The Anjiliac Kajidic is a Hutt clan which deals primarily in legitimate trade and gambling. It is a Clan of the Ancients, represented on the Hutt Grand Council by Popara The Hutt. The clan is most well known for its refusal to participate in the trade of slaves and its cordial relationship with the New Republic and other members of the Galactic Alliance.

History

Although members of the clan can trace their lineage to before the Hutt Cataclysms more than 15,000 years ago, the Kajidic only regained galactic prominence within the past few centuries as a result of the cooperation and consolidation of power between Babosa and Popara Anjiliac.

Organisation & Politics

The Anjiliac Clan is and has traditionally been a Hegemonic Anocracy, though members of the Hutt species would consider it a Meritocracy. Members of the clan adhere to the racial cultural belief that the Hutt species has ascended to god-hood, which has led to the prevailing belief within the clan that those who succeed are divinely inspired to have done so, and thus their rule is just.

Culture & Clan Law

Although there is no official clan law, members are expected to adhere to the prevailing Blood & Slime Laws as decreed by the Hutt Grand Council and to make all decisions with the honour of the Anjiliac name and the tradition of Hutt culture as top priorities. Hutts of the Kajidic count themselves among the most gracious and generous of their kind, which is to say they are generally less violent than most Hutts, if no less ruthless.

Slavery & The Treaty of Vontor

The Clan is perhaps most well known for its refusal to deal in the slave trade, although it is not for any moral reason the clan abstains. Slavery is seen as economically inviable by the leaders of the clan, who prefer to employ paid workers or indentured servants, both of which are seen as more cost-efficient over the long term; it is considered a side-benefit that an anti-slave policy has opened a number of additional large commerce markets with which the clan pursues trade.

Anjiliac Hutts recognize the validity of the Treaty of Vontor, though they support adding additional clauses allowing those who have put in an acceptable term of service to the Hutts to pursue their own interests later in life.
