After she graduated high school, she was eager to study computer science and mechanical engineering at a university near her hometown. She aimed to be at the top of her class and managed to pass her final exam. It was there and then that she knew a life in space would be a reasonable goal, with a position within the admirable Galactic Empire being the ultimate goal. The Void Initiative
After some time, her request to join the Initiative was accepted. She hoped that this new beginning, and with it the new opportunities, would give her another chance to thrive in the galaxy. Luckily, she was able to adapt quite well to her new job in the Void Initiative.
Due to [redacted], her training was cut short on Y21D199. To her surprise, she was promptly promoted to first lieutenant on Y21D202.

Niera always had an affinity for technology and oddities. As such, during her downtime, she could often be found tinkering with games, software and simulations. She would also sometimes visit some of the galaxy's auctions and displays.
