Zezumi’s Tale

No Cure for the Impure

Zezumi Sage was born on Kalee, to a Chiss mother and a Kaleesh father. It was this fact that made him an outcast within his tribe, he was known as the mutt, and his Kaleesh tribesmen viewed him as "impure". And thus from the beginning, Zezumi was an outcast within his village. He would constantly be harassed and picked on by his peers. They thought he was lesser than them because he wasn't as great of a warrior as the average Kaleesh.

Zezumi's father, Suzmi, knew there was something special about his son.. and he would push Zezumi to find his purpose in the galaxy. He knew however there was nothing for him on Kalee. After all, how could he feel there was after being pushed away his entire upbringing? The only support and guidance he got were from his parents, who pushed him to go into a pilot program at the academy located within the closest major city to their village.

Zezumi took to piloting quickly, some would say he took to piloting like a rancor does to severed limbs. It just came so naturally for him. It's as if he were born to do it. He passed the pilot academy with flying colors, and couldn't wait to return to his village to inform his mother and father of this.

After a night of celebrating by himself, he decided to hop in his ship that he'd been assigned at the academy back home to show his parents what he had accomplished. To his utter terror, when he arrived at his village, he found it ablaze. Nothing but the smell of burning wood and flesh filled the air. His parents among the casualties.

Without a clue as to who could have done this, Zezumi decided to hop into his ship and do the only thing he could do.. get out into the galaxy and use the skills he's learned to work towards finding answers about what happened to his parents…

A Friendship Halted

Zezumi entered the pilot academy on Kalee when he was just 16 years old, which made him younger than the average student. Despite his age, he was ahead of his entire class in terms of piloting skill. Which made him stand out as a target, along with the fact that he was considered “impure” among his classmates because of his Chiss mother. His pilot instructor, Luca Korra, noticed Zezumi’s natural talent and made him squad leader of his flight class. Zezumi, being a naturally quiet type had a hard time assuming leadership.

Luca would constantly try to push him to take charge, and said if he couldn’t do so, he would have his squad leader status revoked. Zezumi couldn’t take that, as he is a people pleaser and wants to be the very best pilot that he can be. So, he decided to step up to the plate and challenge himself. He would start to develop better leadership skills thanks to his mentor and instructor, Luca.

Zezumi became much more outspoken and took charge a lot easier and more effectively because of Luca’s help. Luca would introduce Zezumi to who would become his lifelong comrade, another Kaleesh pilot-in-training by the name of Galak Horde. Galak and Zezumi would become “partners in crime” of some sort. They did everything together, they became brothers. Galak did not judge Zezumi because of his “impure” blood. Galak saw Zezumi as the Kaleesh brother he was, and also saw him as an amazing pilot. Zezumi saw the same in Galak.

Galak would one day drop out of the academy because he discovered that he had more of a passion for mining and gathering materials. He found out that Kalee was rich with raw materials, he tried to get Zezumi to come with him but Zezumi couldn’t abandon his dreams of becoming a well-renowned galactic pilot. After giving Galak this news, Galak just suddenly disappeared one day. Zezumi believed he left for the galaxy to mine.

He later discovered that Galak had joined up with the Krath Dynasty to gather raw materials and mine for them. Zezumi has never forgotten about Galak, and will always remember his brother. Once Zezumi graduated from the pilot academy, he had plans of getting out there and trying to find his old comrade and brother, to rekindle the once great friendship once again.

For The Viceroy! (Joining the Trade Federation)

Sometime during Year 22, after Zezumi had graduated from the Kalee Pilot Academy, with his parents dead and nobody left from his tribe.. he knew he had to leave Kalee, and venture out into the galaxy for better and more productive things. The galaxy is a cold and tough place to a newcomer like Zezumi, but luckily he’s got a natural survivalists wit about him.

Surviving for Zezumi wasn’t the problem though, he already knew what he needed to survive. And that was credits! He set out into the galaxy looking for work, going from system to system, planet to planet. Speaking to many recruitment liaisons from many different factions, but none that he spoke to interested him. Not that they didn’t have anything to offer, it’s just that none of them felt right. They didn’t quite resonate with Zezumi in the way that he wanted.

Until one day, he was venturing around in known Trade Federation space to the north. He was immediately tracked down by Trade Federation ships, they were paging him over his ships communication system.

“State your name and business”, they said

Zezumi replied with an eager tone, “I’m just here looking for a job!”

The Trade Federation was baffled by Zezumi’s boldness to fly into their space, with no protection and ask for a job. Even more so, they were impressed by his ability to get there in the clunker ship he was assigned at pilot school.

They took him in with open arms, had him apply, and take their exam. He passed with flying colors! He was now a sworn in member of the Trade Federation working under Kuat Drive Yards, mostly working on production and RM hauling. And so his journey was on, to rise through the ranks and to make as many credits as possible in the process!

Describing Zezumi

Personality

Zezumi initially seems very standoffish, some may even describe him as being ‘cold’. This is merely a defense mechanism that Zezumi learned on Kalee. Zezumi trusts nobody, which has served him well in this cut-throat galaxy. Beyond the guard Zezumi keeps up, he is very bubbly and energetic for a Kaleesh. This personality trait must be from his Chiss blood. He also is very loyal, and will go above and beyond to help his loved ones and the Trade Federation. Zezumi is also highly, highly intelligent and has very quick wits about him.

Appearance

Zezumi stands at approximately 6’0 tall (1.83m) and weighs around 187 pounds (84kg). He wears a black leather trench coat, and sometimes wears a long black cap to match it. Zezumi is also fond of jewelry, always sporting a few rings on his fingers. He also has a scar over his left eye, and his tribes insignia tattooed on the right side of his face.

He has many scars on his body from his rough life back on Kalee, each scar containing a painful memory. This trauma has never left Zezumi. You can see the pain in his cold black eyes when they look at you with a dead stare.
