Personality

Lore isn't the sort to take anything from anyone. She appreciates truth and honesty over pretty much all else. She's a tough woman, and uses a sharp tongue at times to make sure that her point is well made. Lore tends to be the sort that cares for all though. She has a soft spot for children and you will find that she is much softer around them than she is with others. She does not handle stupidity well. She has no time for someone that puts themselves in danger on purpose, nor someone that does not even try. She will tell that person exactly what she thinks and does not mince her words what so ever. When she is on duty as a doctor, she is greatly the same. However, she does have a soft spot for those that got hurt, and those that were innocent and caught in the line of fire. Things like that will pull at the softer side of Lore. Though, despite how hurt someone is, if they caused their wounds because of idiocy she will curse them while saving their lives. Those that are under the care of Lore know, very well, just how Lore is and understand that the 'tough love' mentality is just her way. It's her way to care, and her way to let off the worry and concern she has for those that she is working on.

Appearance

Lore stands fairly tall compared to normal human counterparts. Being that she is Thyferran, she is taller than people that look similar to her. For all intents and purposes she looks pretty human. She has almond shaped eyes that are a dark brown, nearly black yet they have beautiful golden striations in them when the light shines at them. Her hair, also dark brown falls down to her waist in it's length. Often kept up and out of her face in a pony tail or bun during her work hours she often tries to let it down when she is off duty. She has some bangs that hang down on her forehead when she forgets to pin them back. She is willowy and tall but carries a bit of curve with her as well. Slender but built and she works out when she isn't on the clock often so that she can keep up with her patients and help carry and treat them, especially when they are larger than her. She tends to wear pants, jeans, tshirts and a lot of tank tops. It's very very rare to see her in a dress or skirt or anything feminine like that. Only on the most special of occasions and usually under duress.

Biography

Early Years

Life On Thyferra

Lorelei was born as the youngest in the Shu family. An accident, after her older sister hit the ripe age of sixteen, she had a large age gap between herself and her siblings leaving her to be practically raised by only parents. Her brother Mikal and his twin Erik was already into college and earning his degrees in business. Her sister, Elizabeta, was in the last years of school already when the little baby Lorelei was born. Her sister, still at home, helped with the baby when her busy parents were saddled with their demanding jobs, though eventually her mother decided to leave her job behind and stay home to raise Lorelei. The demands on Lore were always fairly strong and vast, she was already headstrong from birth, the kind of little girl that knew how to get her way or made sure you regretted not giving it to her in the first place. She was expected to follow in the footsteps of her brothers and sister. Demanding that she made the best grades, and did the best in schools. It wasn't long before her own walls began to be decorated with her achievements, medals, trophies, and certificates. She wasn't the smartest, but she always strove to be her very best, and that was the important thing. Her brothers graduated college and worked their way up in the conglomerate powered world while their sister entered college and quickly soared through. Lore was left behind with her parents but she never once let that deter her from her dreams. She had initially dreamed of being an Astronomer, but there was no money in such things. The stars were already known and explored there would be no need for those, but since she had been small they had always called to her; those stars. Later, she wanted to be a teacher, a less admiral position but acceptable as something for those that couldn't achieve what she could to do. Someone had to teach those that would be the next generation. Further on, she wanted to be a Chemist, the math and beauty of chemistry was something that she enjoyed and she did many experiments in the kitchen when she was younger resulting in all sorts of messes that she had to grudgingly clean up on her own. Lore had always had a chip on her shoulder, and was the sort to jump to harsher words when needed even though her mother always punished her, she could never quell the spirit of Lorelei.

The Incident

When Lore was sixteen years old, her uncle, decided to come for a family visit. It was something she was excited about, her father always spoke kindly of his brother and he had never had the pleasure of meeting Lore since he was constantly traveling with his company. However, this time he was coming home for a quick visit before heading to the next destination. While he was there, she got a lot of one on one time with him. He saw how hard Lore was working and how stressed out she was because of all the pressure to perform, things that he understood all too well. Deciding to do something fun with Lore he rented a Speeder and decided they would go off on a trek through the forest and just have some fun. He had known of a special place that he wanted to take her. A place he used to disappear to when he was younger, to just refocus and let out the stress. Her parents agreed to the day off reluctantly as long as she promised to get back at it the next day. She and her Uncle hit the forest on the speeder, zipping through the trees and enjoying themselves. She was laughing, her hair flying behind her, both of them had their helmets on,

though her uncle had not secured his under the chin, Lore was far too 'good' not to and had made sure hers was secured properly. She would never get to see the special spot he wanted to take her too. She pointed at an animal to the side, her voice carrying over the rush of the air around them, and her Uncle looked away from where they were going for just a moment. But that moment was enough. Not looking where they were going, her uncle's speeder slammed into a tree. Lore was catapulted through the air, after the explosion and she slammed her leg into a boulder as she fell from her great height. Her body was on fire, from the explosion, her clothes were burning. She had enough thought to roll around and get the fire out before it could go beyond that. Lore blacked out on the scene. Search teams were sent out into the forests to find the missing family members, they found the remains of her Uncle who died instantly at the scene. And later, they stumbled across Lore, burned and unconscious. She was rushed back to the hospital as close as they could find to be treated and hopefully saved.

