| At the same time as the founding of the Chiss Senate, The Chiss Ascendancy decided that a party to represent Progressive Chiss interests in the senate was needed. Primarch [[Elas Sacara]] was nominated to chair and [[Nyll Nitram]] was elected as the first party senator.

| The CPU is currently the largest political party in the Chiss Senate, because of this the part is also highly orginised. The party is led jointly between the Chairman and the current Senator, the only difference is that one also sits inside the Senate. The Chairman is responsible for orginising campaigning and appointing members to party posts. While the Senator debates in the Senate Chamber.
