TIE/sr Starfighter

These starfighters are a take-off of the basic TIE fighter. They are very fragile ships and are the scouts of the Imperal Navy. It has a basic TIE body but with a large square box attached to the back. This is where its sensors and hyperdriver are kept. Its wings are bent, instead of the classic TIE's striaght wings. This was done to strengthen the wings, so that they can survive hyperspace. These modifications help the ship in its role as a scout but also make it a less effective fighter. The wings, although stronger, decrease the ship's speed and mobility. The added sensors and hyperdrive force the removal of extra defences and weapons, which makes this ship one of the easiest kills in the galaxy.

Orgin

After the clone wars the Imperal Navy needed a scout ship. This problem was solved by a commander who simply took a captured hyper drive motivator and attached it to a TIE-Ln. They had to remove the extra armor and boosted the radio. The current version is only slighly altered from the original by stabilizing the wings. The modern version also has a small decrease in speed because it uses so much power on its sensors.
