Michael Bourne is a Corellian entrepreneur and a Star Captain Adjutant in the 2nd Fleet of the Tion Hegemony.

Biography

Born on a military base on the planet Corellia, Year -12 Day 137, Michael comes from a little known but influential family who are predominantly affiliated with the Galactic Empire. Not much information is available to the public about his family's dealings but there is a belief that their reach spreads deep into the various echelons of the Empire. Because of this, Michael and his family have enjoyed a noticeable amount of privileges in Imperial society, despite themselves not holding any important ranks or offices.

Although Corellia is Michael's official homeworld he has actually spent a majority of his childhood on Coruscant, where he also attended university and recieved a Masters in Economics and Law. For a short while it looked like Michael was going to become a police officer for the Corellian Security Force (CorSec) but citing a desire to explore the galaxy he decided to fly to the Outer Rim where he was offered citizenship and employment with Tion. During his service in the Tionese armed forces, Michael was quickly promoted to the role of Executive Officer (XO) for the 2nd Fleet where he served under the leadership Fleet Admiral Mercurio Plomez, until his resignation from active duty on Year 15 Day 289; in protest of continued support for co-officer Neria Derycke from his government's High Council, citing irreconcilable professional differences.

After Neria was fired from the Tion Hegemony for her role in controversy and discussions between himself and the Lord Hegemon and Hyperion of Tion, Michael opted to have his service to the Tionese military reinstated and spent the time in between ranked as an Honored Citizen. Michael returned to the 2nd Fleet once again to serve with Fleet Admiral Plomez, albeit with a reduced position; Star Captain Adjuntant (7) from Battle Star Captain (9).

Despite having to take a demotion to evidence his probity, Michael remains as committed in his service to Tion as ever and enjoys a close relationship with his government's leading figures.

Outside of his professional career, Michael is an avid trader and has been appointed to the Board of the Department of Trade as an outside Director.

Discovery of Hermos

While on a routine patrol in nearby Spadja, Michael recieved a distress call in a frequency that was not used in galactic communications for a number of centuries. Upon further inspection, Michael discovered the Hermos system which had been forgotten by galactic cartographers after it was held hostage and cut off from the rest of the galaxy by pirates - thought to have descended from Yesgar's pirates; which were known to have once operated in the area.

After the ensuring battle in which the pirates were last seen fleeing from Hermos, the system and its inhabitants were liberated. A treaty was made between them and the government of the Tion Hegemony to offer them protectorate status and for Hermos to become a part of the Greater Tion Cluster.