Treatment

Lore was in pretty bad shape when she was taken into the hospital. She had burns on her chest from the accident, though she had been able to extinguish the fire she still had extensive burns to her chest and shoulder on the left side of her body. Some of her hair had been cinged off, whatever was long enough to be victim to the fire and outside of her helmet. She then, when she had fallen, had shattered her leg in several places, and it had to be held together with various metal rods and a special casing outside her leg to keep all of the bones in place while they healed. She spent months merely bed ridden. Once she was able to stay awake for a full day, with only a few naps here and there, she began to take her classes long distance. It was not acceptable for her to fall down on her studies while she was recovering. It was eight weeks with pins and metal rods holding her leg together before they were surgically removed leaving her with a polka dot leg, with all the scars from the large metal pins. During this time, she got to know the nurses and doctors like a second family. Her mother and father and siblings worked nearly non stop because of the culture they surrounded themselves with and could not come to see her every day. So she had created a support system around her with the doctors and nurses. It was then, that she began to really realize her true calling. She wanted to be like them. Hard as stone, soft as a flower, and saving lives every single day. Rehabilitation tested Lore to the extreme. Getting the atrophied muscles in her legs to start working again, to build them back up, to make the bones bear weight. It was painful and hard, but she pushed through with the support of her hospital family and everyone around her. Finally, after months of hard work, Lore was released. Though her family had kept the death of her Uncle a secret until her release.

Relocation

Grief struck Lore hard. Her Uncle.. had died, and she felt that it was her fault. If only she hadn't called out to him, if only she hadn't taken his attention away from the direction they were traveling. So many 'what ifs'. She fell apart. She had been able to graduate early from school while in the hospital and there was no reason to stay. Her parents made the executive decision to start her over. To get her past the horrors, and let her heal and start fresh somewhere else. That was the important thing, if they stayed, they feared that their daughter would fall apart. They could not allow that to happen to their precious Lore.

Saying goodbye to her two brothers and sister, they took off for Sibisime. So that they could try a new life. Taking all of their culture with them, and vid screens so that they could talk to their family back home when they needed to.

Sibisime

With all their education and credits from their home world it wasn't hard for the Shu to find good jobs. Her father jumped onto the board of a up and coming company. With his training and his education he becames the CEO of Clandestine Enterprises rather quickly. While her mother, at first didn't work, instead staying home to do what she could to help Lorelei through her grief. Lore was doing all right, she was always tough as nails and a new start had helped a lot. Though she carried the grief with her and would always she started to heal better in an environment that didn't constantly remind her of her Uncle. Finally, Lore felt ready to tackle school. She entered the most prestigious college that she could find on the planet and found herself at the top tier very easily. Her work ethics and scholastic aptitude carried over from her home world meant that she soared through school rather quickly and by the age of eighteen she was already in medical school and training very quickly. Eating up all the education that she could. Because she was highly intelligent she was able to take on several specialties. She made sure that she knew how to perform triage, surgery, transplants and took on the speciality of cybernetic and artificial implants. She stayed in school an extra time so that she was ready to conquer the world and all the medical needs she could find when she released herself from it. Finding a job for an over educated woman wasn't all that easy. She was deemed over-qualified by a lot of things. It was a while that she worked at a small hospital in her home town. Not something that she really wanted, but it was money and it was a stepping stone while she waited for the right job to come along.

The Right Job

It was during a long walk after work one day, that the exhausted Lorelei saw the open recruitment add for a large ship that was hiring many personnel. Including medical doctors. Something to do with the Clan's son. She decided that she could at least try. Her mother was constantly pushing for her to find a new job. A better paying one. A more prestigious job. Something. So she decided to put her name in the pot. Not expecting to be called back what so ever. However, she ended up being called back in and found herself having been picked for the interview stage. Her mother had never been more excited when she found out that Lore had been picked to actually show up. She made sure that Lore went shopping and bought at least a nice shirt but couldn't talk the young stubborn woman out of jeans as well. Lore showed up at the interview and instantly felt out of place. Everyone in the room was rough and tumble. They fit here, on a ship that went into battle constantly they were definitely a fit. There were even some doctors there that were boasting about the hardest thing they had healed and brought a patient back from. There Lore sat in her emerald top and her jeans, waiting for the moment when she would be told to leave. She was shocked when a massive tiger came and sat beside her, introducing himself and talking to her like he had known her all along. Telling her that she was pretty despite that driving her nuts.

