamasi are more than willing to take great strides to avoid violence it is not unknown for them to take extreme action to protect others, especially those closest to them.
