Herrick Cardass is a man at war with himself, within himself. It is a war of three sides; the first his perceived duty to TAC, the second his desire to serve his house and the third the self-serving aspect of his will. Currently the first side is winning, but losing ground as the third side fights hard and pushes back, trampled the second side, his desire to serve his house, is spent and all but defeated. Not that Herrick does not wish to serve TAC or his house, he would like to think that by serving them he also serves himself, but alas that is the root of the conflict. He is taken by the immutable idea that by serving TAC or ExHilo he will only be lining the pockets of others at his own expense, it is this idea causing his self-serving will to push against his will to serve and this idea he seeks to silence.

Aside from that internal struggle he is also a man pushed close to his limits, broken some might say, by recent galactic events. His first home fallen into blackness’ hands, his mentor, that he admired so, dead, the group he desired to lift up as an example to the galaxy re-branded to distance it’s still corrupted heart from the matter, himself betrayed by a dragon, and five he called friend dead. He donned his mask out of grievance, and for his own shame.

It is now Herrick Cardass' greatest wish to restore House ExHilo to glory and to establish it as both a loyal servant and valued part of The Avance Coalition.