Somehow, through talking to him, she made it to the second interview phase. Though she was not prepared for what happened there. She was lead into a shooting range where the Tog ran out in front of live fire getting shot nine out of ten times. She was asked to save his life, right there, and under the watchful eyes of who she would later learn was his mother. She saved his life, all the while cursing at him while she was doing it because the stupid idiot was literally hitting on her while she was doing it. She saved the idiots life, earned herself a dinner on him, and found herself with a job. She was shocked, and knew her mother would be more than thrilled.

The Right Man

Lore and Kyro were thick as thieves nearly immediately. Covered in his blood he took her to his house where she was able to get cleaned up. Though seeing her in his massively over sized clothing did something to him and before they made it to dinner they had made out. Getting rather heated before they both realized they needed to cool down and get to know each other. Heading downstairs he had cooked her a meal she had never eaten before and they shared what would be the first of many nights together. Over the next few days between running home and doing her work; putting in her notice to quit and celebrating with her mother, she found herself spending a great deal of time with Kyro. They got to know each other and spent time just doing normal stuff. He convinced her to go to the Petal Celebration with her, so that they would be able to have a good night together before they shipped out. Lore had never attended the festival and only watched the lantern release from the roof of her home but she agreed to go and turned out to have more fun than she thought she would. She found herself the proud owner of a necklace that had a red petal framed in glass. They ate and drank and went on a row boat ride before they ended the night hiding away from the crowd, which made her nervous, in the gardens. There, they were too hungry for each other to make it to his house and they ended up making love in the gardens before heading to his house to fall asleep curled around one another.

Confusion

Things grew hectic on the ship and Lore and Kyro lost track of one another. It didn't help that every time that he was hurt he hid form her, mostly because he knew that he would get a mouthful. But, finally, it came time to track him down. She had heard from others that she had helped how wounded that Kyro was and she had messaged him over the ship's com system to no response. Suddenly, she knew that he was badly hurt and hiding from her. She headed straight to his quarters with a bag of medical supplies. She beat on the door and he let her in. He was wounded, nearly dying because the jerk was bleeding out all over his place. So she lay him on the bed and began her work. She didn't even have time for pain killers, she began to sew closed his wounds and the arteries that he had severed. He was lucky he was alive at all. While she worked he caressed her thigh, just watching her, waiting for her to be finished. Once she was done, she gave him some pain meds that she hoped would help and cleaned up his room which was covered in his blood. Finally, as she finished cleaning he confronted her, on not liking him the way that he liked her. She was quick to tell him he was full of shit, and they began to work some things out. Finally, they realized that they were both stupid. They had both been avoiding each other for reasons that weren't even real. That night, he told her that he loved her and kissed her. She made him sleep

and slept beside him all night. The next morning, he forewent breakfast and made love to her, biting to bond with her receiving her own bite back, bonding together that day.

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Afterwards things were good. His mother was not pleased that he had bonded with her, but Lore couldn't find it in herself to care. She wore her mark, which was on her shoulder, quite proudly and allowed it to scar instead of healing it the right way, because she wanted to have a scar that she chose. One that she wanted, and actually represented all the things in her life that she wanted. Someone to care about, something to drive for. They were happy for a good long time. They decided to go on a vacation to a resort, catching up with their main ship when the battle was closer. It was a perfect time for them. Love and enjoyment. Swimming, sand, sight seeing. Both of them together as though the world around them didn't exist. It was one of the most beautiful moments that she had spent in her life yet, and he didn't mind her scars. In fact, he oddly loved her scars, and that was something that made her feel so good about herself. Very happy with herself overall, and knowing that she was accepted so easily. The upcoming battle was going to be hard and bloody, she was ready for it, but this slice of heaven was just what she needed before that.

A Fine Line

The battle was indeed bloody, one of the enemy got behind the lines and began to fire at the nurses, medics, and doctors. Kyro having seen what was going on risked his life, jumping in front of Lore taking several harsh bullet wounds and bleeding out badly. Lore had been saved, and remained unhurt but Kyro's life was seeping out between her fingers. She quickly loaded him onto an ambulatory ship and they headed back to the main medical hub back on his ship. All the while she cursed him for his stupidity. While she was grateful to be alive she hated that he was hurt to make sure that she lived at all. She tried so hard to keep him alive. Finally, they arrived at the medical bay and she was able to actually rush him into surgery. It went for hours, and she finally was able to actually save his life. To close the artery that had been severed and had given him a blood transfusion out of her own arm. Finally, all he needed was rest and so she had left him to get that while she went to shower and clean herself of his blood. His mother had other plans however, and as soon as Lore exited the operating theater she was slapped viciously by the woman. She was told by the woman that Lore would only get Kyro killed and she had better find a way to separate herself from Kyro or else. She was threatened that if she did not break it off with Kyro she would be sent to the other side of the galaxy and Ky would never find her again. If she broke up with him, she could, at the very least, stay close. So that was what she did. While Kyro was weak with blood loss and healing from his gunshot wounds she broke up with him knowing, for once, he would not be able to come after her. She crushed his heart, and her own in one fell swoop. He nearly died chasing after her, but she had other doctors on hand to fix him back up and made herself vacant for a while. Giving them large space, not answering his calls, and going the other direction when he was coming down a hallway. They both suffered.

