Early Life

Young Velskara Wren

Veleskara Wren's story begins 18 years ago, right before he and his twin sister Racin'ad were born.

Racin'ad Wren

Skar's father, an infamous bounty hunter, was killed during an assassination contract. His target, a Hutt named Madalor, had crossed the wrong Coruscant officials, and they had hired Skar's father to hunt him down; but he wasn't up to the job. One of the Hutt's bodyguards got in a lucky shot and killed young Wren's father, leaving his mother to raise him and his sister, without a husband. Their clan, Clan Tenau, helped their mother raise them, and provided for her while they learned the Resol'nare

Dral Akaan

After his father's death, Wren's mother constantly impressed an old Mandalorian saying upon him, "Aliit cabour solus ashi bah haar kyr.", Family protects each other to the end. At the same time, his sister Racin'ad and his childhood friend Dral Akaan nurtured in him his love of stealth and piloting, eventually leading to his advanced awards in Starship Piloting. He, Racin, and Dral entered their Resol'nare training at the same time, and formed a bond that only death could break. Unfortunately, this would soon be proven, as Dral and most of Skar's family were killed in an attack by enemy factions, leaving them essentially homeless. Dral's death hit Skar hard, and if not for Racin'ad, he would have closed himself off and blocked out the rest of the world.

Now with no immediate family, the twins were forced drashaar laam early, with the Council of their Clan presenting them with a ship, the Raven, telling them that they were to begin their life among the stars, as long as they gave 50% of their contract rewards until they had paid them back for the Raven.

The Raven

First Trial

Their first contract seemed to be a cinch. A Corellian spice dealer was paying them to transport him and his cargo from Kuat to Coruscant. Everything seemed fine until they reached Coruscant. Skar landed the ship and began his post-flight inspections, checking to see if their ship had sustained any damage. Meanwhile, down in the engine compartment, Racin was checking the engine for wear and tear. After completing his inspection, Skar left the spaceport to gather supplies for the return trip to Mandalore. When he returned, he saw a crew of bounty hunters surround his sister and their contact. A Trandoshan, Wookie, and a Duros with a brown fedora captured Racin and the smuggler, and disabled the Raven's hyperdrive so Skar couldn't follow after them. Stuck on Coruscant, all Veleskara could do was watch his sister disappear into hyperspace, and swear to her that he would find her. No matter what.

Joining Mando'ade

Returning to Mandalore was one of the hardest things Skar had ever done. His sister was gone, and with her was his honor among his fellow clansmen. When he arrived, he was shunned by everyone, except for one old man. The old man told him of another clan, another group of Mandalorians that called themselves the Mando'ade. They would accept him and hopefully help him find his sister. He thanked the old man for his advice, and at his behest, took the old man to Tatooine, as a favor for his recommendation. The old man treated him to drinks at the local cantina, and before he knew it, he had lost most of his credits, and the Raven, in a Saabac game. Down on his luck, Skar was about to reluctantly pawn off his armor for passage home, when a man in Beskar'gam grabbed his shoulder and took him off to a secluded corner of the spaceport. He said that he would give him the credits to get to Manda if he would make sure not to sell his armor. Skar immediately agreed and the man sent him off to Manda with a Comlink direct to the leader of the Mando'ade, Kai Oryk.
