Title Duke of the Gehenbar Hive, Mazzag of the 57th Egg

Mazzag was a native Geonosian who never had set foot offworld. Marked by xenophobic tendencies like most of his race, stemming from never going offworld. One day he might explore what the vast galaxy might hold, if he ever finds the courage to leave his never ending days of work and his hive behind.

A Larva's Story

Mazzag's story starts with a lot of turmoil. The queen who hatched his batch of eggs had found itself in an unstable part of the old catacombs of the Gehenbar Hive. This resulted in Mazzag being one of the few eggs who were managed to be saved in time before destruction destroyed most of the batch. Mazzag was then known as Mazzag of the 57th egg. After this catastrophical event, Mazzag was assigned to the Warrior Caste. Due to being one of the few Geonosians who had wings. This came as an advantage, and quickly Mazzag found himself day in and day out training with the others of his regiment. One day he was selected to be assigned to the Elite part of the Warrior Caste. But declined as he didn't want any cybernetical changes to his body. This brought great shame to him. Yet Mazzag believed that the robotic parts would become a hindrance and relying on his training and natural instincts rather than artificial enhancements.

Once part of the Hive... Always part of the Hive...

Shame followed him everywhere and his name was tainted. Declining an opportunity to be elevated to the Elite wasn't without consequences and in a caste destined society, it was a terrible fate. Mazzag had been waiting for an opportunity to present itself to clear himself of that shame, yet none came around. Tired of sitting around and waiting for a miracle, he devised a plan. The Geonosian would join in the arena and make a name for himself, until the Geonosians would forget about that shameful part.

Months passed by, and the new gladiator found himself facing packs of mastiffs, reeks or acklays. With his combat training it took him some work, but for the most part Mazzag made it out alive. Not finding these creatures a challenge, he asked the supervisor for a real challenge. But he received more than he bargained for. On one such occassion when he had asked if this was the best they could bring, the young gladiator suddenly found himself facing a new opponent. This time, he wouldn't face malnourished and mistreated creatures. This time, he was facing his own kind... The most dangerous of them... The ones who sought a way offworld. The pits were renowned to earn yourself enough credits to make it offworld. All that stood between the freedom of this hardship was Mazzag. They were more than ready to kill for it. Suddenly Mazzag snapped out of his shock as a vibroaxe almost impacted his left leg, quickly he leaped backwards and fluttered to create a bigger distance between him and his opponents. Relying on his training, he went in for a quick surprise attack and punished one of his opponents with a pike to the chest. Following up with a well-placed hilt of the pike, he managed to unbalance another and also finished him off. Two others remained. The one on the left charged towards him, and he threw the pike, finishing that one. But the last one seemed to be a little tougher. Managing to wrestle Mazzag to the ground. Mazzag had to use all of his strength and a couple of well aimed punches to the face for the last challenger to fall. With that the insectoid stood back up, force pike waving in the air as roaring chants welcomed him, and he yelled: "Once part of the hive... Always a part of the hive!"

A Remnant of Separatist Geonosis

From one arena fight to the next was the new way of life for the Geonosia. Mazzag was the defender of Geonosis, the last hurdle to freedom for those who wished a different life than the endless days of hard labour. In those months none left the planet via the way of the Arena, instead the insectoid gave them a different idea of 'liberation'. Seeing enough blood and battle for weeks on end, he found himself with his regiment drudging through the harsh and unforgiven sands of Geonosis, making a patrolling round on the surface to see if there were any predators too close to the entrance of the Hive. On this expedition, a sand storm who came out of nowhere caught his regiment by surprise. Beating on their carapace and hardly seeing their own hands in front of themselves. Losing all sense of time, he suddenly found himself alone, the sandstorm had made him disconnect from the group. Trying to find his way back, Mazzag found some shelter in an old and abandoned factory. Upon closer inspection, it would seem that a remnant of Seperatist Droids had held the factory and malfunctioned when the all-out shut-down had been called. Following their program, they had held the factory at all costs. An opportunity had presented itself.

This factory could be the rebirth of all the legendary droid factories who populated the surfaces of Geonosis. Once again, his people could mark themselves in this galaxy as its premier droid manufacturer. The droids brought him before the commanding officer, which was a T-series Tactical Droid named TG-92. Mazzag explained what had transpired on Geonosis after the Clone Wars and entrusted the droid with his dream. TG-92 agreed, as it didn't compute with the Separatist vision he was programmed with. The Geonosian took a handful of battle droids with him and brought them to the Hive, where he immediately went to the reigning duke of the Gehenbar Hive. Mazzag explained what had transpired on his patrol. The day after, the Duke had summoned his personal guard together with two of his most trusted advisors and Mazzag with the company of battle droids showed the location of the abandoned factory. Once there, the duke and his advisors alongside Mazzag and TG-92 discussed the possibilities and future of the Gehenbar Hive. Fear took hold of the Gehenbar Duke as he was afraid it would bring unwanted attention to Geonosis and fear that outsiders would once again invade the planet if this Separatist remnant wasn't rooted out. As soon as the Duke turned to command his guards to destroy the platoon of droids and the factory as a whole, Mazzag took TG-92's light blaster and shot the Duke together with his advisors. The Geonosian then went on to command TG-92 and his droids to dispose of the Duke's remaining guards. Mazzag returned to the hive with TG-92 and his battle droids in tow. Adressing the others of the Hive that he had slain the Duke for his short-sightedness and cowardice and that he would now claim the title as his own, appointing TG-92 as his most trusted advisor. From that day on the Geonosian was known as Mazzag of the 57th Egg, Duke of the Gehenbar Hive swore he would put Geonosis back on the Galactic map and restore their former glory.