Death Comes in Doses

Two months later, she was at his office because she needed to talk to him. Word was her Appa was sick and needed some extra care. Lore was nearly torn apart. Leaving the man she loved and going to her Appa or staying and not seeing him again. So she found herself in the office of her former lover and asked if she could take a break. She was unsure of how long she would be gone but he granted her the leave that she needed and wanted. So off to Sibisime she went to check in with her parents. When she got there, a small plague was running through the city and her father had been one of it's victims. She worked hard, and spet gross amounts of her own money on medication and finally was able to bring her Appa back from the brink. But the plague touched on people in multiple ways and her mother hardly showed any signs until it was too late. As soon as her Appa was on the mend, her Omma passed out lessions broke out on her skin and it took everything that Lore had to treat her but nothing worked. It was too late. And in a night of delirious fever, she passed away in her bed. They buried Omma, and she tried to figure out what to do with her Appa who was devestated to lose his wife. They decided that he would return to Thyferra and live with her brother Erik and his new wife, Cita. Cita was a good woman and while recently with child she was willing to take in her father in law and allow for him to grieve and live where they lived. With her father sent off, the over spent, exhausted, and falling apart Lore returned back to Kyro's ship. She went to tell him that she was back and he took one look at her and realized what a bad situation she was in. He forced her to spend the night together, because he wanted to make sure that she slept. When his mother found out she was livid and Lore broke down begging for forgiveness. Kyro learned of the pact that she had made with his mother and was furious at the both of them but bargained for one week. A week for them to be together. Lore was apprehensive she had learned of some redhead that he had been with while she was gone for two months and it tore her heart apart. They had a week. That week was bliss. They slept together, and mated once more. Now she had two bites, one that was lighter on her shoulder, and the deeper true mating of the neck. They went and took cooking classes together, read books together, and spent all their time that week together as Lore came back to herself and found a stable ground to stand on.

Changes

The week was over, and Kyro went to the woman that he was with, the one that was carrying his babies within her stomach. Lore was broken about that, but she didn't let it show. She tried to remain herself. When she saw them together, she pretended that everything was fine. Shooting them smiles that didn't reach her eyes. But when she passed them, she found herself without breath in her chest. She would duck behind a corner and breath heavily as she sought to regain her confidence. Knowing that the love of her life was with another, that he was having children with another. That everything she wanted to be with him, he was with another. Rumor had it, he he had even mated with her. He could not have torn her more apart. Though on the outside she had showed nothing, and did her job, and followed him into battle when it was necessary, she still felt crushed. She slept very little. She worked hard and passed out if she slept. She didn't handle it well, being alone, she occasionally slept with others but it wasn't the same and she went long periods without anyone. Nothing could touch the connection she had with Kyro. One night, he caught her in their spot. The spot where she and he had watched the stars one night during a big event, and made out for a while. A spot that meant something to her. She was watching the stars, and there were tears streaming down her cheeks. He confronted her, and she

turned screaming at him, finally unloading on him. That he was with another, how much her heart broke every single time she saw them together, that he had mated with her, and impregnated her, and Lore was watching them day in and day out and how much it was hurting her. It felt good, cathartic to let it out finally, all the emotion in her mind and she fell against him crying into his fur, burying he face inside his fur as he held her tightly while she cried against the only man she had ever loved. He told her that he would figure something out, that he loved her, she didn't say it back because she was waiting to see what he could do first.

Settling Down

It wasn't long, she wasn't sure exactly how he absolved what he had with his ex, but suddenly he was free and the two of them were able to be together. Since he was now the leader of the clan his mother cold no longer keep them apart and the two of them were able to stand side by side again. He proposed, one day, claiming to be injured in need of medical care. When she rushed into his room, she was quick to lay out her medical kit only to have him actually take her hands from it and propose to her. She of course said yes. There are a lot of bumps to work out though, lots of trust to be built. The fact that he has had other women, children with one of those women, and had taken on various people while they were forced to be separate has weighed heavily on her and though he feels guilty she loves him and is willing to put forth the time it will take to build that up again. Lore and Kyro visited her home of Thyferra where she showed him bits of her childhood and he was able to meet her family. It was there the two decided, with a small ceremony, to get married in the forest there surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. Now their journey will fully begin.
